This company is completely terrible.

This company is completely terrible. It is by far the worst customer service you can expect to get.
If there is anything wrong with computer be expected to pay a 15% Restocking fee. The customer service is beyond terrible and they really don't care enough to actually help you. I turned on my brand new computer and it wouldn't turn on. I did all of the tutorials. I paid over $4,000, I took it to Best Buy Geek Squad and sent it back. It took 1 week for them to inspect it. Then it took another week to figure out what was wrong.
If you get paired with a customer service agent called Robert Romero there is nothing you can do at that point. It's all over. Good luck returning your computer. And still be expected to pay the 15% Restocking Fee.
This is a terrible company.
Please spend your money elsewhere.

I wish I could give negative numbers…

I wish I could give negative numbers for reviews and scream out to everyone "DO NOT PURCHASE FROM BUILD REDUX".
We ordered a custom PC in November 2022. We finally received it the last week of January 2023. The box it came in was undamaged, but the PC casing was dented in and the graphics card was busted. We sent the graphics card back to them at their request. We then waited another 6 weeks, and after several calls and emails, we were notified that the graphics card was not going to be replaced unless we paid for it, as it was our fault for not packing the graphics card correctly and that is why it didn't work. After going back and forth with "Nathan" and "Phillip", we gave up and purchased another graphics card from Best Buy in September 2023. We installed the graphics card, and the computer refused to power up. We took it in to Geek Squad, who told us that the power supply was not working. We purchased another power supply. When we got it home and powered it up, we went down the list and discovered that the 2TB HDD was missing. So in all, we have been fighting this for almost a year from order placement, and have had to invest over $2000 into a machine we paid almost $4000 for to begin with. No one will return our calls or email us back. When they do answer their "customer service" line, there is NEVER a manager available. We have tried involving the BBB, the Attorney General's office. I guess if we want our money back we will need to hire a lawyer.
So if you are thinking this company is the one you want to go with...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

Installation Box not included

I placed an order on 4/1/23, received my computer on 4/26/23. The installation box that included cables, etc. was missing, we emailed them back on 4/27/23 about this. Then a series of emails back and forth with them promising to send the missing component is still going on today 5/23/23.

Absolutely dreadful experience

I already have a separate gaming PC, but decided it was time for an upgrade so I decided to try Build Redux based on the Youtube reviews and sponsorships along with the small up-charge fee and short shipping time frame. This sounded too good to be true but thanks to Linus Tech Tips and many other channels giving good reviews, I was convinced. However, it has been an absolutely dreadful experience. The only customer support rep that i’ve been in contact with, Philip, is extremely unprofessional and lacks a sense of transparency. I ordered my PC on March 7th and was initially notified that my PC would ship in 15-20 business days instead of the normal 10-15 because of back logged orders and shortage of parts. After 22 business days I sent another email asking when I could expect my PC to ship and I was told within the business day or two it would. Five business days later I emailed again to check on the status and was met with an apology and another extension of the shipping date by another 2-3 business days at the most. Today I emailed support again, being the third day of the second shipping date extension, and received a reply stating that Philip had ‘entered my order information in incorrectly’ and ‘gave me incorrect information on the correct shipping time frame’ and stated my PC was now going to ship at the end of the month or the beginning of May due to there being “a ton of orders placed at the same time I placed mine.” It has now been 31 business days and 6 weeks overall, and again the unprofessionalism from Philip and lack of transparency is insane. After years of Redux receiving reviews like this, I don’t understand how they have clearly done nothing to remedy the issue. If you don’t mind dealing with terrible customer support system and waiting 2+ months for your PC to be shipped after spending $4200 on a high end PC, be my guest; Otherwise, go with a competitor. These guys’ are not worth the hassle of the supposedly only $75 up charge.

EDIT: Still after 39 business days, and several unanswered emails to support, my PC still has not shipped. I was told that this was the last extension and my PC would be guaranteed to ship out by the end of April. Since they only work Monday-Friday, it seems this “guarantee” will not be fulfilled. Again, avoid this trashy company. Spend an extra $50-$100 and go with a competitor if you want a company to actually show they care about your money and your time.

False advertising about ship time and bad customer service

I could give negative if I could. I am pretty understanding since I have led tech teams myself. Honesty and truth is something that does not apply here.
Do not believe 7-10 days ship time. This might just be a tactic to lure people into ordering stuff from them.
0 on the customer service. This is email only and all notifications seem to have same response from a guy called philip washington. Very rude and always adds 10-15 days to ship date upon me asking about the order status. Ordered in Feb and no sign of any communication or even build initiation. Lets see what they come back with But stay away from them if you want PC under a certain time limit and good customer service.

False Advertising Regarding Build Time

Ordered my PC more than a month ago and responses from Build Redux continued to be: "shipping end of next week".

I didn't trust them after the 3rd time and cancelled. If you want to get a PC in under 3-4 weeks (like their site says), don't get it from Build Redux!

