First timer here!

Well, I thought hosting would be kinda scary and wasn't sure if I wanted to get my own server or not. After a week of reading stuff online I found chicagoservers who really made it easy. the control panel is easy to use and it's right there. Configure the server, stop, start, all that its right there. Can't ask for much more. I had a question real quick and mars on live chat helped me out and told me what to put in the config file. Very helpful and the live chat is why I went with these guys....

I have never ran a server before, and Chicago Servers have made it very easy. And whenever I run into any questions, no matter how stupid they may be, their support always answers back in a timely and professional manner.

3 week review synopsis: Glad I found these guys.

The server is phenomenal, quick, and reliable. Not many hosts are "problem free", but these guys are. I applaud that. Peace of mind knowing my server is online, not randomly restarting, and there when my friends want to play on it but I'm at work and unable to handle any issues that may arise, is... nice. If the server went down while I was at work with the old host my friends were screwed until I got home to restart it or whatever. I haven't had to do anything for this server with chicago servers other than configure it to my liking. Keep it up!!!

Support response time was timely however they didn't help with my issue at all (Disconnect during specific missions 100% of the time, rendering the new map useless and unplayable). Was told it was a mod issue, removed all mods and didn't help, was then told it was only an issue on my end. I wiped everything, tried with and without mods, tried other servers with similar mods (worked just fine) but at the end of the day just told it was my problem alone and ticket was closed soon after.

Update: They worked with me on the issue and while we couldn't get things working and Ark being a buggy mess we came to an agreement. As I stated before their support is timely so I don't want to hold that against them. Still don't think I can give a 5 star for the experience fully considering I still had some slight smaller issues with server lag when travelling too fast via tame or tek suit and overall clunky UI in the control panel.

Slow service, abysmal download speed. Updating my server mods can take hours, stop midway, or never download forcing me to restart the process repeatedly. This service has been a major headache and to top it off, it lags constantly. I used this as a test server just to try out mods,but even for that it wasn't worth the money.

In response to their reply: That is an absolute lie. I contacted you to cancel my last server for the same reason. Then I remade the server out of curiosity to see if, by some fluke, I had a one off issue. Low and behold, same results the second go around. Having issues is one thing, but having the same issues with two different servers?

I have a 7Days to Die server and I've tried others (Bluefang, Pingperfect, Host Havoc and LowMs to name a few) and but I moved to these to put Darkness Falls on it after seeing them recommended on an OLD OLD Reddit thread.

My gaming friend and I were nervous because I'm in the UK (on fibre) and he's in Alaska (wireless). Between the distances and the type of connection, it can be difficult to find something which works for us both.

We tried the trial (24 hours ... bit of a pain, would like 48 hrs) but the no-quibble refund policy meant that I was happy to buy a month and see what happened at the weekend when we can both get on and play; we just don't have time during the week.

We're both hovering around a 50 ping (he had 24 and I had about 80 on Bluefang). It's currently running A19.5 B60 with a Nitrogen Compopack map with zero issues.

We haven't tried DF yet but I LOVE the one click installer idea.

The other thing which makes this server stand out for me is the ability to make edits in the config files by using the inbuilt text editor. Yes you can upload files but for a quick "change zombie run speed" or something ... it's SO MUCH EASIER! (You will need to reboot the server, but that's really quick.)

(Word of warning use Filezilla or something if you're uploading a bunch of files EG the compopack prefabs) or you'll be a sad panda.

The support has been outstanding. Either immediate or within 30 minutes. And bear in mind that with my time difference I'm six hours ahead of them. Didn't notice a difference on the weekend either.

No, they don't do 900 games. But the ones they do do ... I'd absolutely have a server from them.

Don't be put off by based in Chicago. From my experience ... no factor .. the only "lag" I get isn't lag, it's 7 Days' lousy optimization when it loads in a new chunk and it isn't that noticeable. And to repeat - that is the GAME loading POI's and zombies - not the server, nor my machine.

Seriously FP ... optimize the game. It's 2021.

I recently transferred my rust server over to ChicagoServers for the performance boost. I was amazed at how easy it was for me to transfer my server all by myself. The staff was there to fix a couple of my mistakes. AMAZING customer service. I will definitely be recommending them for server hosting.

Great service, the server never went down as far as any of my players were aware. Occasional Control Panel downtime but never for more than a minute or two at a time.

An Honest to god breath of fresh air. Tried so many other providers .. and stumbled across their link in a reddit post. Chicago Servers has been top notch .. near instant support in a chat bubble.. immediate assistance, (with patience), getting the hang of the Beautiful Web interface. 10/10.. Would def. recommend

Good stuff. So far, my experience has been smooth, quick, and easy. I haven't had any issues, so I can't speak to the customer service side of things, but the performance of the server has been superb.

Jimmy was helpful, and helped me resolve my issue quickly and efficiently.

I had trouble accessing a server after my friend created a sub admin account for me. John from support helped to correct the issues with the account, allowing us to get back into Valheim quickly!

They've offered a personal contact to reach out to if I have more questions or concerns. I'll hop on and edit this review to four or five stars once I'm able to try out their services with my group I play games with again. Thank you!

From 2.6.2021 - Service has been spotty. The game manager isn't always easy to load, and the server is laggy at times. Yesterday (Saturday evening, Feb. 6) my 7 Days to Die server kept lagging, kicking us all out, and otherwise not working. As an adult with a limited amount of time to budget, I'm bummed that it'll be another couple weeks before we can try again. I may look for another server host that won't slow down on Saturday nights or that will communicate better when they're having technical issues.
