This pc is dogshit. Lagging 24/7 freezing etc. Nothing but issues and problems i am having to PAY to ship it to them when i have a warranty. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!!!

Worst computer EVER

Worst computer EVER! I got it for my boyfriend he was so excited and it's crap. He build his original PC and has had it more than ten years zero problems. Purchasing this computer was such a huge regret and waste of money. It constantly shuts off or freezes or other issues. He's tried everything to fix it and no luck. We were better off, him keeping his old one which we gifted to our son or buying one at Costco. Biggest disappointment ever. Don't bother wasting your money. Worse experience. Wish we never bought it.

10-15 DAYS WAS THE ESTIMATED SHIP DAY AND WHAT MADE ME PURCHASE THROUGH THEM

EMAILED THEM 3.18 (15TH DAY FROM OG EMAIL) TO FIND OUT THE EARLIEST I WOULD GET PC IS MID APRIL, END OF APRIL THE LATEST DUE TO GRAPHIC CARD SHORTAGE.

I THINK THEIR BIGGEST ISSUE IS LACK OF COMMUNICATION WITH THEIR CONSUMERS WHICH THEN LEADS TO THEM LOOKING AT REVIEWS AND FINDING OUT THE MOST COMMON PROBLEM WITH BUILD REDUX IS TRANSPARENCY.

I EMAILED THEM THIS MORNING ASKING TO CANCEL MY ORDER.

Ordered a Computer from them 3/6/25…

Ordered a Computer from them 3/6/25 said its 3-5 days to process the order then 10-15 to ship it which is fine i emailed after 15 days of no updates to be told itll be about another 25 or so days or so to get it shipped then just requested a cancellation. Also dont really like that they dont give specifics of the parts memory just says dual band ddr5 not what brand or what speed same with some of the other components.

To be honest I was looking for my first pc and turned to build redux and my money was just burned in a fire pit, even though I payed for it they clearly didn't test the pc to make sure it work I got the pc and instantly had problems as soon as I turned it on. Worst experience I don't recommend.

Review of Build Redux

I recently ordered a high-end PC from Build Redux, excited by their offerings and reputation. However, my experience has been quite disappointing.

Initially, I was informed that my order would ship within 10-15 business days. After weeks of waiting, I was suddenly told of an industry-wide graphics card shortage, with options to downgrade or pay extra for an upgrade. To make matters worse, I learned that NVIDIA stopped production of the RTX 4000 series months before I placed my order, yet the website still advertised the RTX 4080 Super as available.

This lack of clarity and timely communication has seriously impacted my trust in their business practices. It’s crucial for potential customers to know that the website may not reflect real-time inventory, leading to confusion and frustration.

I hope Build Redux improves its communication and keeps its website updated for future customers. Until then, I would recommend looking elsewhere if you want a smoother purchasing experience.

Disappointing company and shameful…

I ordered my computer from Build Redux in December of 2022. I chose this company because of a few reasons.

One, I fell for the Linus Tech tips ads. Two, the build was very reasonably priced at the time. Three, they were one of the only places that had the RTX 4090 in stock at the time with no expected delivery delays. These last two are intertwined; in late 2022 it was almost impossible to find the 40-series cards, and if you could, the mark-ups were gargantuan.

The issues first started with the delivery time. The build was estimated to be complete in 2-3 weeks. As time went on, the build received no updates. It was stuck in a "waiting to be built" queue until after it was supposed to be delivered. I reached out to customer service repeatedly. The help team would take days to respond and never had anything to say. If they were having supply issues like everybody else, it should have been disclosed, as their attractive build times was a big part of their value proposition. Eventually they offered to refund $50 for shipping (On a $4k+ computer, a <1.25% discount). If I had known it would take until February 2023, almost three months later, I would have refunded the whole thing in December.

The computer arrived in good shape, looked good and ran well. Some weird bios stuff needed to be fixed (case fans at 100% all the time even under no load) but nothing apparent.

The big problem with the computer wasn't BuildRedux's fault. The i7 13700kf that I'd ordered unfortunately has been affected by the degradation issues plaguing multiple 13th and 14th gen Intel processors. I've spent hours hunting down crashes to rule out any other problem- I've re-downloaded Win11 (ugh), updated my BIOS for the CPU "fix", etc. Unfortunately, I'm still greeted my BSODs and 2/3-or-so games I try to play will no longer even start.

