Climb credit earned this review.

I rarely write reviews, but Climb Credit earned this one.

Earlier this month, I made my July payment before my scheduled automatic payment date. Despite the fact that my July payment had already been made, Climb Credit still withdrew another $200 from my checking account through my recurring automatic payment.

I immediately called customer service and explained that July had already been paid. I simply wanted my duplicate payment returned.

The representative repeatedly told me there was nothing that could be done. After hearing the same answer over and over, I asked to speak with a manager.

The manager, Travis, came on the line and started nearly every response with, "Yeah, I understand..."

I explained that because Climb Credit had taken an extra $200 from my checking account, I could not pay my health insurance premium. I told him it was imperative that I get my money back.

His response?

"Yeah, I understand... Climb Credit does not offer refunds on active accounts."

Then...

"Yeah, I understand... there's nothing I can do."

Over and over.

If you truly understood my situation, you would understand that your company had taken money from my checking account that should never have been withdrawn in the first place.

I asked why Climb Credit's payment system could not recognize that my July payment had already been made. Every other company I make early payments to is capable of recognizing that the month's payment has already been received and does not withdraw another payment.

Only then was I told that if I make an early payment, I have to call Climb Credit so someone can manually stop the automatic payment.

I asked where customers are told that.

I had already called when I set up my recurring payments, and no one ever told me that making an early payment could result in another automatic withdrawal unless I called again.

So let me get this straight...

Your payment system can't recognize that the current month's payment has already been made.

Your solution is to expect customers to know they must call every time they make an early payment.

Then, when your system takes another $200 anyway, your manager repeatedly says, "Yeah, I understand," while explaining why Climb Credit refuses to return money it should never have taken.

That isn't customer service.

That's a company refusing to fix a problem of its own making.

I will never recommend Climb Credit to anyone.

Climb credit suddenly showed up on my credit history. They sent an email to my employers address that they were going to start taking over $200 from my account by July. Problem is, I had never even heard of climb credit and if I had taken out any loan, it would have been through my personal email and NOT my work email.

Be careful people and constantly be checking your credit score and watching for fraudulent activity.

And like so many others have stated, they are almost impossible to get in contact with.

Very janky and unprofessional company. When I accidentally submitted the wrong date for a payment. I started receiving letters about it immediately and no one would reverse the NSF FEE. But, now that I have paid the loan off no one wants to mail me a zero balance letter. Terrible and so is the corny fraudulent Great Learning school in India that I borrowed money from CLIMB for.

Climb credit union out of Colorado…

Climb credit union out of Colorado Springs Colorado has jacked my account so many times on my auto loan. They have double pulled numerous times they have pulled after doing ski pays. They are ridiculous. They don’t reply to your emails. They don’t fix anything. I’ve been asking for over two years, they have my phone number updated and they still haven’t done that this place is a friggin joke at this point. I would take Wells Fargo over Climb credit union run. Do not accept any offers from this POS establishment.

scam and deceptive behavior

I was enrolled into a loan with Climb Credit through a partnership with Achieve Test Prep, and the experience felt incredibly misleading. I was under the impression I was signing up for educational services—not a loan for over $11,000 with 23% interest.

I was rushed through the process, never saw a full contract, and was only asked to click a checkbox (or the rep may have done it for me). I was not given time to understand what I was agreeing to, and no funds were disbursed to me directly.

When I realized what happened, I immediately tried to cancel but was denied. I never received any services. I had to dispute the charge with my bank to get my money back. This whole process felt deceptive, predatory, and extremely unprofessional.

I would not recommend working with Climb Credit or Achieve Test Prep without thoroughly reviewing every detail. I’m filing complaints with the CFPB and BBB as well.

Hi Isabella,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we're truly sorry to hear that your experience has caused frustration and concern. At Climb Credit, our mission is to make education more accessible through transparent financing—and we take this responsibility seriously.

We understand your concern about the loan process, and we want to clarify a few key points. All loan terms, including the interest rate, monthly payment, and repayment timeline, are reviewed before a loan can be finalized. These are presented clearly within the Climb Credit portal, and borrowers must review and electronically sign the full Master Promissory Note before a loan is disbursed. In addition, borrowers receive emails with their terms, cancellation window, and support resources.

While we don’t show any prior direct contact with you before your Trustpilot review, our Student Success team had a call scheduled to discuss your concerns, which was unfortunately canceled from your side. Please know we're still here and available should you wish to reconnect. Also, we’ve confirmed that in good faith, the school initiated a full refund on July 16th, and that process is underway.

A quality control review of your original enrollment call indicated that the financial terms were explained clearly, and that you completed the process step-by-step, including questions and confirmations. At no time did the review find any indication of deceptive or high-pressure tactics.

We want to support you in resolving this fully and respectfully. If you have further questions or need assistance with the refund or your loan account, please reach out directly to us at hello@climbcredit.com, via live chat at climbcredit.com, or you can reschedule your originally scheduled call.

We’re committed to being a responsible partner in education financing, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

Sincerely,
The Climb Credit Team

The worst decision I have made in my life!

