Breathing Otter Avis 

Ordered 2 of the Stitch+Friends breathing toys, from what I thought was a UK company, and my first concern was when I used the Tracking provided I could see the toys were coming from China not the Uk.
Second concern was how cheaply they were wrapped - both in a cellophane bag and a slightly padded mailing envelope.
Third concern was how noisy these “soothing” toys were. At this point I emailed the company, via my order confirmation email, asking for a refund and a returns label so that I could send them back as I thought they may have been “knock-offs” and perhaps not safe to use with a young child.
My fourth concern, which really set off alarm bells, was the fact that neither toy had a CE label - in fact, no labels at all.
At this point (Tuesday 25/11/25) I emailed again asking them to contact me by the 27th or I would contact my bank and the Trading Standards office. I also emailed them directly from the “contact us” link on their web page (no contact phone number - concern number five).
On the evening of the 25th Nov I received an email saying they were sorry I wasn’t happy with the product and had issued a full refund.
This morning I received an email via my SHOP app letting me know I’d received a refund and it could take up to 10 days to show in my bank.
Not showing yet but fingers crossed it will soon.
I wish I’d checked Trustpilot before ordering but the web page looks really convincing with lots of 4 and 5 star reviews.

Awful awful awful. Annoyed at myself for being fooled. Very poor quality product. Want me to send the product to America for a refund. Even though the sending address is in the UK. Don’t spend your hard earned money here!

A weighted toy that isn’t weighted, isn’t the size advertised, and took 2 weeks to arrive. A total scam.

I didn’t mean to sign up for repeat orders, it was a mistake. The gummies make me feel nauseous and slightly dizzy. I wrote to the company and explained I didn’t want anymore, but they want me to pay to cancel the contract. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

My delivery has just arrived, and I must express my extreme disappointment. The overall quality is far below expectations.

The Koala cannot even be cuddled due to the large and obtrusive battery pack positioned at the back. The zip is substandard and repeatedly catches on the material, which makes it feel cheaply made.

I specifically chose your company because the Amazon versions appeared to be of poor quality — yet, upon receiving your product, it is evident that yours are no better. The only difference seems to be more polished marketing and photographs that grossly misrepresent the actual item.

I paid double the price of the Amazon alternatives, expecting superior craftsmanship. Instead, I feel completely misled and disappointed.

Awful, wish I had checked here first. Took 2 weeks to arrive and was a shoddy knock-off made in china. No safety mark- unsafe to give to a child. I asked to return and refund twice and they first tried to fob me off saying 'swnd me a video of the issue' I said no just tell me where to send it and they told me to send it to California! I bought from the UK website.. SCAMMERs. Will also be reporting to Action fraud and raising a dispute via my bank

I ordered two of their so-called “weighted” plush toys — a sloth and a triceratops — and they are not weighted at all, just a few beans in the arm ends. The Triceratops weighs 396 g and the Sloth 414 g, far too light to be genuinely weighted. The Triceratops is also shorter than advertised (43–44 cm instead of 45 cm), and the arms on both are too short to stay around the neck as shown.

For context, NHS and occupational therapy guidance suggest smaller weighted products (like lap pads or shoulder wraps) should be about 5 % of body weight to provide any calming or sensory benefit. At roughly 400 g, these toys would only be suitable for a toddler weighing around 8 kg — yet the website shows adults using them and claims they are “for all ages.”

I’ve reported the company to Shopify for misleading product descriptions and will also be contacting Trading Standards, Action Fraud, and my Visa chargeback team.

There is no sensory or deep-pressure value whatsoever. For the price, it’s an absolute rip-off. I’ll report back here if I get anywhere with my refund.

Despite being told my order would be shipped and delivered within 5 days I am still waiting for my order almost three weeks later. Wish I’d read trust pilot before I ordered anything. Honestly do not touch this website with a barge pole.

If I could rate these products with less than 1 star I would. These products are absolutely NOT worth the money you pay for them the packaging and website is also false advertising are they do it come in any of the advertised packaging.

My order took over 3 weeks to be delivered and when it arrived everything was crammed In to a shoddy post bag. Nothing g like the high quality packaging I’d have expected! No instructions, no care given.
The quality of the penguin is awful, with threads hanging from the seams and glue all around the wiring.
There is also no volume control, so it being advertised as a soothing health product is completely misleading as it’s so loud & unsoothing I’ve no idea how anyone can sleep with it.

The quality of the koala and otter are really bad with threads hanging from the seams and glue all around the wiring.
I don't feel confident leaving these with my children so have asked for a refund. Their refund policy is that they are under no obligation to refund if you change your mind, only if there is something wrong. So it's not looking promising.
Avoid at all costs and go with the Fisher-Price alternative, better quality products and the ability to return if you're not satisfied.

Again I would prefer zero stars.

This company is a scam. No product after 2 months and no refund despite being promised it from their Chinese customer service. It’s not a uk company.

I would have 0 stars if an option, if only I had read the reviews before wasting my money! The website lBreathing Otter UK states they are the “original”. I thought I was buying from a UK company, There was an original mix up with the order which meant only 1 was shipped despite 2 being in the basket, This actually turned out to be a blessing. When it finally arrived from China scrunched up in a plastic bag, it was smaller than anticipated with a hard plastic centre, back is Velcro fastened with wires etc easily assessable. Once you have it working the mechanism is loud hardly relaxing the lullabies tinny, and after its cycle it abruptly stops. It has the opposite effect of calming. I suspect this is a very cheap knock off and even with the reported 50% off a complete waste of money.

There website is breathingottersuk which leads you to think items are in the UK. In fact they come from China.
I purchased an item I had seen in the UK, but the one I received had all the instructions in Chinese.
The delivery time is also extremely long.
I asked for a refund and was told I needed to return the item to China.
The advertising is extremely misleading, at no time did they state that item was from China and that the delivery period would be so lengthy.
I would avoid them at all costs!

No confirmation email of the order ,
Been two weeks since the ordered and still hasn’t received it.
I wish I would researched about this company before I placed the order.

Firstly the website is deceiving, this item is a cheap item that comes from SHEIN. Paid extra to get shipped quickly, took 2 weeks. Not surprised as shipped from China. Item arrived very poorly packaged. Within a few seconds of opening I knew I had been scammed. So cheap and nasty! Several holes in stitching, no safe cover for battery compartment. As for breathing part- not gonna help anyone get to sleep, obviously not working as it should. I would think twice before giving to a child or baby. Luckily I paid on PayPal and got my money back. Do not fall for this scam!

AVOID. Awful company. Working from China POSING as a UK company. They are ignoring my emails, haven’t received the item and won’t give me a refund. AVOID.

This product is awful. It’s hard, the breathing sounds like gasping last dying breath and the movement of the belly goes concave.
Customer service is not helpful, will not assist me in returns despite their return policy.
Also to note, it took weeks to get it in the first place.
