If you are reading this and are…

If you are reading this and are considering purchasing a car from CarCart, I strongly advise you DONT!! I wish I had read the reviews first, then I simply wouldn’t of purchased a car from here and I wouldn’t be typing this, as I’m not usually the sort of person to write a review, wether it be good or bad.

My story began in June 2026, 2 months after purchasing the car, I believed I had two faults that required addressing, the first one being a squeaking and sometimes a knocking noise when the vehicle was idling, the other being a judder when pulling away (auto box) I contacted CarCart after sales support, they booked me in for the very next day to have it inspected, I thought great!! How quick and simple was that, I took the vehicle to there prep centre / garage, just 2 minutes up the road from there sales patch, I was greeted by Aman (workshop manager) Aman asked what the issues were, had a little test drive, but unfortunately the clutch issue didn’t judder like it usually would (typical intermittent fault) and he recorded the other noise I mentioned, Aman advised that sometimes a software update cures the issue on these auto box’s (forgot to mention, Mercedes A class) and he would send all evidence to after sales support recommending further investigation and a software update for the auto box, however, Aman also stated they don’t have the equipment for the software update and it would have to be a specialist or main dealer that carries this out, I thought great, hopefully they’ll have this resolved in a matter of no time, how wrong was I.

The very next day I emailed after sales support (Monika) and may I add they are based in Lithuania and not the UK, straight away I could see where this was going, within a few minutes I received an email back stating there are no issues with the car and they will be doing nothing about it, a few emails went back and fourth between us, I then decided to speak to a Mercedes specialist who advised me that it may just be a simple case of an oil change, I paid around £250 for this oil change for the auto box, but it had made no difference, I attempted to call after sales support again but only to be told there is nothing wrong with it, so by this time I’m getting frustrated, knowing there is a fault with the auto box but being told there isn’t, my next step was to contact the finance company (Advantage finance) they have been nothing but brilliant, discussed the issues with them, they paid £500 to have an independent inspector to come to my property and inspect the vehicle, a few days after the inspection myself and the finance company received the inspection report, and there it was in black and white, clutch and flywheel faulty, and would of been there at the point of sale, CarCart was given 7 days to respond and sort the issue, but they never responded, the finance company then authorised me to find an independent garage to carry out the repair, £4000 later the repair was done and paid for by the finance company, and I presume they’ll claim this back from CarCart.

Now the other issue, during the time when Aman, at there garage, inspected the vehicle, he plugged it into the diagnostic and read all the fault codes listed, majority of them nothing to worry about, but there was 2 pending fault codes (fault without and engine warning light) but we was not sure how old they was, two of them was for faulty glow plugs, Aman erased all the codes and that’s how it stayed, upon taking my car nearly 100 miles away from home for a specialist to repair the auto box clutch and flywheel I had an engine management light appear, the repairer plugged it in to there diagnostic equipment and confirmed 2 glow plugs had become faulty, as the car was already at their garage I requested they change them, they recommended all 4 are done as the other 2 may become faulty not long after and it makes sense to change all 4 while everything else is apart, otherwise it’s extra labour later down the line that I’ll have to pay for, nearly £350 later they was done, on top of that the bill for the clutch and flywheel, plus the £250 for the auto transmission oil, a total of £4600 later.

I requested Carcart to reimburse me for the glow plugs as the fault was already there when Aman put it through there diagnostic tool, or offered just 50% for the 2 faulty ones, however, Carcart declined as I never took it to them, although I did weeks prior to them being replaced.

I have also since noticed that the emergency tyre sealant is over 1 year out of date, again, they won’t replace this either although it was suppose to of been checked prior to the sale of the car.

I’ve probably already mentioned, there sales team are brilliant, but there after sales are a waste of oxygen, they won’t accept any responsibility, and to them everything is wear & tear and they do t need to do anything.

See you in court Carcart

⭐ My experience with CarCart

⭐ My experience with CarCart

Unfortunately, my experience with CarCart has been very disappointing.

