CET Avis 

I contacted Privilege CET Home Emergency and asked for assistance as I have a home emergency policy with them.
During the time of making the claim and waiting for the engineer to arrive I sourced the leak and made the leak easily accessible

That evening an engineer arrived at my property and I showed him the source of the leak. I explained to him that I had turned off the mains water to prevent further damage to my ceiling.
Without any attempt to investigate the leak any further, for example getting down on his knees to look more closely at it, the engineer said that it was probably a hot water pipe and he wouldn’t be able to carry out any work as a Track and Trace Team would need to come out as well as a Gas Safe Registered Engineer to work on the leak.

I did explain to him that track and trace was unnecessary as I had already made the leak visible and easily accessible, also you do not need to be Gas Registered to work on a pipe leak, even if it was a hot water pipe.

He suggested that I turn the main water stopcock back on so I have water to use for washing and drinking and just turn off the water supply to the Combi Boiler. As I did not know how to turn of the water supply to the boiler, he said that he would do it, so he proceeded to attempt to look for the water supply on my boiler and he then turned of the water supply to it. As an afterthought, the engineer had already told me he could not work with the hot water system but he was quite happy to look all around my boiler for the water inlet supply valve. Whilst looking around my boiler he told me that I had a boiler leak and he will make a note of this in his report.
This engineer left me with a leaking ceiling and made no effort to repair the leak, turning of the boiler water inlet valve had no effect on the leaking pipework and telling me to turn back on the mains water resulted in further damage to my ceiling.

The engineer gave the wrong advice and potentially could have damaged my boiler by turning off the water inlet valve. He should have also turned off the filling loop linked to the cold-water inlet valve to avoid pressure leaks. Also turning of the water inlet valve to a working boiler should only be used as a short-term measure whilst carrying out repairs.

If the engineer felt he was not qualified to fix a leak, then he should definitely not be giving advice, and looking around a boiler.

Came very quickly to fix the door which we couldn’t close or lock. Absolutely A Star fantastic service from Steve. (I think name was Steve).

From the moment we rang, the operators were every friendly and efficient. The locksmith Sean was very professional and explained things so well.

The person we first spoke to was very helpful and kind. The engineer attended within 2 hours and quickly cleared the blockage.

I was in dire straights with my drains overflowing into my path, my daughters wedding the next day, I didn't know if I could have it corrected in time. I would like to thank all staff involved for sorting my drain issues out professionally, promptly and courteously thank you everyone at CET home emergency, your stars.

I would avoid this company.
I had a leak from the flush tank inlet. I managed to isolate the leak by turning the isolation valve off. They send engineer. Engineer did nothing but took pictures and said, it's not covered. I received call from CET straight after he left to inform me that they only cover isolation to prevent further damage. They won't fix it. It was just 2 mins job for any Plummer to tighten up the joints.
I also explained that it was similar situation a week ago with another toilet and engineer fixed it. They just manipulate the word by giving any crap explanation.

Fast and efficient service. I was kept informed and the engineer was able to fix the issue.

Staff are very friendly and helpful and keep you updated with progress. After the problem has been dealt with, they ring to confirm everything is satisfactory and inform you to ring them if you have any further issues. I am very happy with the way it was dealt with.

My previous experience with home emergency when CETwas not involved was that a job was completed by the first company responding. CET sent an engineer who confirmed exactly what I had reported, ie a broken, kitchen tap. Cost me £165. The engineer then left, telling me someone else would come and replace the tap which would cost me more money. Complete waste of time and money. I called my plumber who came and sorted the job costing me less money. Not a fan of CET and involvement of two companies when only one is needed. Beware.

Very quick attendance by the plumber. Detailed and thorough investigation. Very knowledgeable. Extremely pleasant and explained everything in detail. Excellent service all round by Churchill and the allocated repair person.
