SCAMMERS!!
SCAMMERS!!!
These guys had 3 years contract with me and renewed and raised prices every year, only once I had ot use them and the single bathroom I had they denied the fast service and told me it would take 2 weeks to send a technician for another fee to be paid. the callers are all in Philippines and they keep transferring you to another department until you are tired and give up. they are scammers.
DO NOT EVER CONTRACT WITH 2-10…
DO NOT EVER CONTRACT WITH THE 2-10 WARRANTY company if you want to be treated fairly and equitably. If you decide to use them, verify they have licensed contractors in your zip code before you get the warranty. If I could give them a zero I would. Our A/C went out on July 3rd. We understood it was a holiday weekend but we did expect the contractors we were given would be valid approved contractors willing to do the work for 2-10 We received the contractors’s name, Affordable HVAC Heating & Air Conditioning 870.919.1318. Left a voice mail, expecting a call back on Monday after the holiday. No return call, left several voicemails on Monday and Tuesday. No return calls. Called 2-10, their response was to cancel the call and assign it to a new contractor, they signed it to a contractor over 2 hours away, so they assigned it to a 3rd contractor Danny & Jackie Atchle 870.933.8387 this number only rang forever, no answer no voice mail. Called 2-10 they said no contractors in our area insisted we had to go “out of network” “pre-approved” $300 but if it was going to cost more we had to get a quote with all the details for “pre-approval”. This “pre-approved” $300 included the $75 fee that 2-10 would have charged IF they had a contractor in our area. Our total bill was $348. We got the quotes with details, $60 service fee, $288 for parts & labor to install for a total of $348. We received the cortical for $348 and 2-10 would subtract the $75 fee. After getting the approved work completed and invoices submitted 2-10 left a voice mail stating they were received aha a check fired $213 would be sent. I tried contacting them on numerous occasions (wait times are ridiculous if they don’t force you into a call back queue) to get the amount corrected. I sent escalation requests but no response. So 2-10 short paid what was due but my service fee required to diagnose and subtracted the fee ($75) had they provided a contacted to diagnose and fix the system. If the handed breached the agreement to have service prices in our area out out of pocket would have been $75 not the $135 they’ve charged us. They’ve charged me food 2 service charges totally $135 vs. $75 if they had a contractor in my area.
Check other options
I have held a 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty contract in good standing and paid every premium on time. My experience with a recent plumbing claim has been disappointing enough that other homeowners should know before they buy.
I filed a claim for a failed water faucet, a covered plumbing item. On a recorded call, a 2-10 representative confirmed the item was covered. 2-10 then dispatched one contractor, and afterwards dispatched a second. The two contractors reached materially different conclusions about the same faucet. Both were selected, assigned and paid by 2-10, not by me. My claim was nevertheless denied, despite the earlier confirmation of coverage and despite the fact that the contradiction was between 2-10's own vendors, not anything I did.
What has frustrated me most is not the denial itself but the inability to reach anyone with authority to look at it. Over seven days I requested a supervisor callback three separate times through the automated system, from three different phone numbers. I have not received one call back. No supervisor, no email, no acknowledgement.
I have asked, in writing, for the denial to be issued with the specific contract section it relies on, for both contractor reports, and for the recorded call in which coverage was confirmed to be reviewed. I am still waiting.
I would note that 2-10 has been owned by Frontdoor, Inc. since December 2024, and the service I received does not reflect what I was sold when I signed up.
I am not writing this out of anger. I would like this resolved and I remain willing to work with 2-10 directly. But a company that confirms coverage, sends two contractors who disagree, denies the claim anyway, and then does not return three supervisor requests in a week has not earned a recommendation from me.
Unable to get Service
Writing this on a Thursday late morning... I have been trying to get service on my Supreme Coverage warranty with 2-10 since Tuesday morning. All day Tuesday their system was down and I could not schedule a repair even on the phone with them after 2 separate calls. Tuesday night I finally got something entered in the system and the service order was dispatched to a contractor (I received the email Tuesday night telling me that). As of right now I still have not heard anything about scheduling a visit.