I purchased a 2016 Vauxhall Mokka from CarCart approximately five months ago. Since purchasing the vehicle, I've already had to pay around £1,700 for a timing-chain replacement, which is a significant expense to face after such a short period of ownership. And a timing chain is not a issue that develops overnight and should not be an issue a few months after purchase.

I also discovered that the vehicle required a service because it had not been serviced as I reasonably expected.

I've now encountered another problem. The car developed a whistle when accelerating, along with an oil/diesel smell. The garage has found a build-up of oil around the right-hand side of the intercooler, and smoke was seen coming from that area when the engine was revved. I'm now being told the intercooler/boost system may require further repair.

I was sold the vehicle without any warranty, which left me feeling that I had little option but to deal with the timing-chain repair myself at considerable cost.

I have already left a previous review about my experience on carcarrs site, but unfortunately I feel that CarCart are appearing to completely deny any responsibility for the problems I have experienced, i have also write a letter of complaint but as of yet i have had absolutely no response rather than addressing my concerns about the condition of the vehicle when it was sold to me.

I appreciate that buying a used car comes with some risk and that older vehicles can require maintenance but this car has done less than 2000 miles sincevpurchase. I don't believe it's unreasonable to be disappointed when a car develops multiple significant mechanical problems within only five months of purchase.

I have now formally raised the matter with my lender and am seeking to establish whether these problems indicate that the vehicle was not of satisfactory quality when it was supplied. And weather both the dealer or lender will accept any responsibility. If not I have no option to take the matrer further especially when the can has drove less than 2000 miles since purchase.

I'm leaving this review to share my personal experience and to encourage anyone considering purchasing a vehicle to carry out thorough checks, i would advice not to purchase any vehicle without warranty and obtain a full service history and any invoices of work they have carried out as of yet the company has not been able to provide any invoices of any work they carried out on the vehicle including the service please before any purchase understand their consumer rights before completing the purchase.

I hope CarCart will eventually engage constructively with my complaint and help resolve the situation. As the only response I have had is a stern reply to my review.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!

AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Firstly I would like to sale the sale process with Rob was 100% and could not fault it. My issues come with the aftersales and the communication that I had with the staff.

When I had my car (Citroen C5 Aircross) I noticed a noise, was emailing the email address on their website but getting no reply, only then when I went into the dealership a couple of time I was told i emailed the wrong people and the noise was just the car sitting around a while.
Ended up speaking to Monika and explaining that i have been into the dealership and i missed the change to reject my car we agreed for them to have a look at my car. Monika booked me in straight away the following day, spoke to a mechanic and explained my situation, less than 20 mins they come back and told me they couldn't hear the rattling i mentioned and my gear stick was tough and needed to be greased up. Leaving their mechanic site i heard the noise and emailed straight away and was informed to send them videos on situation. To which they replied was ' It sounds like your keys are jangling'
After some back and fourth I ended up going to the finance company.

8 weeks after, the finance company ask me to get a Dekra inspection done, and it was then addressed that these issues was there at the time of sale, and my car was not safe to drive and not to drive it) After speaking to multiple people we arranged to get my car in this week and i would get a courtesy car in the meanwhile which i was advised would be the same size for me and my family. (this would of been a Renault Scenic).
Speaking to the owner of the company, he informed me he has a lot of mechanical knowledge and not to trust all what Dekra have to say.

I was then told that there was another car i can get (Mercedes C Class) that I could of picked up last Friday, I went along with this, because needing my car fixed ASAP.
Spoke to the mechanic and was informed that my car would not be looked at till the Tuesday after Bank Holiday and should be done by Friday.

Emailed them Thursday informing that I am struggling and asked for an update to which they informed me it would not be done this week and couldnt give me a timeframe when it would be completed and I should be grateful I have a courtesy car because they took this one off sale. I argued if this was taken of sale, why couldn't and SUV shape be taken of sale, but i was grateful i received one. To which i got a response of, If you do not want the car you can just return it to us, and the Scenic i asked about was out and the customers car who had it would be completed by 15th September.