I ordered a gaming computer on the 24th of november from redux as a christmas present for my son. Build time was 10 to 15 business days and shipping another 5 after that. Would have been plenty of time to have by christmas. On the 29th of nov was notified via email computer was in production. Then on dec 9th another email was sent to me stating due to high order numbers they wouldnt be able to start building it till mid to end dec. Guess what my son didnt open christmas morning, thanks redux

Ordered a system in September

Ordered a system in September, and it arrived with a noisy power supply fan. Support helped me get an RMA sent out, but they had me front the cost of both the new part as well as shipping, which they assured me was all refundable when the old PSU was returned. While waiting for the new PSU, I also began receiving blue screen crashes with hardware errors, so I reached out to support again. After lots of diagnostics and back and forth, they insisted I replace the GPU (NVIDIA 3070), again requiring me to front the cost. After replacing both the PSU and the GPU and still having BSODs, I asked to do a full RMA of the system. 58 days after receiving the system, BuildRedux received my system and all the replaced parts from previous repairs, AND THIS IS WHERE THE REAL PROBLEM STARTS.

I inquired about when I would receive my refunds for the returned replacement parts, and was informed that I would not be refunded for the nearly $80 in shipping that I was forced to pay. One customer support rep explicitly admitted they would not honor statements about refunds made by a previous customer support rep (which were made in writing, none the less) and then proceeded to quote me their shipping refund policy. Ironically, the policy says they will refund all shipping in the first 60 days, and so clearly this rep hadn't even bothered to (A) look at my order or (B) review my previous interactions with their customer support team.

At this point, I was so fed up that I cut my losses and requested a full refund. Finally, almost 4 weeks after they received my returns, they did finally refund me for the system as well as the shipping, but nothing can return the months of time I had without a functioning system, or the many, many hours I had to spend arguing with them just to get a refund for the money I fronted in good faith.

Ordered my system in August and got it…

Ordered my system in August and got it in 5 weeks. System Booted right up and has had amazing performence. My specs are ASUS Tuf gaming plus X570 MOBO, ASUS Tuf gaming RTX 3070 TI, Ryzen 7 5800x, 32 GB of Patriot 3200 Mhz ram, 1TB Kingston M.2 Nvme, 2 TB HDD, 750 Watt PS. Playing Hunt Showdown maxed out settings and getting around 200 FPS. Love the build although I did upgrade the ram to Corsair Vengeance pro 3600 Mhz. I thought it was pretty dope they matched the MOBO and GPU.

Great deal

Ordered my build around Jan 13 and it was shipped to me 7 weeks later and boy was it worth the wait. With a 3070- GPU installed it booted up right out of the box. Only thing I found off was the bios needed updated which was no biggie. I recommend this pc to everyone.
Unlike some who had problems, customer service answered all my questions promptly .

Honest Review

Overall really impressed with the quality. It worked perfectly right out of the box, and it appears that no corners have been cut, all components are from fairly good sources, although the system would be better off with a psu with more watts, it is fine for now. Now, there are a few downsides. First, the system took more than a month to arrive, but I would say it's worth the wait. Second, some profiles were not enabled in the bios, like smart fan control and XMP, which can improve thermals and speed. Overall, it's really bang for the buck with only $75 build fee if you don't mind waiting and tweaking the bios on your own.

Seemed promising

It’s a great idea and I wish it had worked out. I ordered in January and cancelled my order March 17 2021 without it ever shipping. Currently awaiting a refund. For me customer service was prompt and responsive, and after many weeks of waiting for my pc to ship I asked for a realistic and accurate time frame for shipping. They gave me one but the latest day they listed came and went and two days later I cancelled. It had been 9 weeks. I understand they are experiencing a lot of difficulty between covid and the parts market but the simple fact is they took my money without the ability to deliver a product, and expected that I wait until the stars aligned to receive it. I needed the pc for a business and the impact of this is it makes me seem unreliable when I can’t even get my hands on the equipment I need. Unfortunately not worth the trouble.

Go with Buildredux

After a rough start Buildredux has made tremendous improvements to customer service. Some components are still scarce however I received my I7 3070 in 12 days. Extremely happy with the build quality, cable management and 0 bloatware. Thank you!

I have placed the order on Dec 17 2020 and until now, I haven't received any update regarding my order, even I have sent several emails and called Them, non response at all. I start to feel that is this a scam???

The last thing the customer service rep said was "sorry I'm the only one"

At first like many others I was sold on Redux by the idea of getting my custom PC prebuilt for only a $75 build and test fee, it was almost too good to be true... because it is. The entire company has 1 service rep that responds to all live chat messages, emails, and phone. And more than half the time he's completely unavailable . Orders are supposed to take 5-10 business days to ship as advertised by there site, after the 10 business days were up I logged into my account their site to check to see if it was shipped but instead was told the day it was supposed to ship that would be an additional 3 weeks. Thats fine, its Covid time and Christmas season, so understandable. Then a week later I log into the account again to look at my Specs to compare to my old system and my order had been refunded without myself ever having requested, after being informed that my cancellation request could not be cancelled even though no transaction had even showed up to my banking institution yet. The same customer service rep that submitted a cancelation request without my permission wanted me to resubmit the same order with the marked up prices due to inflation from supply and demand over the past month. Needless to say I'm not trusting these guys with anymore of my money. In conclusion, I've never had a more difficult time purchasing from a retailer my entire life. If you want a really nice PC and can't or don't want to pay the $300-$400 markup from more well know builders I'd say just put sometime into watching youtube tutorials on how to build your own, its the only realistic way to get the most bang for you buck when it comes to PCs. Redux is by far the sketchiest route regardless of what your favorite youtube reviewer has to say about the system they sent them specifically knowing it would be reviewed under a microscope. Beyond disappointed with how this company has handled everything from start to finish.
