Disgusting handling by Barry Thompson

If I could give a 0 star, I would. The way our case was handled by Woodgate and Clark was disgusting and unprofessional. Barry Thompson should be ashamed of his actions and should be reviewed for whether his judgement is fit for the role given he doesn’t understand the basics of his duty and seems to feel comfortable leaving a young family vulnerable. His behaviour and handling of the case was disgusting. Barry unlawfully stopped our alternative accommodation with a few days notice leaving us homeless with a small baby. We were forced to find thousands of pounds overnight to put a roof over our babies head for months with no answers. He refused to communicate, visit the property or do anything to progress the claim and find a resolution to get us back home into our flat. If you’re assigned Barry as a loss adjuster on your case, I’d recommend you ask for an alternative loss adjuster. To date I’ve never heard from Woodgate and Clark, they’ve never taken responsibly for the pain they caused us for months. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I would not recommend Woodgate & Clark…

I would not recommend Woodgate & Clark based on my experience.

The communication has been absolutely horrendous throughout my home insurance claim. Emails, phone calls and even WhatsApp messages have gone unanswered for long periods, leaving me constantly chasing for updates with little or no response.

I met the lead loss adjuster at the very beginning of my claim when she visited my property, but since then I have neither seen nor heard from her again. The lack of communication and ownership of my claim has been extremely disappointing.

My property is now at the stage where multiple contractors are ready and waiting to begin repairs, but everything is being held up because the loss adjusters have still not provided the necessary approvals or responses. None of the parties involved seem able to get hold of them, which has caused unnecessary delays and frustration.

To make matters worse, several other professionals involved in my claim have commented that this level of communication is, unfortunately, typical of Woodgate & Clark.

The whole experience has been stressful and unnecessarily prolonged. I understand that insurance claims can take time, but there is no excuse for such poor communication and lack of responsiveness. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Woodgate & Clark.

Efficient, communicative and prompt

I had a sewage issue at my flat. The claim was dealt with swiftly and efficiently. Michael, the person handling my claim, was efficient, communicative and prompt. Really pleased with the support during a difficult time.

Woodgate Clark are a highly recommended Loss Adjusters

Following a fire at my rental property I was understandably worried and anxious. However Martin Shaw was appointed as my loss adjuster and suddenly life became more bearable. Martin engaged a Forensic Scientist who established that the fire was not malicious meaning that my insurance company LV would accept the claim fir losses. Martin has excelled in his management of third parties such as an asbestos removal company and more than adequately negotiated the relationship with my Insurers.

No complaints

First of all, I am not a client of Woodgate Clark. They are claims assessors appointed by our insurers so we 'had' to interact with them in order to make a claim. Having said that, the local point of contact (Michelle Walsh) was very pleasant and efficient, although a little slow to respond at times, probably down to workload. She/they did what was required and the claim and work was successfully executed and settled.

Excellent Service

The team at Woodgate Clark were very helpful, polite and efficient, supporting us through a difficult time in our lives. They enabled us to return to our home at the earliest possible time.

I have patiently waited over 6 months…

I have patiently waited over 6 months for a simple flood damage claim to even be sent to the insurance company for settlement!
Then when it finally was sent, after more than 6 weeks,I was told it was sent to the wrong team so we are back at the start again.
Woodgate & Clark are completely out of their depth as loss adjusters.

Terrible company from start to finish

Unprofessional and failed to protect the policyholder

Our experience with Woodgate & Clark was deeply disappointing. They ignored expert recommendations, demonstrated no sense of urgency in addressing serious mould and safety issues, and failed to ensure that reinstatement work was completed to an acceptable standard.

The case manager handling our claim was dismissive, lacking in basic professionalism, and showed little regard for the very real impact this situation had on our family. Perhaps most troubling was the way the conclusions of an appointed third-party specialist appeared to be portrayed in a manner inconsistent with our understanding of their findings — a characterisation that was then used to justify ongoing inaction.

For anyone seeking a competent and truly independent loss adjuster, we would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. In our experience, Woodgate & Clark functioned more as a protector of the insurer's interests than as a fair or impartial assessor.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company, I had dealings with this company after they were used as loss adjusters to AXIS regarding an incorrect procedure of cheek fillers by an Aesthetician. She administered the filler too deeply into my cheek muscle which solidified and caused asymmetry in one cheek. I had an ultrasound scan of my cheek which showed exactly where the filler was and I had to pay privately to have it dissolved which cost nearly £2000
They have denied she was responsible and even suggested that I had it done at another clinic….unbelievable!!!

Sympathetic and showed genuine care and attention.

Woodgate & Clark were appointed loss adjusters for my home insurance claim. Admittedly a few bumps in the road mainly due to staff on leave and heavy caseloads, all went well. Special mention to Gaynor and Tessa who were absolutely amazing, taking special considerations of my son’s needs and my disability. A fair and balanced claim was processed and I would definitely recommend Woodgate & Clark. Thank you for your support in a really tricky time.

Unbelievable

So bad. The claim manager started sniggering on the phone, hung up on me, after spending twenty minutes denying absolutely everything, leading me to wonder if I had actually and irrevocably gone insane. The surveyor was as bad, lying about what he'd said, and generally misrepresenting the problem. I'm now dealing with the ombdudsman to get justice. There must be more of us out there.

Roof

I initially contacted them several times regarding a roof leak and provided multiple quotes from different roofers through Checkatrade. Despite this, they rejected my claim, stating that the damage was due to “wear and tear” and therefore my responsibility.
I find this extremely disappointing and unacceptable. What is the point of having insurance if you are unable to make a legitimate claim when needed? The service and response have been very poor.

This company is about as bad as it…

This company is about as bad as it gets. After visiting our property and approving our insurance claim, over 9 weeks later and after the work had been completed (which I had to pay for as they never responded to emails or phone calls) they decided to change their mind and no longer authorise our claim. If you are appointed this company to deal with your insurance claim, Good luck!

Procrastination and prevaricating, giving erroneous information before refusing a claim. No visit to site in question. No concern about gravity of situation. Not a company to trust or get involved with.

Terrible claim experience

Terrible claim experience. Policy wording no longer covers the insured against some of the more technically prolific thieves. Not worth the money I’ve paid over the years for cover after being stiffed at point of claim. Please avoid any insurance product where WC are the loss adjusters.

Great customer service

Great customer service easy to deal with sent in all relevant paperwork and 2phone calls with Haley insurance claim sorted in 24 hours.
Cannot fault my experience with Woodgate and Clark.
Would definitely recommend this company.

Awful Customer Experience

Woodgate & Clark are the appointed loss adjusters of a golf claim I have made through Sportscover Direct. I’ve not had any sort of update for 2 weeks after my claim submission which I would suggest is unacceptable and not meeting Consumer Duty. Phone calls largely go unanswered as do emails requesting updates. I’m unsure of W&C’s SLA’s but based on this experience so far, I am unsure whether I am being treated fairly as a customer. I will be seeking a new policy at renewal that has alternative Loss Adjusters in place on the basis that I hope I never have to go through a claim experience again. But if the worst does happen, I may be treated better as a customer by another firm.
