Wickes - Rotherham Avis 

After recently buying a house that needs a lot of work I have been spending a lot of time and money in Wickes!

All the staff have been great at the Rotherham store but the one to mention is Phoebe she has always asked me if I’ve found what I’ve been looking for and if she can help at all even down to mixing me custom Dulux paints.

I’ve bought guttering, paint, brushes, screws, plumbing you name it I’ve had to buy it and Wickes has been great.

From start to finish this project has been a night mare if it wasn't for Andy our bathroom fitter we could have been ordering panels that wouldn't even fit up stairs. The panels far too big to get around stairs order cancelled to find out taps had been missed off original order. Delivery date confirmed 3rd Oct holiday booked at work to then receive. Text message delivery due 2nd oct thank fully the delivery lads waited until I finished work
Day of fitting bath too big won't fit numerous trips back and forwards to store to be told they dont stock them and offered something found in 1970 house
Now poor Andy has the job of sourcing a bath that fits our needs due to my partner having a stroke and loosing use of his left side. Back to store to walk out absolutely broken
NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE WICKES

Paul Nicholson has planned our kitchen for us at the Rotherham store and we couldn't have asked or dreamed for any better. Paul has given us 110% of his time, understanding and patience.
Paul came out to see us several times and has been happy to accommodate any changes we have needed to make.
The 2 reasons for us to have to cancel the fitting service with Wickes are:
A) Because the assigned fitter wasn't reliable, critiqued Paul (UNJUSTLY!) and wanted us to change things too much. We just didn't gel well.
B) Increased costs due to other personal circumstances including the deaths of loved ones and awaiting the paying out of inheritance's. Also a car that suddenly needed replacing Due to my disability.
Both myself and my wife have worked in public facing roles and my wife is from a Banking and sales background. Her motto for excellent sales staff is that people buy "from the person" selling "a great product".
She has stated that if she was still in the Bsnking world, she would head hunt him :)
We will continue, with Paul's support, go see through our project and will return to Wickes for the purchase of other items required.
The only feedback we both feel strongly about, and hope you will take on board, is that Wickes are missing a trick in not having their very own fitting teams. If we could have had your very own assigned fitting team in the Wickes trusted polo shirts, the trust factor of fitting would have been complete. Paul running his own internally employed team would be amazing!! This would be the true dream team.
Unfortunately for us, the finances have been hard to meet BUT Paul is AMAZING!! Don't lose him. We will be recommending him. Thankyou, Andrea and Davina Kulcsar-Leaning x

Worked here before Julie is amazing! So understanding and works very very hard. Very good people. Recommend to anyone !

Went into store today and got help from Phoebe and she answered all of my questions that I had. Will shop there again

Been an absolute nightmare. Bought a larder unit from there Maddison kitchen range in Rotherham store on 12/9/25
Doors not in stock so they ordered them for home delivery.
I have now had 3 separate deliveries by DXL and each time the doors have been delivered damaged.
I am now awaiting a fourth delivery and when speaking to customer services they still can guarantee that the next batch will be intact.

I will never buy anything from Wickes again that is delivered by DXL

Excellent service in Wickes today thanks to Emily S. She was so friendly and helped us sort everything we needed. She made our shopping experience so pleasant.

Emily S was very helpful and kind in helping me to decide on the colour paint that would match my tiles. She gave me the space and time required although there were other customers. Never felt rushed nice customer service with a smile and patience. Thank you

Amazing service from Wicks and especially Adam. He was so helpful. He is a credit to the store. He helped me obtain the items I needed and loaded them into the cR. Couldn't have managed without him.

Visited Canklow branch in Rotherham this morning. Was assisted by a lovely lady called Lisa. She listened to what I wanted and personally took me to the correct aisle and helped me make my choice. She offered advice and her knowledge was extensive. A pleasure to shop there, thank you Lisa.

Wrote a 5 star review purely on the person who served us it has gone completely wrong through Chris the the fitter who phoned us on the Tuesday before fitting to say can't do it and left us in absolute limbo as we had booked him 4 months in advance we have a disabled child so we booked the order and fitter in April as we needed this doing whilst on holiday due to personal reasons it cannot do ahead and let us know the Tuesday b4 fitting what a joke he said he was been upfront and honest but he lied to us about solicitor as he says was representating himself them the reason was from his solicitor which was a lie dont waste your money with these cowboys as customer service is a joke they have refunded me what I had paid out for extras for the fitter but nothing else and it is nw well over 2 weeks and stiil no refund again the service in store was great but they are let down by incompetent fitters and customer service save your money go somewhere else

Visited Rotherham Wicks last week and Sarah assisted with my issue. Sarah was amazing, helpful very friendly and efficient. Product knowledge was amazing. Made my day so much better. Great ambassador for Wicks.

Today I had the pleasure of visiting the branch in Rotherham where I had to go and buy almost 40 Litres of paint. I currently suffer with some health issues. I was very worried before I got there as to how I would be able to pick up the paint to put them on my trolley. As I entered the store, I noticed a lady and I went over and asked if she would help me. This lovely lady was called Michelle and Michelle helped me to select all my paints picking them up and putting them on the trolley for me. She took me to the checkout. She then proceeded to help me to the car and loaded my car up with the paint every time I apologised she kept saying it’s okay don’t worry. I can’t believe the level of customer service I received off Michelle and I thank her for helping me today as I don’t think I would’ve been able to manage on my own. Michelle a personal thank you from me and I wish you all the best.

Excellent advice.
Assistant Lauren gave me excellent advice in a very patient and polite manner. I followed her advice and solved my problem. All this without a purchase. Excellent customer service service.