Not Reliable - Do Not Be Fooled By Promises Of Great Service
Our AC unit stopped working on a Friday afternoon. We filed a claim with 2-10. We were informed that a technician would be sent out on Monday since they don't make service calls on the weekend. So, we spent the entire weekend without any AC in the scorching Georgia heat. The technician arrives early Monday morning and identifies the issue as leaking evaporator coils. Later that day we are contacted by the service company, not 2-10, explaining that the warranty claim has been denied. An email later arrives from 2-10 stating that if we want to know more about the status of the claim, we have to call the customer service number.
I called the number and was told that the claim was denied because evaporator coils are not covered under the warranty. However, with the warranty agreement right in front of me, I question where it states that. It doesn't. In fact, it implies the opposite by stating "all parts and components of the permanently installed air conditioning systems up to a 5-ton capacity" are covered (ours is a 3-ton) and that a “Covered Breakdown” includes “wear and tear, insufficient maintenance, rust” and more. I am then transferred to the claims department because the customer service representative is not able to answer any questions about the denial. The claims department then tells me that there must be another reason that the claim got denied, since evaporator coils should be covered under the warranty, but cannot tell me exactly what that reason is. I am told that I will receive a call the following day for a more detailed explanation of the denial. Suffice it to say, I am incredibly suspicious of their intentions since I am being told something that is blatantly false based on the written agreement that I am reading and the fact that I get different answers depending on who I am speaking to.
I never received a call the next day to discuss the claim further and at that point we had been nearly a full week without AC. I am cancelling this warranty plan and will likely never trust a warranty company again.
In summary, 2-10:
- Is slow to provide service;
- Denies claims without proper explanation, requiring the customer to investigate the reasoning themselves;
- Falsely asserts that certain parts are not covered under the warranty when their written agreement states otherwise;
- And does not follow up on claim denials when asked
Do not waste your time and money trusting this company to be there when you need them.
Edit: While attempting to cancel the warranty plan, I received yet another explanation for the denied claim; that being that the leak was considered “preexisting”, as in it occurred prior to the warranty being established. How did they determine that the leak had happened before I bought the warranty? No idea. It sounds like a vague, convenient standard they can use to deny any claims that don’t suit their targeted profit margins.
2-10 and American Home Shield are the WORST!!!
absolutely the worst experience...have gotten a terrible deceptive response...2 garage door springs covered under Pinnacle policy...sent out Winston Garage Doors....greatly inflated unnecessary additional need for uncovered items....had to call another company and replaced the 2 springs that are covered by my policy; however, I had to pay $706 to the 2nd company for springs
Stay Away
Used to be the best and then they were sold and now it's the worst home warranty company around. We need a new air conditioner unit and they are hardly paying anything where before when we needed a new unit they paid everything. They now have no providers in our area and because of this 2-10 told us to get out own provider and even after they approved everything they won't pay the diagnostic fee and the total bill was $8,600 and they only paid $2,200
Another scam warranty company
To CANCEL your 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for appliances: Thanks to AI, I was able to track down a specific phone number to cancel 855-280-1320, option 5 (of course they won't just put this on the website under the "Cancel" section...). They will then give you an email address to send an email to (Trustpilot won't allow me to include it here). Include your name, covered
property address, Service Agreement (Contract) Number and the effective date you want to cancel.
MY REVIEW:
Another scam warranty company out to make a buck while doing as little as possible. Had their coverage for a new home build which was useless (another story). I had purchased their supreme appliance coverage to cover all major appliances and systems. File a claim for a kitchen appliance and they "dispatch" a guy who never calls to set up an appointment. Check his reviews online and he is shady with horrible reviews- basically submits invoices that won't be covered by warranty and you get stuck with the extra bill. Request another appliance tech and they won't send one. They tell me I can find my own repair person if I provide them all their information to be approved by 2-10 first and then they will only reimburse them up to $250 and I have to provide them with all kinds of documentation and paperwork and pre-approvals and wait up to 60 days to be reimbursed-IF they approve it. I can smell all kinds of games and refusals to cover with that. I live 30 minutes from a major metro city and they can't find anyone who will work for them for what they contract. Their website portal is garbage and extremely frustrating, you can't email anyone with questions or clarification, every "contact us" button tells you to go through the portal which has no means of asking a question or contacting anyone. If you try and call, it is Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm business hours. I called several days in a row to cancel this warranty using their customer service number. It tells you all the time the wait time is in excess of 10 minutes and to make a selection to let them call you back. I have done this twice on different days and they don't call me back. If you try to stay on the phone and wait, the system basically forces you to select the call back option and will just hang up on you if you don't pick the call back option. This type of shady "customer service" practice just shows you they are either overwhelmed with calls, or simply want you and your issue to give up and go away.
