As soon as you contacted us and provided details of the issue, we arranged a full refund straight away. We did not ask you to return the damaged plants or make you wait while the matter was investigated.

Sadly I can’t give half a star
I purchased 3 rubarb plants January 26
In march I said I wasn’t happy
Then told wait and see throughout the year as they can’t help atm
Now after I followed there instructions they all have died
I went back to them
Who say now I’ve waited too long and now they can’t offer me any help
Disgraceful company
Avoid at all costs
I will rewrite to b&qas they use them
If thinking of buying any plants from them
Just put your money in the drain

We’re sorry to hear how disappointed you are with your rhubarb plants.
We have reviewed the correspondence we hold for your order. Our records show that you contacted us in January, when the rhubarb was supplied during its dormant period, and advice was provided regarding allowing the plants time to establish. We cannot find any further contact from you in March, or during the spring and summer growing season. The next correspondence we received was on 4th October.
Had you contacted us during spring or early summer to let us know that the plants had failed to produce growth, we would have been able to assess the issue at that stage and, where appropriate, arrange a replacement or refund.
By October, rhubarb is naturally reaching the end of its growing season and dying back for autumn and winter. This makes it very difficult to assess from its appearance at this stage whether a plant has failed or is simply undergoing its normal seasonal dieback.
We completely understand your disappointment that the plants have not performed as you expected. However, we do feel it is important to clarify that we did not receive a report from you during the spring or summer advising us that the plants had failed to grow.

Worried
I received 12 Buddy strawberry plants and 6(only 5 included) Flamenco plants a couple of weeks ago. I potted them all in John Innes no 2 potting compost but only a few - less than half are showing new growth. None of the Flamenco plants are showing signs of life. They look like blackened stumps. Csn send a photo if wished. I’m I too impatient?

Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear you’re concerned about the progress of your strawberry plants, and also that you appear to have received only 5 Flamenco plants rather than the 6 ordered.
Bare root strawberries can take a little time to establish and will not always begin producing new growth at the same rate. However, as you’ve mentioned that some of the plants are showing no signs of growth and appear blackened, we would like to take a closer look rather than simply ask you to continue waiting.
We emailed you this morning requesting some photographs of the plants so that our team can assess their condition and advise you further. Once we receive these, we’ll be happy to look into both the condition of the plants and the missing Flamenco for you.

Postage disapointment
So simple to order with good roots on the bare root strawberries. Disappointed I did no manage to get free postage I added plant to reach the amount but did not get it free so I removed them again.,I live in Scotland so I expected it free.

When packaging was removed
When packaging was removed, it was found that a branch, holding five flowers had broken off and the remaining flowers were starting to show serious signs of neglect. The packaging itself showed signs of having been squashed and one of the stakes was protruding.
Not for me to say whether the fault was your
packaging or the handling by the delivery firm.
Will not use your firm again.

Good strong healthy Strawberry plants
Good strong healthy Strawberry plants. I ordered three each of the two varieties Cambridge Favourite and Symphony. All were very well packaged to protect the plants using plastic bags to retain the compost and keep the plant moist and sticks to keep the plants apart. They were protected in a strong cardboard box and received within 24 hours of ordering. The plants had a very well developed root structure and good leaves. Exceptional quality plants when compared to local garden centres. They were planted out in a planter, and I have every expectation that they will have a good crop of strawberries next year.

Thank you for your review. We’re sorry you were disappointed with the appearance of your Hapil strawberry bare roots on arrival.
Bare root strawberries can look quite different from actively growing plants, particularly when dormant, and little or no green top growth isn’t necessarily an indication that the plant is unhealthy. From the photographs provided, the roots appeared strong and well developed, which is the most important factor for successful establishment.
We sent you full planting and soaking instructions and advised allowing around 6 weeks for the plants to establish and show signs of new growth. If, after following this advice, they fail to establish, please do get back in touch with us as requested and we’ll be happy to review the situation and discuss a suitable solution.
