There is no decent car wash near where I live and at 78 I am beyond doing it myself! These days I drive little but general dust bird dropping etc mean it needs cleaning. Yikes have been prompt professional and efficient - Mohammed did a great job yesterday but have been pleased with all. Booking is easy and tho it appears expensive it is more than worth the time I would spend looking for a car wash!

Yikes Carwash uses a petrol powered jet washer. The noise that this creates is like listening to motorcycle revving up and then pausing down with the humming and vibration of a generator motor. Now repeat that revving and pausing every 2 or three seconds and you will get an annoying neighbour at 5pm on a Saturday who also suffered the fumes of burning petrol exuded by the jet washer generator through an open window. Oh and the vacuum cleaner is also powered by this generator. Warning was not given to residents that there will be a noisy machinery that will be operated for an x amount of time on a weekend after 1pm. The same Neighbours who owns the car has not informed neighbours that he/she has booked a car clean and this can impact noise. As taken from the about page at the Yikes Carwash website: “A van burns fuel on every single trip to a customer. Multiply that across a busy day and a mobile car wash quietly becomes one of the more polluting things on the road. Our cargo e-bike carries water, power and all our equipment, produces zero emissions getting to you, slips through London traffic, and parks right beside your car. No fumes, no blocked road, no waiting.” Isn’t using a petrol generator just the same as having a van parked outside your house with its engine on and revving and pausing emitting noise and petrol fumes? Also this is on a Saturday, 5pm, on a quiet residential street.
On the Yikes Carwash website they have no email addresses you can access to send complaints. They have one phone number and I called this number at 5pm ish to have a word with but there’s no answer. The person operating is also very unhelpful with just saying that he can’t do anything about the noise or whatever chaos or discomfort he’s doing for residents because he is just an employee and he has a job to do. However, the contact number is unresponsive so I am basically stuck at in my own home trying to chill on a warm Saturday and I can’t have my window open because of the petrol fumes and no one to complain to.
For people who are thinking of using this service, please ask Yikes what equipment they are really going to bring as the emissions and noise that they create for your neighbourhood would be really disruptive, annoying and smelly. Also book a slot during the work hours and not weekends when neighbours just want to chill in their own home.

Thank you for confirming that you use petrol-fuelled generators. The strong odor of petrol fumes is what I could smell inside my house. The generator was a Hyundai 2200W model. Per their website the latest model produces a running noise of 61dB at 7 metres (double the 29-34 dB you’ve claimed). The model used yesterday seemed to be older louder, and smellier. You’re welcome to come round, set it up again, and have a sniff. Thanks also for sending the Yikes YouTube marketing videos. These confirm that the vacuum cleaner you use is a Titan model which has a 78dB low working noise level and can be higher. The car wash took more than two hours. The machinery noise and the fumes disrupted the whole street on a warm summer evening from 5 to 730pm.

This was my first booking. Had to chase Yikes due to late arrival. Had no update. Then was told there would be a ninety minute delay. Really poor experience. Still waiting for a refund.

The plans advertised are incorrect representation of how the charges operate.
They advertise 6 week plan but charge your bank monthly which in turn is detrimental to the customer as one ends up paying for 4 months with no service.
Be Cautious with this company before subscribing, do your maths as you will end up worse off!!
Had this been known beforehand would not have wasted time and monies.

I am now officially done with traditional car washes. First time using Yikes and cant believe what I’ve been missing out on. I called and was able to get a booking for today. My car hasn’t been this clean since I purchased from the showroom.

Very pleased with this service. Great customer care and my car was left spotless after mould was growing. The team always accommodate and even collected my keys from my door as I had 4 kids with me and couldn’t leave.

This is my second time using yikes car wash and I can honestly say they go above and beyond with their service. Communication is easy and fast. This is definitely the best car wash around.