Didn't cover AC repairs
Similar to others, I'v recently had two claims for AC repair denied. Isn't that the point of home warranty? Pay for repairs then replace if not fixed? While I like their pricing better then when I was with AHS, they don't have a good answer for not covering repairs.
RUN! Do not buy home warranty
HVAC tech came out aware of problem with ac but once he arrived he stated he didn’t know how to fix the issue. Customer service was no help. I requested escalation and was told a supervisor would call back but no one ever called back. I called multiple times with no solution then they finally closed the service request and when I filed a complaint with BBB they lied and said they would resolve. They closed the service request stating there was not another technician available to service my ac unit and nothing else to be done. Technician was incompetent, representatives were incompetent and no help. They just transferred calls from one desk to the next. A real scam of a company
Had this company as my home warranty…
UPDATE- file with your local AG and DIFI! my complaint was PROVEN and they were IN VIOLATION, this is public record. Please report this terrible company!
Had this company as my home warranty for 23 years, and it's been the worst 23 years of my life, after having a unit replaced 6 years ago within a year the unit failed and every year since then there has been a different mechanical issue, I'm calling 210 routinely and different HVAC contractors who are intentionally lying to me while I've spent over 30 days trying to speak with a claims supervisor who completely started to ignore and not return my calls and messages to speak with another supervisor for over 31 days as of today and I still have a broken unit running non-stop with an AC bill over $500 and a broken non-operational unit having to pay $100 copay each time while getting hours of the runaround on the phone, and blatant refusal of this company to transfer me to another higher tiered specialist and instead they put me on hold or send me to the survey line or outright terminate my whole call completely resulting in me having to start all over again and waste my time,
This house keeps my elderly mother cool and alive which is a basic human need in arizona, I might find her dead now entering August from heat exhaustion.
Avoid warranty companies for your life!!!
My experience with 2-10 Home Buyers…
My experience with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty has been extremely disappointing from start to finish.
I purchased the Supreme Plan with my home expecting meaningful protection if a major system failed. When my air conditioning system experienced a failed compressor, I expected the replacement coverage I paid for to provide a reasonable solution. Instead, I was presented with a confusing process and what I believe was an inadequate replacement proposal.
The company initially approved a compressor repair, then offered a cash-in-lieu option that was significantly lower than the stated repair authorization. The documentation also contained multiple "TBD" charges while simultaneously stating I could be responsible for additional non-covered costs. Despite repeatedly asking for clarification, I never received a clear explanation of what those costs actually were.
The proposed replacement raised even more concerns. It appeared to specify a 2.5-ton system without clearly identifying whether the existing air handler or other indoor components would be replaced, even though the current system is an older R-22 unit. I was never provided sufficient information to determine whether the proposed equipment would be a properly matched system or even appropriately sized for my home.
Communication throughout the process was equally frustrating. Emails often went unanswered, phone calls resulted in being transferred and left on hold indefinitely, and I ultimately had to file a BBB complaint simply to receive a substantive response. Unfortunately, even the BBB response largely repeated previous statements without addressing many of the specific questions I raised regarding the unexplained charges, equipment selection, and replacement calculations.
In my opinion, the warranty appears to offer far less practical value than its marketing suggests. When a major covered component failed, I was left trying to decipher unclear estimates, unexplained homeowner charges, and a replacement proposal that did not inspire confidence.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. I would strongly encourage prospective homeowners to carefully read every limitation in the contract and understand exactly how replacement claims are handled before relying on this company for major HVAC coverage.
DO NOT PURCHASE A HOME WARRANTY FROM 2-10 THEY'RE A SCAM COMPANY!!!
