Sending your watch in the post takes a small leap of faith. Let me put your fears to rest, these 'watch guys' are excellent!

This company is exceptional. I have a (as it turns out) 1969 ladies Omega cal 601 which has not run well for a long time. I did not know the calibre until today.
I demagnetised it myself and put it in a timeographer at home. Running at 265 degree amplitude and zero beat error with very little positional variation. But the rate per day was minus 239 to 246 depending on position. Again very little positional variation.

Anyway it seemed to me that it was highly likely this watch needed regulating only. Because of the good amplitude, excellent beat error, and excellent positional variation. I rang loads of places. Nowhere woild touch it without servicing it. I was quoted anywhere from 250 to 600 pounds. The problem of course is that if I had it serviced and spent all that money it is distinctly possible that it would come back not as good as this!

I found this company through a forum and sent an email to them explaining my problem and sent them screenshots of the timeographer readings. The reply was prompt, and Christian at Watchguy, agreed with my opinion and asked me to book it in.

On the day it arrived at their end, within half an hour I had an email to say that they had buffed out some scratches on the crystal, the Omega movement is perfect, and yes, regulation only.... For less than 50 pounds including postage! Photos were sent to me via their service portal.

I cannot express my thanks enough. My wife's Omega saved!

This is all you want, professional, honest, reliable people to do work for you to a high standard. Top class communication to boot.

Absolutely incredible service.

The watch was serviced but no longer sets smoothly after a month. Hard to move crown and stiff resistance, but doable.

My watch was also returned to me with a mark on the dial that was not there when it was sent off. before and after photos taken by me and the workshop itself unequivocally show this.

When this was raised with Johannes he simply stated that the Watch dial is I quote ‘full of scratches anyway’ (it is emphatically not - it’s a patina watch without any obvious scratches). Concerning to hear a watchmaker, working on a vintage watch, to use such language, as though making more scratches is acceptable, because it isnt new. Ludicrous.

Watch was also shipped to me with a damaged crystal after a new one had been installed. when this was raised to the watchmaker they apologised and offered to install a new crystal at their cost, including postage. but also rudely dismissed the damage as ‘microscopic’ which again it is clearly not. I noticed immediately from normal distance.

When I politely pushed back and sent pictures showing all this, i was told to call my watchmaker Johannes 'Mr Gitzinger'. Okay! Classroom stuff.

This damage is disappointing but can be stomached on a (roughly) £1000 vintage Seamaster. if it were the case for a valuable or more sentimental watch, I would be incredibly upset. I understand damage can happen at any time. But due to the rudeness in communication, will not use this watchmaker again.

Super helpful, they fixed and pressure tested my Halios.

After a long search, the Watchguy team brought the defective JL Futurematic—which I inherited from my father—back to life.
The watch works perfectly and keeps excellent time; I am very grateful to Watchguy for carrying out this job. The price charged was also absolutely reasonable.

This was my third vintage chronograph job submitted to Johannes and the team. The fault was diagnosed precisely with corrective action recommended and an effective fix implemented with speedy turn-round. Full visibility of progress throughout and excellent pricing. Fantastic company to deal with, really easy with excellent communications. I posted my watch and had instant confirmation of receipt and access to a live update page to monitor progress. My watch had taken a knock with timings dramatically out, they diagnosed and fixed the problem - apparently an easy fix and was charged a minimal fee. Completely honest, I highly recommend and would happily use again.

Fantastic customer service and a genuine passion for watches. I've used they guys are few times now and they came recommended from a serious watch collector friend of mine. Once for my dad's 1976 Omega Speedmaster and just now for my 2006 Speedmaster. Service on both watches and the main spring replaced on the 2006. I wouldn't trust my watches with anyone else, not even Omega. Ray, Johannes are exceptional and do everything 100% right. Even on a service you'll get a link to around a hundred photos of the work carried out - great to keep with the watch as provenance. Honestly I can't rate highly enough and excellent valuer for money too. Thank you Ray, Johannes and the team.

Have used Christian, Johannes and Ray for a couple of services. Omega Speedmaster, Schumacher ltd edition and Submariner 16800 from 1983. Great service both times.

