What Was Once 4-5 Stars Is Now 2 At Best

I've been with Aspiration (GreenFi) since 2019. I had no issues until...
1) I moved. Therefore my address changed. I went through the process of changing my address online (with all my online accounts, not just Aspiration). Bam! What does Aspiration do? Cancels my debit card with NO NOTICE whatsoever because it could not confirm my address. Long story short, I went weeks with no access to my money
2) My landlord (small local RE co. who doesn't do online) held my rent check (yes they require paper checks-ughhh) and when they finally deposited it, my checking account couldn't quite cover it (which is another sad, bad review on its own - how much rent costs!), BUT MY SAVINGS ACCOUNT HAD PLENTY. Even though GreenFi proudly states on its website that Overdraft Protection is one of its many offers for its customers, GreenFi did not apply OP. It bounced my check and did not return the papercheck. I had to write another check and pay a fine, not to mention my landlord distrusts me now. I did contact GreenFi CSR but it was typical of all CSR service now. (Yes, we do OP...oh, wait, you're an Aspriation account. Hang on, let me ask. No, sorry we dont offer you OP even though we say we do. But we didn't charge you a fine so you are all good. CSR didn't even address my landlord's fine. I made a complaint online but the email reply was the same, crazily. I've now made a complaint again, up the chain. Their reply - also the same. I will keep going on this out of principle + I want my money back! My check should not have bounced.

The world now is just crazy. It's like banks are carnival con-artists we have to fight for our own money! How is it legal for GreenFi to state in their rules/regs/etc that they give customers overdraft protection and then they just don't do it. How is this allowed? Consumers have NO PROTECTION at all!

Here's the craziest part...I've been searching for a new in-person bank (had my fill of online banks who start off great but 2 yrs in all of a sudden go to foreign call centers who treat me like I killed their dog). Almost all have 1 star (very bad ratings). I literally have no choices. For fun I looked up Aspiration/GreenFi reviews and it's 4 stars??? If Aspriation/GreenFi is 4 out of 5, I hate to think how bad all those 1 star banks are.

We as a society are going backwards in many ways; this is one of them. I guess I will have to put my money in my mattress, which is not the kind of person I am. I LOVED ELECTRONIC BANKING! I've been doing it for decades. This is all so disappointing, disheartening, enraging.

Don't sign up! Not worth it.

Literally the worst. I had an account with Aspiration for years. I then got an email saying my account email was changed to something I didn't recognize. No matter how many times I called, emailed, whatever, they said that they were "escalating" it so I can get control of my account back. Nothing. I eventually gave up because my account only had like $200 in it. Whoever the scammer was couldn't get my money because they didn't have my info. Fast forward to this year: I get a notice from the state saying this business has my money and to call them to claim it before it gets sent to the state. I called, verified my info, and was told a check was coming with my money. NO CHECK ever arrived! I called again in May because the notice said I had until May 31st to claim it. The idiot customer service person told me in broken english that it was already sent to the state. Completely wrong and incorrect. I escalated to a manager. The manager said she would email me with info of what happened to my money. That email of course never came. Now my money is being sent to the state and I won't see it for months because customer service here can't do their JOBS. I work in customer service and I would NEVER treat my customers like this. You all should be ASHAMED!

All was good for 5 years!!

All was good for 5 years.!! Then the company changed names and I happened to move again. It all went south from there! Won't allow me to change my address without passing off information that is of no concern to an online company. Sorry but you've gotten all that I am willing to give.. Really sad to close my accounts but not a worry someone else wants to earn interest on it!

RUN RUN RUN away from GreenFi

Could I give a lower rating? Aspiration was doing great before, but they have messed up how they send new cards (it takes them 3 weeks to send a debit card replacement), and they do not own up to mistakes. The CSR does not care if you decide to close 6-figure savings accounts, so here I am. I am done with them.

I was with Aspiration for more than two…

I was with Aspiration for more than two years and loved everything about. They handled the first time I had to deal with fraudulent charges in not time. They communicated,if they needed to call me back they did. They kept me totally in the loop. It took them four days. Going through it again.....for over a month. Zero communication unless I call, account frozen and then closed in the same day without any heads up. Over $1000 in a closed account due to investigation, after issuing me a credit and the correspond via email although never a reply ....ugh😮‍💨

Customer service virtually non existent

I've been with Aspiration (now GreenFi) since the start of the year and the customer service is virtually non existent. I sent an email with a question on 13 January and never received a response. To get the answer, I then called customer service, which wasn't able to give me the most basic info. On April 16, I pointed out in an email that I never received an answer to my first email, and expressed the hope that I would get an answer to a new question. In response to that... I got an answer to my first question (which I'd already figured out by going to my old bank), not my second. When I pointed that out in an April 8 email that response was... silence. Even if I love the cause, the card, the app, I'm in the market for a new green bank because I think a customer deserves customer service.

Very unhappy

I have never had any problem with Aspiration. But now with Greenfi, I cannot access my account. Money is still being transferred over from my primary bank account and I can't see it or access it. I have emailed with no help. Their email stated that my application was still being processed..?? I have been with Aspiration since 2021! I have just received a new debit card a few weeks ago because the old one expired!
Then I received an email stating if I didn't respond to their email the incident would be closed. But I HAD responded two days earlier with no help response.
I want to access my account to see my balance and to then close it. I do not like how this is going at all.

The transfer processing times are…

The transfer processing times are brutally slow. I’ve had transfers take more than 7 business days to complete and five business days is the norm. Basically if transfer money into an Aspiration account, don’t expect to have access to it for at least a week.

Long time customer

I've had an account with Aspiration for several years now. And it's been fantastic. With the low fees and green efforts I feel good in keeping my monies with them. One negative it IS an online bank so no branches and they have only basic banking (e.g., no loans, CD's) available. Regardless, I've never regretted banking with them. Customer service has always been great in helping answer questions and resolve issues.

This is the absolute worst bank that I…

This is the absolute worst bank that I have ever dealt with. I can't even deposit a county payroll check with them. They reject it every time. When I call to find out why, they tell me that I have to take it to the issuing bank and they can't provide any other reason. Every time I ask for a supervisor, no one is available, but they'll call me back. Never do. Same thing happens with money orders. Can't do cash deposits. It's not a new account either, it's been open for years. What's the point if I can't use it. Absolutely the worst

The worst bank I’ve ever dealt with in…

The worst bank I’ve ever dealt with in my life because of this bank a merchant was able to get the items back and still keep my money. The people that work for this bank are the worst people I’ve ever dealt with When it comes to banking. I would not recommend this bank for anybody I know unless it was my enemy. Good people shouldn’t bank here.

They are complete scam artists

They are complete scam artists. They took $10 from a $10 a month deposit for 4 years!!!!! I paid $10 in and they took it out for 4 years without telling me or me agreeing to it. They said it was “ pay what is fair” and now they won’t let me close the account if I don’t pay an inactivity fee cause I stopped the $10 a month.

Inactivity Fee For Simply Not Using the Card?

I used to use Aspiration a lot, but just closed my account after learning they are charging me for NOT using it. Plenty of other options, they are no longer useful for my finances. Used to be a good service, but I think charging me for simply not using the card is wrong.

They have drained the money out of my…

They have drained the money out of my account in "fees" for an account I forgot I had, now that there is not enough money to drain out for another monthly fee they send me an email that "Heads Up–Your Aspiration Account Balance is Getting Low"
