Ordered a 24x25 garage through Alan's Factory Outlet. Order process was easy enough, and it looked like I got a good deal. I ordered the double bubble insulation and that was installed on site, upgraded the frame to the 12 ga and the siding to 26 ga, color matched the garage doors. I wasn't concerned on what brand of roll up door would be provided as a read on their site that a chain operator would not be included but could be added by the customer. On some other forums I read that Alan's uses Janus roll up doors and I was familiar with their quality, but after the doors were installed, they looked different than what I had seen before and then to my surprise (a few weeks later) I found out that the drum end of the door is made of plastic and it uses a dead shaft vice a jack shaft so the normal chain drives wouldn't work and the power operators would work on the plastic drum. I know there are options as I have spent some time researching after I found out the doors are not "premium" as my order suggest, but those options are not the greatest and several of the contractors that I have contacted have said they would not feel comfortable installing most of those on shaft models from Amazon and just had one tell me of his experiences with the EasyRoller 14 where it broke one of these cheap plastic drums. The doors themselves only have a label stating Carolina Carports so no corporate brand, but it looks as if/when the spring breaks then the whole door will need to be replaced. After emailing and calling I have come to the conclusion that I was stupid for assume that I would not get a POS garage door and was told that I could have requested a special order (but why is this not an option). In summary the garage itself is nice enough, seems to have good build quality but any door less than 12x12 is trash, and also the "upgraded" steel door is a waste also. Not happy at all, I would recommend you ask all of the questions I didn't and just go with frame outs for any openings and use the garage or entry door of your choice.

The men working on the building worked like a well oiled machine. They were short handed but still did the job with speed and accuracy.

I'm in the ordering stage right now, but I rely like the straight forward pricing. Changes in the design with instant updated pricing juts a great feature, instead of e-mailing changes and waiting for updates. Also it is very helpful to know what the price of different additions and able to decide if I can skip that feature and happy with project instead of canceling the whole deal because it is more than I wish.

I just placed my order. I have not had any verbal communication with Alan's factory as of yet. They were very prompt in reaching out to me. I did hear from a close friend that they had an excellent experience with Alan's and look forward to having my car port installed. I have no doubt that the experience will be excellent as my friend had the utmost praises for Alan's.

Communication has been clear and quick. I was able to design my Carport exactly like I wanted.

Ease of use on website and quick response time

Ordered a garage nine months ago now. No word on if or ever it will be built. Every time I contact them am told it will be 60-90 days. Nine months is 270 days. Not even close. And no word if ever they will put it up.
