This company were incredible! We used them for the first time and I have never used a moving company before.

The survey, quote and booking experience was smooth and I was kept informed through the booking.

On the day they arrived on-time and were very friendly. They worked with me to understand everything that required and started moving my stuff very quickly.
They got the whole house empty by 11:30 which gave us the perfect time to get our last bits done in the house.
We got our key and got to the house by the agreed 13:00 time and they were already there waiting.

The unpacking was spot on and I really appreciated how they handled each box with care, stacked them very nicely allowing to get easy access.

Nearly all the boxes were placed in the correct rooms, as stated on the boxes. This is a huge compliment and I would have got more wrong myself, if I did it.

Not that I plan on moving again, but I would 100% recommend this company and the staff, they fully deserve credit and their pricing was very competitive.

From my first contact with Bishops Move via email to the return of the furniture from storage I couldn’t be more pleased with the level of service and helpfulness of everyone concerned. Excellent value and throughly professional. A really people centred company.

Ours was not an easy move. Glen and the team provided an exceptional service, calling in extra support and working incredibly hard and long-hours. Their professionalism and can-do attitude was extraordinary.
The unloading was equally impressive, and luckily less pressured. Glen and Costa were again brilliant, and again went beyond my expectations including rebuilding an oak wardrobe and putting all the white goods in place so connection was easy.

A great team from start to finish. Tracy McCombe has been amazing. After visiting my home for the initial consultation, she was able to use her experience to explain the whole moving process and what was best for me to ensure a smooth move. She has been on hand throughout if I had any questions and has looked after me at all times. Giuseppina DiManno was also a contact who made sure all the right forms were completed and that I understood every part of the process. She has been really efficient and helpful. Finally, the moving team on the day were fabulous and I knew I was in good hands. They got the job done quickly and made sure I was happy with everything. A big thank you!

Fantastic service from start to finish. We use Bishop's Move to relocated my elderly mum from Bracknell to Hove. Everyone involved was friendly, professional and helpful. The move went smoothly even with very short notice to organise it. We used the packing service which was great and ensured everything arrived as it left. Thank you to the whole team.

Jack and the team were excellent! All very friendly and polite and took great care of our delicate items, always asking extra questions before assuming. We were having items packed for storage but also moved to temporary living. They were very careful to protect everything and helped get it all into the right places. Will be requesting the team again when we are ready to move back into our house.

A super.and very efficient service. The removal men Graham and Mike were courteous friendly helpful efficient and careful with our belongings. They arrived on time on both occasions and communicated with us well. We would highly recommend Bishops Move.

Great experience with Bishops removals, Giuseppina DiManno and the whole team. From the first phone call to the video survey and ease of booking my chosen date.
On the day the team were polite and friendly, efficient and unfazed by anything.
The whole experience took away all stress and when they arrived at my new home they were joined by two more of the team who helped speed up the unloading, a nice touch and great team work.

An excellent and complex job done really well by Bishops Move, we can’t recommend them highly enough. Highly professional from start to finish including excellent removal teams, ease of communication, clear guidance and support. Great care was taken at all times.

Having used Bishop's Move previously, I didn't hesitate to call them again. From my initial call onwards, everything was faultless. I was particularly taken by Tracey, who, arriving in the most atrocious weather, accompanied me around the property in the dark as if in Mediterranean sunshine! Once inside, she talked me through the removal process with meticulous care, assuring me at every step of the way. I felt my concerns and wishes were heard and that she was there to see me right. Despite being at the end of her day with a long journey home ahead of her, she made me feel as if there was all the time in the world. Thank you, Tracey.

I have engaged Bishop's Move to move 7 boxes (household items) with different size from England to Netherlands. I specifically mentioned that I am moving based on job and permanent transfer. I got a quote from them and scheduled a pick up from door step.

I got a UPS pick up person came to my door step to pick my boxes( I never knew that Bishop will engage UPS) .

It was picked up on scheduled day. The parcels reached to the Netherlands. But I got another invoice to pay Customs fee of around 71 EUR.

I called Bishops Move and asked whether they mentioned the baggage as household items based on permanent job transfer (because there is no custom tax at Netherlands as per the Tax department of Netherlands) , Bishops Move said yes it is mentioned and special code has been applied .

I called Netherlands Tax department and asked for the reason , they confirmed that the Bishops Move has not mentioned the correct code .

I again went back to Bishops Move and explained the situation to them . After couple of days again Bishop's Move said they applied proper code but since I have sent 7 boxes and it exceeds limit, Netherlands Customs has applied tax . I was literally shocked with such response .

Later I was clear on the stand and understood that Bishop's Move never attempted to resolve by raising it with UPS .

On top of it, they violated the GDPR compliance by sharing my personal information with UPS (my email details) to followup directly with me for getting my tax amount. (71 EUR) .