Very reasonable price too - with a good system for keeping you updated with progress. It's an automated system. I started approx number 40 in the queue, then went down to 35, 33, 30 and then all of a sudden work was started and it was finished. That was a pleasant surprise. So I'd say it's useful system and hopefully means you'll get your watch back a bit quicker than you might think at first.

Submariner is now running great. Pressure test completed too. No unnecessary dial changes like Rolex might do. And around £800 cheaper.

Would definitely use again and have recommended a friend to get his Submariner serviced by them as he has never serviced it in 20+ years..🤣

My 26 year old Omega Seamaster Professional has recently been serviced by this company. The service from first enquiry to receiving my watch back in a sleek kevlar type protective pouch was first class. The customer Portal is excellent, allowing you to keep track of the progress of the watch while in their workshop. You even get a multi photograh sheet showing each and every step. In short very impressed. Well Done.

Had my Seamaster with the 2500 Co axial movement serviced. Good turn around time, watch returned cleaned but not polished and looked far better than when sent to them. Returned in a smart small travel case which was a nice touch. Regulation had to be tweaked by them, but seems fine now.
Would recommend and will use again.

Johannes, Christian and Ray, thank you. This is the second time I have used you to service and repair rare and complex watches that few other repairers are prepared to touch. You combine excellent knowledge along with brilliant customer service. The Lemania 5100 movement in the Porsche Design Chronograph 1 that you repaired, is known to be a tricky blighter. But the work for you was effortless, being able to find parts and get it running to a high standard. I love the web page you create with photos and updates of the service in progress. I definitely recommend you to any watch collector. I think this is as much a passion as a business for you.

What a fantastic experience having my vintage Rolex cleaned and serviced by the team at Watchguy. Ray took charge and the level of communication was excellent. I’m struggling to think of any better customer service and value that I have received, ever.

I inherited a vintage Rolex when my dad passed away around 20 years ago. It hadn’t worked for the last 15 years. Having taken it to a well known high street Rolex retailer, known for supplying lots of Watches from Switzerland (ahem) I was told that a repair would cost et least £1,800, would take at least 12 months and the watch would have to be sent to Switzerland.

A friend then told me about The Watch Guy. Here I am, less than 3 months later, sitting somewhat misty eyed, looking at my dad’s working watch on my wrist and only around £500 worse off, despite the discovery of rust in part of the movement, when the watch was opened.

The entire process has been…well, joyous. I was kept in constant contact with these incredibly talented and skilled craftsmen. I have a collection of photos of the internal workings of my watch, stripped down, cleaned and reassembled. I was provided with all the original parts that had to be replaced, when my watch was returned.

More importantly, I have my dad’s watch, fully restored, cleaned, tested and working beautifully. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough.

Johannes has done an exemplary job on my watch and went the extra mile despite it taking extra time. I'm super happy with the service and would not hesitate to recommend Watchguy for both repairs and service. Johannes was both friendly and fastidious in doing a great job and kept me regularly informed. I really appreciate his efforts.

We were on the 4th day of our holiday when my wife noticed water inside my Rolex DateJust. This was made worse as it could have been sea water.
Upon our return I contacted Ray (who had serviced my watch before) and told him what had happened. He very kindly let me jump the queue. I delivered the watch and by the time I had driven 45 minutes home he had opened it to investigate. Fortunately, there was no damage nor corrosion.
Ray then completed a full service, replaced the seals and pressure tested my watch.
Whilst the watch was being serviced I received detailed updates on progress, needed replacements and a set of photos of the disassembled watch.
The service from Ray (watchguy.co.uk) is just awesome; above and beyond.

I’m truly delighted that I have found folk I can trust to do a proper job, as it’s not easy to find these days. The company keeps you up to date with your place on the waiting list. When the work commences, on line photos allows you to see what is being done to your watch.

I have just had a full service done on a vintage Omega Pie Pan chronometer and it is now keeping truly excellent time. 👌🏻

This is the second time I have used the company and certainly won’t be the last! 👍🏻
