We purchased 100 Intel NUC elements from this company. They provided us with a PI Invoice that included bank details to send them a wire. As soon as the money left our account and was no longer recoverable, our sales rep contacted us to tell us that their email had been hacked and that the bank details they sent us were wrong.
We had exchanged emails using this bank info for about 4 days, and our IT dept confirmed that the emails had been received from Xecor by inspecting the header info of those emails. Xecor even responded to the wire email confirmation sent by our wire company directly to the Xecor email address.
But our Xecor sales person claimed they never saw any of those emails. We were scammed.
When we reached out to Xecor management, they were understanding but could not offer any explanation for the breach of security.
They were able to offer us a small discount on the product, which we had to pay for again. We did eventually get the product but had to essentially pay for it twice due to their security breach.