The worst decision I have made in my life was take a loan from climb credit. They have literally destroyed my entire life. I took a loan which the funds were never received by the school or me. I cancelled the application, they acknowledged it and yet reported me for not paying for a loan I never ever received. My credit score is down the drain, I can’t reach climb credit on phone, the email is not being replied and I am left drowning in my tears on a decision I made thinking it would make my life better. I need help! Never ever use Climb credit. Please run!

It is horrible

It is horrible! I feel they misled me, lied to me, and scammed me. They have it all on their audio recording from the phone calls. I had to fight to get even a portion of my money back! I went through several phone calls and out of fully paid tuition they wanted to give me a $695 refund. This was after I paid thousands of dollars and only got 3 classes out of the classes I was promised. I had to appeal that and finally got a little bit more of a refund, but not what it should have been! Except I haven't got the money back. I keep getting the run around from Achieve and Climb Credit,
Which is where my loan was through. Mind you, my loan is paid in full. But Achieve said they had to send my money to the loan holder, because that is the contract they have between the two institutions, and that is their process. Then the loan holder would refund my money to me. I have spoken with several people from both institutions, and no one can seem to tell me where the refund is. This is months later. Stay away from them. Don't take a loan from climb if you can avoid it. I think it's ridiculous! With the cost of college, students getting scammed is crazy! It's already expensive enough to go to school these days!

I signed up for this climb to help rebuild my credit and just like many others I was absolutely fooled. I called my credit score company and they told me they were not reporting which actually decreased my score. Whenever I phoned them, they did not take me seriously and I actually heard them chuckle in the background. Be very aware of this company. Do not use there.!!!!

Hello Terry! Our company's service is to provide payment options for residents in the US to attend education programs. We believe you may be looking for a different Climb Credit (perhaps the credit repair service based in Canada). If this is not the case, we would love to discuss this issue with you further and get to the bottom of it. You can live chat with a team member at climbcredit.com or email us at hello@climbcredit.com.

DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF USING THIS COMPANY!!!!

Since my loan was disbursed 3/2023, I have had two payments taken out of my account every month. I am unable to speak to anyone but received text messages stating they are "working" to resolve the matter. I am told that the reason for 2 payments is that 2 loans were disbursed to the school. When they receive the money back from the school, they will refund that money. However, there is only the document for the one loan being disbursed and I only receive one monthly statement with one account number. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I MADE. I have sent a secure message through their website and have not received a response. So, I have removed authorization for automatic payments to be taken out of my checking account and plan to seek legal assistance in resolving the matter.

It's a scam.

It's a scam.

This company appears to be a foreign company. Their website is terribly made. Take note of their photos and that they have NO CONTACT INFORMATION.

Careerist never graded my exams, nor even spoke to me. My account went a total of six months when finally someone reached out. By then I had been hired at another job for what career I had previously.

I attempted to contact Climb on six separate occasions to no avail.

It's a complete scam.

Do not do business with this company.

Poor Service, Even worse communication

I went through absolute nonsense to apply for the loan. Found a coborrower, signed it. Ended up dropping out of the bootcamp (twice). I have repeatedly called Climb to address the issues with the disputed loan amount. Their own systems don't even reflect the correct fund value and they are now asking for a dollar amount well in excess of what was borrowed or used. I did not complete the program. I do not owe this money as it wasn't relevant anymore. The funds were returned to them as far as I am aware. If General Assembly failed to refund them, they need to take that up with them, not me. I have no contact with the school and to get a nasty message from a third party like that a literal day after having the biggest debt in my life removed from my credit finally after over a decade of fighting is an absolute nightmare. There is a data discrepancy between their original application platform, UAS-the payment platform (for some reason) and the data the folks on the phones have. I have wasted something like an entire work week's worth of time this calendar year calling and arguing with these fools. I don't know who they paid to submit 5* reviews but take them with extreme caution, they're lying. This company is predatory, they are full of lies and they are running a scam, frankly. I'll be filing a complaint with both the State of California and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau this Monday since Climb can't get their stuff together well enough to have prevented things getting to this point. It is SHAMEFUL to be providing loans for technical education and have such weak, ridiculous data management and organization. Clearly not being run by accountants; accountants know how to process freaking software.

I am absolutely sick to my stomach at having to deal with this right before Christmas. Rude and disgusting behavior by a disreputable company that pays to manage their SEO so their negative stories don't pop up first. I checked beforehand. A LOT MORE STORIES ARE POPPING UP ABOUT THEM NOW AND NONE OF THEM ARE GOOD.

If you're considering borrowing from them for a technical education? Don't. Go online, look up "Free coding resources" and check reddit for communities. Don't put yourself in the position I'm in.

Good lord I'm furious about this...

User friendly site to apply and got pre-approved right away. The Climb team kept me up to date with the process and made sure I was able to turn in the necessary documents to expedite the approval process. Once everything was approved, Climb contacted my school and confirmed the exact cost of my classes and even updated me after everything was confirmed. Simple and quick so I can start on my education right away. I am so excited!