Then I explained the situation will all details with UPS and UPS managed to apply the proper code and waived off my tax by connecting with Netherlands custom tax department.

They are not professional in this matter and they don't know what they are doing . Unfit to be in this field of work .

Beware of them before engaging them for Household movements.

Bishop's Move were terrific and made our move so easy. The team were friendly and helped us so much with finishing off the packing. They tackled parking issues at both ends with ease, and nothing was too much trouble for them. We cannot fault our experience.

The team were professional and quick including moving some awkward bulky items. Communication was prompt and the price reasonable.

There was a lack of care at the far end however, with some damage to the walls from carrying furniture and some fragile items damaged by loading them into boxes carelessly that I've only just found out.

Overall an effective job but somewhat rushed.

From start to finish, their service was absolutely first-class. The team were professional, friendly, calm and incredibly efficient.

They arrived bang on time, handled all of my belongings with great care, and worked tirelessly throughout the day without complaint. Nothing was too much trouble - they were accommodating, respectful, and clearly very experienced at what they do. Everything went exactly as promised.

What really stood out was their attitude: positive, reassuring and genuinely kind, which makes a huge difference on a moving day. It felt like my home and possessions were in safe hands at all times.

If you’re looking for a removals company you can truly trust, Bishops Move are exceptional. I would use them again without hesitation and recommend them to anyone needing a smooth, stress-free move.

I had a quote from Tracey. We had a video call which was very thorough. Communication was excellent and Tracey couldn't have been more helpful. If ypu are looking to move I would definitely recommend you contact them.

Cumbersome process to get a quote finalised, higher prices than most and not great service. We got a quote for our move and I found out I had a discount code which they refused to apply even when I hadn’t made the booking yet. It made me feel like they would’ve given a higher quote upfront had I mentioned I had a discount code earlier which would’ve caused them to come to the same price eventually, with or without discount. I still decided to forego the discount and go ahead with the move since I am pregnant and signed a confirmation for the move (but had not received a payment link yet). I then got sent an email saying the previous quote had been incorrect and that they needed to update it and increased it by approx £400. I then decided to not go ahead with it.

We used Bishops Move TWICE in 8 months having not moved for over 28 years and they were great both times !! Chris and the boys were extremely accommodating and cheerful. Hopefully we won’t have to move again but I would use them in the future and highly recommend them.

Used Bishops Move as we had struggled to find a local firm at short notice. It was a very long day for them and took two lorry loads.. But the team were absolutely lovely and professional and despite the delay whilst waiting for the completion to come through, ensured that we were unpacked as quickly as possible at the other end. It was a solid effort by the team who were absolute powerhouses and everything was carefully handled, and not a single breakage or damage to anything.
Would 100% recommend.

Avoid Bishops Moves at all costs – especially if you are elderly, vulnerable, or expect a professional service.

My elderly mother was downsizing with very few belongings left to move. Bishops Moves gave us what looked like a reasonable quote, and THEY suggested doing the move over two days (Thursday and Friday). This was not our request – it was theirs.

We agreed, even though it was inconvenient, and we arranged accommodation for my mother so they could work the way they wanted.

However, when the move happened, Bishops Moves denied ever arranging a two-day move and claimed they had emailed my mother to confirm. She is not a technical person and did not even realise she needed to reply, or saw the email.So

Instead of following up with a phone call (which any responsible company would do), they simply decided that silence = agreement, scheduled the move for Thursday, and turned up despite the fact we did not have keys to the new property until Friday.

My mother only became aware of this on the packing day and was then blamed and charged £750 for overnight storage — even though the situation was entirely their own making.

It gets worse.

Prior to this, when the chain broke, despite us giving them plenty of notice, Bishops Moves still charged over £700 in additional fees, making the most stressful point of the move even more financially punishing. When we challenged is they said they will cancel our move if we did not pay up!

We then discovered damage to belongings, and damage caused inside her retirement property. The claims process is clearly designed to make people give up:
• Endless back-and-forth
• Unhelpful staff
• Delays, excuses, and shifting responsibility
• No proactive communication whatsoever

It was so draining that in the end we abandoned the first claim altogether, which I suspect is exactly what Bishops Moves rely on.

In summary:

❌ They ignore vulnerable customers
❌ They hide behind email and claim “no reply means consent”
❌ They profit from their own mistakes
❌ They charge extortionate fees at moments of maximum stress
❌ Their claims process is deliberately obstructive
❌ They damage property and then drag out complaints hoping you’ll quit

This was an incredibly upsetting experience for my mother, who deserved care and professionalism — not blame, charges, and months of stress.

There are many reputable removal companies out there.

Bishops Moves is not one of them.

On a foot note, the actual removal chaps were very nice and looked after my Mum nicely. Shame about the business behind them though.

They will reply with a sympathetic message and to contact them, this is just a rouse to make this review not stand out, I have spent forever pk the phone with this company, they are no interested.