As my warranty approaches its end, I finally threw in the towel and decided to reach out to BuildRedux to resolve this problem. The Intel issues are well-documented at this point and I thought there would be no problem. After following their guides for the Win11 reinstall and BIOS update noted previously, the system was still as unstable as before. I asked if there's any way I could swap the processor (I've built all my previous computers) so they could test the old one or whatever they wanted to do, and they refused. The only option they're giving me is to send the whole computer back to them for 3 weeks of testing with additional charges if I don't use every piece of the original packaging.

Now, I didn't buy this spec because I need it for Excel, but that doesn't mean it isn't used for work. I use my computer professionally as well as for recreation, and having my computer out for what will be at least 4 weeks, if I am to be naive enough to believe their timeframe again, is completely unacceptable. I've explained this and asked for any alternative solution, but have been told it's their way or the highway.

Overall, I spent $4k for a computer that took absurdly long to build, has had basically nonexistent support since day 1, and which now I need to spend several hundred more dollars to fix because BuildRedux has designed their policies in a way to minimize the amount of customers willing to endure the massive inconvenience it takes to get their computers fixed.

I'm embarrassed that I fell for the advertising and I didn't request a refund months before I ever received this pile of junk. If my old computer hadn't finally given up after a decade I would have just waited for supply to normalize, and I really wish I had. I will never advise anybody to shop with this company. Spend a few extra bucks elsewhere, it may save you big-time in the long run.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience, I reached out after my delivery window came and went. The response I got was that a part was unavailable but they were building the rest of it regardless. Then had the audacity to try and sell me a more expensive part. One they’d have to order and extend my wait. With a discount? Nope! Rushed delivery? Nope! Just pay us more and you might get a computer. Awful company, avoid at all cost.

Tried charging $582 more because they…

Tried charging $582 more because they didn’t have the parts I ordered and paid for. Waited almost an entire month to be told this after me having to reach out to them. Tried relying their order tracker on the website, turns out it was lying the whole time. Went through all the steps of the build and I noticed on the 6th step it was taking longer than usual for quality assurance before packing. I reached out and was met with a supposed extra month delay and that they would charge me extra due to the graphics card I ordered no longer being in stock and they had to replace with a newer card. Had they maybe give a discount or at least honored the price I would’ve probably went with them but after no resolve I had to ahead to cancel my order. My advice is to stay away and pay the extra money elsewhere when trying to do a custom build.

Have things changed?

I ordered a PC from them and they really made sure that it wasn't a fraudulent purchase so the security was good. I then looked to Reddit and on here to read reviews (I should have done that before making the order) and got worried so I canceled my order and they responded quickly and there was no hassle. I didn't expect the quick customer service after reading other reviews.

They try to make you pay double for a different computer after you waited a month for them to ship the computer you ordered, just to find out the computer you ordered wasnt actually an option and they had no intent of ever delivering the computer. Basically just a scam

...SCAM... Took over a year after I first received a paper weight I paid thousands for to recieve a working pc. After a year the components are obsolete. Zero customer service. Zero care after they have your money. Pray it works and you don't have to use their warranty. They refused to honor their clearly stated warranty. This company is a scam. I still have issues they said they would resolve. Broken headset. Fans don't adjust to workload causing overheating. +. SCAM SCAM SCAM

BUILD REDUX: STAY AWAY!!!

Worst computer I've ever had the misfortune of owning. Worked fine for the first two months maybe then videos began to stutter, with a loud BRRRRRR noise and the CPU eventually overheated and the PC would no longer display when rebooted.

Two lights, one red under CPU and one yellow under RAM displayed on the motherboard, eventually sent the PC back for repairs.

Recieved PC back from the repair shop sometime last week and it ran fine for about... three or four days tops. Now it turns out that the Windows is corrupt. Get a blue screen with error code 0xc00000f.

Tried to run UEFI and when attempting to select ANY option settings etc. It freezes and does nothing, while stuck in UEFI a yellow light comes on under the "boot" section on the motherboard.

Trying to reboot the computer, the previous two lights which had previously gone away return and now the computer is again, essentially unusable.

I had emailed the repair technician asking about any parts he may have replaced/repairs he may have done and it turns out that no parts have been replaced (several of which at this point I'm fairly certain are faulty themselves) but the CPU had been "reseated" windows was reinstalled and the computer was supposedly in proper working order!

I have sent yet ANOTHER series of emails to the various support emails addresses but at this point I'm about fed up and feel like I may as well bin the sucker.

That's about $2,700 down the TOILET.

Stay AWAY from Build Redux. They fill their computers with faulty parts and don't even bother replacing them when you send it off to be "repaired".

