I had a horrible experience with Brite Star Moving Company. Initially, they persuaded me to sign the contract with them by kind promises of assistance before the move. However, this turned out to be false as they ignored my calls for help continually. After signing, their service quality plummeted from 10 to ZERO. The pickup coordinator was incredibly rude, yelling at me multiple times due to her inability to grasp my frustration over the unexpected price increase. My contract estimated the cost at approximately $1,900, yet on moving day, the price surged by an additional $500. This was baffling because I was assured by the representative that the price would remain fixed unless I added more items to the shipment. Contrary to adding, I also removed two items, but the cost still escalated. They have proven to be dishonest, and I suspect fraudulent practices. Now, this is their tactic: I am about to expose them. They quote you one price, and then on moving day, the driver claims your furniture exceeded the allotted space, demanding additional payment to ship the remaining items because you have to pay for the extra space. The driver also throw in my face that it was only an estimate, and not the final cost. The final cost is not presented to you until pick up day. So, despite assurances that my price would remain fixed, it did not. Furthermore, even when I mention about customers saying this happened to them, they deflect blame onto the customers, claiming price increases are due to additional items being added, but it's all a lie. Read the customer review because this company is also not trustworthy just like the rests of them. If multiple customers report similar issues, it indicates a systemic problem. I anticipate they will use this defense against me also after this review is published. Also, read your contract thoroughly because AFTER YOU MAKE THE FIRST INIALLY PAYMENTD THIER IS NO REFUNDS, so I had no choice but to proceed with the service since I had already paid an $800 upfront fee. However, what struck me as odd was the representative's demeanor; it seemed as though she took pleasure in telling me this. Nice to get your business but afterward their true face is shown. So, now since I know how this company and other work, I am going to tell everyone about their deceitful practice. Without a doubt, this is a dreadful company.

This company is very misleading. My relative was told they would send their on truck, not a 3rd party to move her. They show up on the wrong date, a pitiful looking truck that looked like it was on its last leg, no identification and one (1) man and he was the driver! The inside was messed up around the roof line, her furniture surely would have been in danger of weather. The truck was not the size she had ordered, much smaller. She didn’t trust them so she refused to let the guy load her furniture, now they are refusing to refund her money she had paid because they say she broke her contract. THEY broke her contract by trying to send a piece of junk to move her from Ky to Florida. Beware of this company…they lie, lie. Their customer service girls hang up every time you try to call and explain. It’s pitiful that they would treat a 81year old woman like that when she is on social security and can’t afford to dish out any more money to get moved! It’s a disgrace! There is nothing bright about Bright Star Movers, quite the opposite!

Horrible company. Do not trust anything anyone says at this company.

If you know their name and phone number. Report them to 911. These are frauds. And your luggage is probably gone. I have to hide my email address to prevent retaliation from these frauds. If the owning company does not want to be reported to consumer bureau or the police they should promptly call and return the money collected from all their customers.

Misleading Practices and Poor Service

I am deeply disappointed with my experience with Brooks Harris and BrightSTar Moving Company. I hired them for my move from Michigan to Texas. They gave me a reasonable quote at the time of booking which was increased by $500 the day before my scheduled pickup. The price was further doubled at the time of pickup.

When I initially booked their services, I was assured that they owned their trucks and that my belongings would be transported directly in a small 15-foot truck, with delivery expected by Tuesday, June 24th, weather permitting. However, none of these promises were upheld.

On the day of pickup, I discovered that this company is actually a broker, not a direct service provider with their own trucks. My belongings were loaded onto a large truck and sent to a warehouse instead of being immediately transported as agreed. As of today, my items have still not been picked up for delivery, and there is no confirmed delivery date in sight.

This misleading information has caused immense inconvenience, especially since I arrived in Texas expecting my belongings to be there. I have to spend money by living in an airbnb now.Despite numerous assurances, the company has failed to fulfill their commitments.

I urge potential customers to be cautious when dealing with this company as their practices are not transparent and they do not honor their promises. I am currently exploring legal options due to the mishandling of my move and the severe disruption it has caused.

An elderly friend hired this company for her move. They didn’t show up when scheduled - rescheduled three times before they showed up late. Halfway through the packing (although the mover had walked around and taken pictures of the apartment the moment he arrived), the mover told her it was more than they realized, doubled the price and then told her he would do no more until she signed a waiver and got a cashiers check for the amount (when originally they told her she would wire them the funds at the completion of the job). The mover then demanded the check before he would unload the truck at her new location. Extortion! My opinion is they took advantage of her because she was elderly. Do not use this company.

Her contract said “white glove” move. Most of her boxes are not marked so she has no idea what they contain. A walk through her old apartment found items they had left, as well as rubber feet belonging to pieces of furniture.

Also, after the nightmare of doubling the price, the mover said her beds were adjustable and would cost extra. When he was told to leave them, we would have friends move them ourselves, he backed up and said his boss said he wouldn’t charge extra. Wasn’t that kind?!! DO NOT USE this company!!

This company Did not Show up when they was suppose too, and did not call when they were Suppose too.
They kept changing the Price. I finally call another company, I got the same Job For !/2. Bright Star kept changing the Price, for the move. I say stay away from this company,
They refused to refund my funds , so I am in Dispute with my credit Card company to get my funds returned.

I was not sure what to expect. Once you input your information online, you start to get a million calls and it is hard to tell what to do.

Josh made this extremely easy for me and created a sense of ease that I cannot express in words.

To top it all off, the move went flawless and I IN FACT had less than I was quoted so they reduced my total price on site.

Used these movers services for our house move. We’ve moved a couple of times but must say this has been our most stress less move to date, from survey to move day, the team arrived on time and nothing was too much trouble at all, our house contents were moved, protected and transported with care, Fantastic job, can’t fault them.

Everything from pick up to delivery is absolutely fantastic. Not one thing was damaged. I recommend them wholeheartedly. Thank you so much.

Awesome team. They never stopped working. They were all courteous and Communicated well. If I ever need to move again, I will use them.

The customer service was just fabulous. Always available, and the response time was way too quick. Pickup was perfect and on time. Overall, my experience was splendid and I would recommend them.