So I am out of pocket:
1. it's a 2.2l diesel, compared to my 1.2l petrol so the consumption on fuel is more
2. Diesel is a lot more expensive than petrol to buy
3. It is a Saloon compared to my SUV, on which you stated you took it off sale to which there are more suitable cars in your stock that are more the shape that I could have used
4. You mentioned that a Scenic was available this week that I agreed to waiting for, so then you called for this one, which I sent a message saying about the size and space I had concerns with.

The service that I have had from these has been nothing from appalling and upsetting, especially when I have taken family members there.

Been in touch with Motor Ombudsman about them as this has just been a joke and i wouldn't wish this on any one

I drove 4 hours to go carcart from kent.

As soon I got into the car, the tyre pressure light came on, thought nothing of it, thought the system just hadn’t been reset from previous.

Before the 4 hour drive home, I pumped the tyres, filled up on fuel.

50miles into my 175 mile journey, the tyre pressure light came again. So I pull in to pump the tyre again, I had to stop at every fuelling station on my way home to pump the tyres constantly, my 4 hour drive turned into 7 hours.

Next day I took the car to a mechanic, he said the tyre and alloy had a gap as the sealant wasn’t done properly.

Then I had a problem with the boot seat, it didn’t work, so I had to argue with the customer service support team about getting them to cover the cost of a new seat with all the bits plus labour, eventually they paid for it to be fixed.

I’ve had the car 3 months and it’s been nothing but problems. Now the suspension is knocking and needs replacing and carcart are saying the won’t contribute towards fixing it unless I drive all the way 175miles to their dealership to get it fixed.

We were told that everything was ok with the car, that’s what the documents they gave us stated.

Do not get any car from here, if you do I recommend you take a mechanic with you and give the car a full check on everything.

PLEASE READ THE REAL REVIEWS!

BEWARE, the “100 point check” is fake, they sold me a car with 1 cracked alloy and 3 tires with massive chunks missing. So dangerous.

After their attempt of pressure tactics and negligence I took it to the financial ombudsman who ruled in my favour (3 months later i got my money back plus compensation for stress).

The Audi TT is back up for sale so DO NOT BUY IT!!

If they reply I will attach photos as proof!!!!! Or feel free to drop me a message. Stay very clear of these cowboys.

Never buy from here ⸻

⸻

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel people should know about my experience.

After previously having poor experiences within the motor trade, I was already cautious about buying a used vehicle. I had also read mixed reviews about Car Cart, but we decided to proceed and purchased an Audi A6 (66 plate) from them. The car looked great and although the mileage was slightly higher than I would usually choose, Jordan in sales reassured us that the 2-year warranty included with the vehicle would cover any major issues, which gave us confidence to go ahead with the purchase.

Within days of owning the car, the tyre pressure warning repeatedly appeared on the dashboard. When I had the tyres inspected, three out of the four tyres had nails in them. As tyres are considered wear and tear items, I chose not to raise this with the dealership and dealt with it myself.

However, just two days after purchasing the vehicle a gearbox fault warning appeared on the dashboard. I contacted Jordan who referred me to their garage, also called Car Cart. I was told the warning was likely just a wheel sensor issue and nothing serious, and that if we brought the car in they would resolve it. We did exactly that and were left under the impression the issue had been fixed.

A few months later the car began struggling to come out of first gear and became very jumpy when driving. After having the vehicle properly investigated, I was informed that the problem is a fault with the mechatronic unit within the gearbox.

Despite the vehicle being sold with a warranty that supposedly covers the gearbox, I have since been told that the mechatronic unit is not included, leaving me facing a very costly repair. This is particularly frustrating given that a gearbox warning had already appeared just two days after purchasing the vehicle.

From my perspective, this raises serious questions about whether the original fault was ever properly diagnosed.

Since raising this issue, I have struggled to receive any meaningful assistance from the dealership or their garage, which has been extremely disappointing given how quickly the initial problem appeared after purchase.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this dealership.
Poor aftersales support, questionable vehicle preparation, and a warranty that has ultimately provided no real protection when it mattered.

Buyers should make sure they fully understand exactly what is and is not covered before purchasing.