Awful product, awful waste of time and money.

Awful disappointment. I've had some crummy computers in my time, but this sucker takes the cake, hands down.

I GAVE $4K TO THE SCAMMERS

I GAVE 4K TO THE SCAMMERS AND I DONT HAVE A COMPUTER. I bought a top of the line machine from them, picked all of the best parts, and after a month of owning my machine it began crashing constantly. I spent hours and hours trying to get it optimized for months. I was sure this must be user error, I went back and forth with chat gpt going through every aspect to try and find why my top of the line computer couldn't run discord or install chrome. Finally I called a local professional to help me get it running right at $90 an hour. After hours going through my machine we finally took it all apart and discovered that the cooling system for my CPU was not installed properly and that my CPU had been running WAY too hot for the whole time I had the computer. Upon contacting build redux support it was like they did everything they could to dissuade me from sending my computer back to them for repairs, they made me feel like I was stupid and just didn't understand how computers work. They refused to take accountability and forced me to buy an additional $150 box from them to ship the computer back in, and also to remove my nvidia GEforce 4090 GPU and send that seperately (another $70 shipping) and that I would be liable for any damages to it. After they had my device for over a week they finally took a look at it and *SHOCKER* my i9 CPU was totally busted. Their support was slow to respond and unhelpful throughout, no one will take accountability for their mistake. I finally got in touch with their "Sr customer experience manager" John Sweger and he's the coldest of the bunch. Offered me a $75 credit he knows I can't use on anything and denied responsibility for every complaint. All in on this I bought a $3600 machine, spent MONTHS and another $400 trying to get it to work and sending it back, and here I am without a computer for MONTHS. Apparently I should have a working computer within the next week but this experience has been hell. I have NO FAITH that I'm getting new/functioning parts on my machine and that it will be the machine I need it to be when it finally arrives. if you're considering build redux, consider that they are probably going to sell you the completely busted i9 CPU they removed from my system after they clean it up and dust it off.

Don't buy from Build Redux

I bought my computer back in December of 2022, after about a year the computer started to have issues with blue screening a lot. I did my own troubleshooting and tried to do a full format and reinstall of windows. That was not helping, I contacted their support and ran through all the troubleshooting with them and they found nothing wrong but I was still having issues. I setup and RMA, and they sent me a box and some foam to put around the outside of the computer case to ship it back. I did so and now they are rejecting my warranty cause it was damaged in shipping back to them. The GPU and motherboard, I was not told or sent anything from Build Redux to put inside the case for shipping it back to them. Never buying from them or any other computer builder again.

Great experience with them, recommended

I ordered my PC in very late November - and i knew this was a busy time for them. The got me the PC in 4 weeks - and when I asked about the status, support was super helpful! I just got the system, and - in opposition to other reviews, ALL hardware in here is brand new (you can tell), cable management is first class, the build is great, BIOS settings were proper ( even the XMP memory settings), and support has been stellar. They even checked up on me after my ticket was done and system delivered (I had a bit of hassle with FedEX nothing to do with BuildRedux). Benchmarks are exactly what I wanted. I fully recommend them to anyone!! discliamer, I am NOT paid for this, and do not work there... I am a rando

File a complaint with the BBB

I highly recommend that, if you received defective equipment from Redux, you file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I have seen enough real feedback compared to their purchased reviews to know financial fraud when I see it. It is illegal to intentionally sell defective equipment with the intent of deferring revenue loss. The BBB (bbb.org) knows Redux, Inc of California. That's who you would file your complaint against, just as I filed mine. It's obvious I made a mistake with this company. Don't repeat my mistake!

It is truly too bad the rating does not go into negative numbers because that is the way I feel about this tremendous waste of money and time, first off when I first received my system on 4/22/2023 I was truly excited to have my first real gaming system I thought I was enjoying the gaming experience with it fast loading no issues with gaming was able to run multiple games at once due to having dual 34” monitors and then all of a sudden you know kinda like when the warranty runs out on your vehicle and everything stops or breaks yeah that is pretty much what happened here they apparently they sent me a system that has an outdated BIOS and when I ran updates for everything to include the video card well my monitors would not come on so I could complete the simple task of updating the BIOS and when I reached out to Robert Romero with Build Redux he informed me that I was out of luck on getting my money back since I was well out of the 30 refund window, there is a reason they only give you 30 days because they know there systems are crap.
I personally would not recommend spending yoru hard earned money on this GO BUILD YOUR OWN system for much cheaper do not believe the HYPE in their advertisements.
