We sell superb artisan cheeses from Wales' best independent cheesemakers. We specialise in gift boxes, hampers and carefully curated cheeseboards. We stock over 60 of the very best Welsh cheeses, and work with 15 fantastic producers. Established in 2017, the business has gone from strength to strength, but we've never strayed from our core purpose, which is to champion Welsh cheese to our customers all over the UK.

The Welsh Cheese Company did its job as…
The Welsh Cheese Company did its job as one would expect - reasonable delivery time and very good packaging.
The Gorwydd Caerphilly cheese was something else. Before I go on I must say that I am not sensitive to smells - bad smells do not upset me. If you think Camembert cheese smells bad this one is in a different league and I had to buy 2 pieces to get above the £10 minimum order threshold. If the cheese had not been so expensive - it is not bad for artisan cheese - I would have thrown it straight out! I persevered and cut off some rind and in all fairness the cheese eats reasonably well even with the residual smell. It is not crumbly as I understand Caerphilly should be but it has got better as I am getting to the end of the second piece although still not crumbly like Cheshire or Wensleydale. You won't be surprised when I say that I shall not be buying Gorwydd Caerphilly again.

Réponse de The Welsh Cheese Company
Hi Christopher. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I'm glad your cheese arrived promptly and that you like our packaging. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't like the Gorwydd very much. It's one of the most well respected artisan cheeses in the UK, but it's not necessarily to everyone's taste and I'm sorry you were disappointed by it. We'd have been very happy to send you an alternative if you'd been in touch with us or if you thought that there was something wrong with it. We appreciate all feedback though, so thanks again for the review.

Prompt delivery
Prompt delivery, the contents were in excellent condition. Love the use of sheep’s wool as an insulator and the reusable ice packs are very useful in indeed. The cheese is gorgeous too.
