We spent 10 days in the Central Atolls with Aware aboard the Marselia Star, and it was an exceptional trip from start to finish. We surfed the full range of waves and spots — from mellow, playful sessions to pumping overhead barrels. James took care of everything personally and made sure the whole experience ran smoothly. The other surfers on board were genuinely likeable, and the atmosphere was fantastic throughout. All in all, a wonderful experience I can wholeheartedly recommend.

I spent 10 days on a boat trip through the Maldives Central Atolls, and it was an incredible experience. From the moment I booked, AWAVE took care of everything. They went above and beyond to answer all my questions and made sure every part of the trip ran smoothly. The organisation was excellent, the whole experience was completely stress-free, and I couldn’t have asked for a better trip. I highly recommend AWAVE to anyone planning a surf trip.

I’m still beaming with happiness after getting back from a surf trip with AWAVE to the Maldives on the Marselia Star! SO HAPPY! AWAVE cultivated an all-around amazing experience from fresh caught fish, luxurious rooms, expert surf guiding, and the most excellent group of people to share it all with. It was so easy to book the trip with James and he was super responsive and friendly to all my questions. The boat staff went above and beyond with service by anticipating our needs and they able to accommodate my dietary restrictions which is so important for me when traveling. I felt so taken care of! I will be back!!! :)

If I could give 6 stars, I would. Hands down one of the best trips I’ve ever taken - and James and his team made it so easy from start to finish. We caught so many waves, swam with some amazing marine life, slept comfortably, ate well, and had the best crew. It was hard to leave, but I can’t wait to book my next trip with AWAVE!

The trip to the Maldives on the Marselia Star boat was amazing! AWAVE did an incredible job organizing everything and connecting us with the best surf guide and photographer, the crew of the boat was stellar, food was great, we went to beautiful spots and the people we mey and connected on the boat made it all so special! Highly recommend it if you like surfing and having a good time

For those who appreciate real Hawaiian hospitality and country surf living this is the place . We have stayed in two of Mike and Susan’s properties, and though the sunset beach place is a bit more rustic, it was so so perfect for us ! Really felt like we were living the Hawaiian lifestyle albeit only for ten days. Away from the noisy road but close enough so you could be in the water at sunset beach within minutes. On top of this beauty was the best part, the aloha we felt from Mike, Susan and family. Their kindness is what made the place , would return in a heartbeat ! 🌺

We had a wonderful family surfing holiday with our teenagers in the Maldives. From start to finish Carlotta gave great advice, varied pricing options and helped with any last minute changes. The surfing was excellent & we also enjoyed snorkelling & relaxing on the beach. We stayed on Thulusdhoo & on Kandooma islands.

This is the 2nd boat trip to the Maldives, Central Atolls I’ve booked through James and AWAVE. Great communication throughout, really knowledgeable and easy to book with. The trip itself was epic again, great crew, guide and the waves were somehow even better than the 1st time.

Myself and 7 mates had 10 days on Blue shark 1 travelling Male and central atolls. Scored some great waves and even Sultans with no one else out. Surf guide was knowledgeable, top local bloke and communicated with other crews to co-ordinate surf sessions. Boat crew provided excellent service with great attitude all round, especially our chef - the food was top notch. Plenty of decent fishing in the downtime too. The crew sorted out the fish once landed on the good size backboard of the boat. James at AWAVE answered every query we had prior to the trip promptly and comprehensively. We just returned from a 10 day surf charter in the Maldives Central Atolls on the Gulfaam. Awave Travel made the booking experience very easy. James answered all our questions and gave us great recommendations based on his experiences. The Gulfaam crew was beyond amazing. The food was exceptional and the friendly crew made the boat feel like our home away from home! Lastly, Egan our surf guide/photographer is a legend! He consistently put us on uncrowded, unreal waves while taking thousands of professional pics! Every decision he made during the trip was the right one. When we needed a break from all the waves we were able to free dive/snorkel and fish. This was a trip of a lifetime and even better than our wildest dreams!

Refreshing to deal with such professionalism.

I booked a last minute trip which had multiple date shifts and criteria due to a family emergency. James gave quick honest helpful advice on dates and a suitable location. Having his local knowledge to guide decisions around which area to travel to, which resort to stay at and dates really made our trip.

In future I would rather book through Awave than direct with the resort - even though I have been there once now!

Absolutely amazing 8 day trip with my wife to Maldives visiting Club Med Kani. Carlotta at Awave travel was outstanding in organising everything and getting us the best deal,we are already looking at next year returning and will be sure to be booking with Carlotta and Awave again!
Club Med Kani is outstanding for everything, Surf spot in island is Ninjas,easy paddle from shore! Food,drinks,staff,surf guides,brilliant!!! Accommodation excellent!!
Tons of activities on island to enjoy, not just the surf!! Sailing, snorkelling, paddle boards, just to name some! Staff on the island added some very special touches to help us celebrate wedding anniversary also! Only regret was not staying 2 weeks!

My wife and I booked an 8 day surf charter on the Gahaa with a dedicated surf guide Moussa who was worth his weight in gold knowing what breaks would be firing and his knowledge of marine life and Maldivian environment enlightening for my wife and I

I have traveled extensively and surfed many parts of the world this trip truly exceeded my expectations the crew were incredible taking us to excellent surf and snorkeling locations

The boat itself is a converted fishing Dohni that exudes old world charm is clean and meticulously cared for.
The meals prepared for us were nothing short of exceptional excellent variety and plenty of it a mix of western and Maldivian fare

We are definitely coming back and certainly using AWAVE again