Awful experience with this 'dealer'. Anyone looking to buy a car from carcart please take a professional with you to check over. The stock may look clean and up to scratch but in my case was hiding a multitude of problems and faults. Warranty and aftercare isn't worth the paper its printed on.

I would not give carcart one star. Back of the engine oil leak not fix when the they told it was. Took the ford galaxy to my local ford dealership for another health and guess what still leaking meant have been fix under warranty. Stay well clear bunch of cowboys. Was even an extra three months warranty and now refusing to do the work. This not down to wear and tear.

This company is an absolute disgrace

This company is an absolute disgrace. My family purchased a car from them in October 2024, and within two weeks it became clear the vehicle was dangerously faulty. The engine was burning through oil at an alarming rate — we were topping it up with a full bottle of oil every 10-14 days. Within 31 days of purchase, The vehicle went to an independent garage after the engine light came on, and the diagnostic report revealed multiple issues requiring urgent attention, the most serious being the excessive oil consumption.
Two weeks later, we sought a second independent opinion, and the report came back that the engine was faulty and needed replacing. We notified CarCart, who insisted we deal directly with the “warranty company” Handler Protect. We contacted the warranty provider, Handler Protect, who refused any involvement. After doing my own research, I discovered that Handler Protect is not actually an insured warranty company at all — meaning we had effectively been sold a fake warranty package.
I sought advice from Citizens Advice, who confirmed that under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, CarCart had an obligation to supply a vehicle that was fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. I also reported both CarCart and Handler Protect to Trading Standards for mis-selling an invalid warranty.
I sent a letter to Carcart detailing the events listed above who eventually agreed to take it in. It took 2-3 months before it went in. They initially refused to provide a courtesy car because they claimed they did not have one, and the car would only be with them for a short time. Their refusal created huge logistical problems for my sister who was using the car, who is recently separated and has 3 young children.
CarCart originally claimed the repair would be quick, but this was not the case. After finally accepting the car, they repeatedly provided updates confirming the same issues we had already identified independently.
Six weeks into this repair ordeal — still without a courtesy car, and with no repair progress and no real updates — we almost had to cancel our family holiday because we didn’t have the means of transport to go. At that point, we requested a full refund. At that point CarCart now offered a courtesy car after insisting for weeks that they did not have one. My sister collected it, but they did not provide any form of documentation for us to sign. No vehicle checks were made or signed for.
Finally, in November (over a year after purchase and over a year after the first issues appeared), CarCart informed us the vehicle was repaired and finally ready to collect. When my sister arrived with her three children, CarCart refused to hand over the keys unless she paid £600 for alleged damage to the courtesy car, completely baseless claims — damage they wouldn’t provide evidence for, despite our requests. My sister was stuck with her three children on their premises (and visibly upset) for over five hours while they withheld her car & demanded £600. I contacted the police and despite it being a civil case, suggested they could not without our property without providing evidence of their claimed damages. They finally released the keys at 6pm – 5 hours after my sister arrived.
Before collection, I received their report last week and the repair process was an absolute mess:
– They fitted a replacement turbocharger, which turned out to be faulty.
– They then installed another engine, which was also faulty.
– They sent the original engine to a specialist for a rebuild — it still came back defective.
– They replaced the throttle body, with no improvement.
– Eventually, another specialist found a fuel system issue, which finally resolved the fault.

CarCart are an absolute disgrace. I’ll be reporting them to trading standards for their despicable service & treatment, and again for mis-marketing and mis-selling a Warranty package that is simply not protected.

Really wish there was a 0 star review. Where do I start with this. Car was left on near enough empty so could not test drive, not to mention they left sales rep on his own to deal with car lot. Had problems 1 week after purchase, tried to sort but ordered the wrong part. Then they did not do cam belt at when manufacturer says needs to be done so I went through the finance company and independent mechanic found another several problems which includes turbo charger. Now carcart are trying to dispute it all even though the car has been deemed unfit for purpose at point of sale. So now I can't drive the car and it has been sitting on my drive. Stay clear of this company they are not worth the hassle!! Compleat jokers and my mental health is in a condition where im having to take medication so thanks for that carcart!!!
