Wickes - Edinburgh Avis 

Absolutely shocking customer service. We recently bought a new kitchen. The man that came to measure was great and seemed really good. Flash forward to the kitchen being delivered and it all went down hill. After measuring everything, the pipes hadn't even been put onto the plan, resulting in an urgent plumber to be called out and an extra £600 bill. The cabinets are shocking quality, IKEA could have done better. Have now been on hold to customer service regarding a missing cooker hood, only to be told to phone the store. Phoned the store only to be told to phone customer services. Absolute joke of a company.

Have a very small kitchen and struggling to get a fitter. Wickes are happy to do the fitting but have said its not worth their while doing it unless white goods (which aren't required)are purchased from them as well!
They could also make it a bit clearer on their website that fitting only applies to their 'bespoke' kitchens which provide a limited range.

I popped into Wickes Edinburgh today with my wife to get some ideas on a new kitchen. I had a few things in mind but nothing concrete and got chatting to the manager Simon.

I explained I was merely looking for some kitchen ideas and had popped in on the passing as I actually stay in Hamilton.

Despite this, he spent the best part of an hour chatting with us. He provided some excellent advice( some of which saved money) confirming some of my thoughts and changing my opinion on many other things.

By the time we had left we were almost certain of the kitchen we will choose and it will be from Wickes.

I found Simon to be very open and honest and he had an excellent knowledge about the products.

I would highly recommend anyone that is thinking of buying a kitchen or looking for advice to pop in to Wickes.

The items purchased were fine for my purposes with a reasonable selection but I was shocked and disappointed by the lack of provision of any baskets or small or medium sized wheelie trolleys for customers. There were only huge unwieldy ones which were so heavy and difficult to manoeuvre that I had to abandon mine mid-shop and resort to carrying around lengths of timber and plywood sheet and screws. My complaint about this was met with indifference, which I thought was poor service to a 75year old.

Terrific can-do attitude at Wickes Edinburgh.
I needed to buy a large quantity of mineral-wool loft insulation and Wickes Edinburgh were easily best on price and availability. It got a bit complicated (my fault, I miscalculated and over-ordered). Simon, Susan and, especially, Morton, couldn't have been more obliging and helpful with the several uplifts I made - and the return of, and full refund for, the surplus!
Their motto is "Let's do it right", and they did!

I got my delivery today as expected, two very large storage boxes, when it arrived the delivery driver Andrew wouldn’t bring them up the stairs to my door, he left them at the bottom of the stairs and expected me to get them, I am a single mum with two very small children which I had to leave in the house to get my delivery, I am not happy with this

I ordered from wickes on 27/12/24 and delivery was supposed to be on 2/01/25 by xdp nothing arrived and tracker said at delivery depot and today 3/01/25 was updated but still saying the same, I called wickes and the lady said it has been assigned to a driver and will be today but the tracker has been updated and still says at depot. Not good enough, wickes contracts xdp to delivery goods and my contract is with wickes. Seriously avoid buying for delivery from wickes! The courier they employ Xdp are a joke and I wonder how they are even trading!! Wickes just be honest with your customers!!!
Update 9/1/25 still no refund despite wickes and xdp asking me for more details via trustpilot, it's a joke they only ask for more info via here to make them look good, as if they are concerned for the customer.

I ordered a kitchen from Wickes - Edinburgh.

The initial design was unfortunately found unsuitable but I received considerable and authoritative assistance from Balvinder Jassal ("BJ" to his friends and trusted admirers) in rectifying the situation swiftly and effectively.

In preparation for meeting the aforementioned and formidable BJ, I received some wonderful assistance too from trainee designer Monica. She served a magnificent cup of coffee (it was quite early in the morning!) and introduced me to the various options that could be available. This with a wonderfully hospitable manner and smile. Both these guys are a credit to the Store and thank you both sincerely!

The manager too could not have been more helpful.

I plan to use the Store's services again in the next few days and shall look forward to the coffee!

I recently experienced considerable disappointment with the delivery of my order from Wickes. While I appreciate the overall quality of their products, the delivery process left much to be desired.

The driver, upon arrival, refused to assist in bringing the items into our home, citing company policy regarding health and safety. This was particularly frustrating as our home has a few steps leading to the front door, which, in the past with other companies, has never been an issue. My wife was left struggling with the delivery while the driver remained unwilling to help, despite the clear need for assistance.

It is unfortunate that Wickes' delivery policy does not allow for flexible accommodations in situations like ours. A more customer-centric approach would have greatly enhanced the experience and provided a solution that worked for both parties. I recognize that safety is important, but it shouldn't come at the cost of customer service and satisfaction.

I hope Wickes takes this feedback seriously and reevaluates their delivery policies to ensure that customers receive not only their products but also the support they need to make the process as smooth as possible. As it stands, this experience has made me reconsider future orders, and I would advise others to keep this in mind when placing their orders.