I regret ever signing up for a home warranty from 2-10. I submitted a hvac claim on 07-03-2026 and now almost 3 weeks later on 07-21-2026 I'm still waiting for my A/C unit to be replaced. For the past couple of weeks me and the hvac contractor company have been calling 2-10 everyday to get the correct pickup number for my new Lennox A/C from the warehouse. How hard is it for 2-10 to issue a legitimate pickup to my contractor to pickup the AC unit. 2-10 keeps giving me and the contractor the run around. If 2-10 doesn't rectify this situation within the next 2 business days I'm going to hire an attorney and sue 2-10 for breach of contract!
they website told us to login to Home…
they website told us to login to Home portal to request for service. This process looped around and we are never able to get the result. Horrible service. We also are not able to add our email. They web site all about selling. Because we got contract thru New Home Builder otherwise we would never buy their service. Terrible Service. All they do is sell and after that good luck.
Total scam
Total scam. Nothing is covered, despite having the premium package. Have to wait days to get a technician out and still have to pay the service fee if the issue isn’t covered by the warranty.
Absolutely worst experience possible
Absolutely worst experience possible. MY AC went out and I contacted 2-10. They directed me to their recommended HVAC company and set up a service call and I paid $89 up front for the call. When the tech arrived he informed me that I didn't have a valid warranty in the system (???) but went ahead and looked at the unit. He told me the unit needed to be replaced and would run around $8K. I contacted a HVAC repair company I'd used in the past and they replaced the unit for $6K. I was then told by 2-10 that they wouldn't cover anything because mold was the cause of the unit failing. The company that did the replacement said the cause had nothing to do with mold. Then 2-10 said they declined the case because I had the work done without receiving prior approval. It was 95 degrees out and my AC was broken.Whatever 2-10 could do to not be held accountable...
Zero stars
I would give 2–10 Home Buyers Warranty zero stars if I could. They seem to find absolutely any excuse to deny coverage, even for issues that should be covered under the warranty. After paying for the plan, it’s incredibly frustrating to still end up paying out of pocket for repairs.
Don’t waste your money on this warranty. You’re better off calling a qualified service technician directly when something breaks. In the end, you’ll likely save yourself both time and money—and avoid the frustration of fighting over denied claims.
My wife and I have had 210 send out the…
My wife and I have had 210 send out the worst contractor to repair our AC unit. Over the last three months, piedmont heating and air has been absolutely terrible with both repair work and customer service. To the point that we refused to let them in our home. We finally got the approval to have a contractor of our choice come to inspect and produce a diagnostic referral to have our unit replaced under our warranty coverage. It has been now 8 days since the contractor came out to our home. He is ready and able to preform the replacement but has been waiting on a call from 210 to get confirmation. They have not called him. My wife today has spent yet another hour and a half on the phone trying to get this resolved. Mind you for this week she has spent a total of nearly 8 hours on the phone between being on hold and getting called back. Today she was disconnected and once we finally had someone call back, we were told that the next phone call from someone that could help would be in 2 business days!!! Here in Ga, the heat index has been over 100 the last week. Now we will have to wait even longer with our kids, pregnant niece that is having a high risk pregnancy my wife that has been recovering from surgery and family pet in a home that has an indoor temperature that approaches 90 degrees on some days. This is an absolute joke of a warranty company. Piedmont, a contractor that 210 contracts with has failed to do this repeatedly over the last 5 weeks, yes 5 weeks. This is starting to smell like a better business bureau issue now.
2-10 WARRANTY IS A SCAM AND NOT WORTH PURCHASING
If I could give 0 stars to 2-10, I would. We had our HVAC system break down in the middle of summer, in high heat, with kids at home. After we went through the process and 2-10 agreed that no one could come out on an emergency basis, they gave us a preauthorization code to use an out-of-network contractor to fix the issue. Afterward, when we go to get reimbursed, they refuse to pay anywhere near the cost of repairs. This is straightforward lying, and I would not recommend a 2-10 warranty to anyone.
Used it 3 times
Used it 3 times, deny more claims than they honor, businesses sent to my home, unprofessional, dishonest and inconsistent quality of work. The process and coverage have so many loopholes to benefit the warranty co. A total waste of money.
