I bought a pair of cool crutches at the beginning of the year. The ferrules wore out very quickly, far quicker than any ferrule I have used before - for context I have used crutches since 2013. There was also an issue with the double cuff causing pinching and a lot of bruising. I contacted them and got the same answer a lot of other people, but more expensive ferrules and covers for the cuffs. I decided to put up with it and try to get ferrules elsewhere. I had made my mind up put up with it until i could get another pair elsewhere. Then a few weeks ago one of the cuffs came off when I was out and about rendering them not safe for me to use. I emailed Cool Crutches and told them what had happened. The person that contacted me was more concerned and whether I was expecting a refund than the real issue which was why had this happened, how had this happened, what can we do to prevent it happening again. Crutches which are used to ensure safety and support walking should not come apart in less than 6 months use. It is a safety issue. This back and forth went on for several emails until another member of the team intervened. They sent a replacement crutch, which was greatly appreciated. The old one was returned when I was happy the new one was ok to use. I was going to give 1 star, but due to the other member of staff taking seriously what I was saying I upped to it to 2 stars.

Regardless of warranty period, they should not fail within the first 6 months of use. I have had other crutches that have lasted a few years before needing to be replaced. For a cuff to come away during use is not something that should happen. Cool Crutches are marketed as a premium product with a price that reflects that. The majority of low star reviews reflect the same issues regarding pinching and bruising, I noticed a another one about a cuff detaching. Rather than looking at this issue and thinking what can we do to improve this, Customers are instead advised to buy the flexifoot ferrules at a cost of approx £50, and cuffs at approx £30, an extra £80 on top of the £150 paid for the crutches. There is nothing in the technical spec to suggest that cuff covers would be needed. Ferrules should not be slipping after a few weeks . The ones that come with the crutches are not of the same quality or standard as others available on line.
I truly love the concept of cool crutches but it does fall short and the issues need to be addressed.

I purchased a crutch which arrived on 28th April. I walk about a mile a day during the week and 3 to 5 miles over the weekend, not excessive.

Less than 6 weeks later the ferrule is severely worn, discovered because I nearly slipped over several times in the rain on 6th June.

Cool Crutches consider ferrules need changing every 3-6 months. "However, in some cases they can wear more quickly, particularly where crutches are used frequently or where additional pressure is placed through the ferrule during everyday use." The distances I have done and length of time hardly constitute that level of use. The hospital crutches used for 4 months still have plenty of wear.

Their solution? Buy some of their more expensive 'more durable' ferrules. I have used walking sticks etc on and off for 15 years or more. Never have ferrules worn so quickly and I know I can buy cheaper more durable replacements elsewhere. New ferrules every 5 weeks or so isn't economically viable. I am expecting to use a crutch long term. The stick is ok so far but the ferrule is very poor quality and value. The response to my dissatisfaction doesn't encourage me to purchase again or to recommend Cool Crutches.

10/6/2026 The solution was a more expensive ferrule. It's a sales pitch, not a solution to a quite obvious quality problem with the fitted ferrule, which very nearly caused a fall. Not even a suggestion that a different ferrule might be investigated for future use so that other customers have a more durable product. I have bought replacement ferrules elsewhere at a fraction of the cost that I know to be durable from previous use with a stick.

I ordered a bespoke crutch with the comfort accessories in April. I have a chronic illness which has affected me for ages. I search so much to find a crutch which is both comfortable and easy for me to use. I should use 2 crutches but because of where my disability is I am restricted to using one. This meant my crutch needed to support me through that one hand. I came across cool crutches and immediately fell in love with the ergonomic design and how every problem was accounted for.

I love that it doesn’t look like a hospital crutch and I’m able to add my Own design to make it feel more like an accessory more than a necessity. The comfort packages allows both my arm and my hand to feel extremely supported and I experience littler to no discomfort while using it. The handle is designed so well I literally cried because I felt no pain holding onto it. The adjustments are discreet and the ways to change the ferrules and the height is very easy. The ferrule are designed so well and they have options for different weather issues.

I can’t describe how much they’ve made me feel worth more than I have felt in a long time. I would recommended them to everyone I meet. Yes they may be pricey but it’s bought the old me back and provides me with more support than anything I’ve ever used. Not to mention, IT MAKES NO NOISE!!

I had an issue where I was missing a cap in the crutch to connect the reinforced ferrules but they got back to me as soon as they opened, questioned the problem and immediately sent a cap out to me. They have been so helpful. Pay a little extra for a life time of support

Having bought my first pair of Cool crutches a few years ago, I thought it was time to buy a new pair in a different colour and design. Rushing to place the order I ordered the wrong design….not an issue! Customer service were so helpful to rectify this, some multi national companies could learn a thing or two from Cool Crutches customer service!
I also reached out as my old pair (which have done some miles around Europe and been in the sea, more times than I can count!) were starting to click….within days I received new rubber seals and they are back good as new! So now I have 2 perfectly silent pairs of Cool Crutches to use and co-ordinate with my outfits!
They are so comfortable to use, silent and come in a variety of designs and colours. I now longer feel ashamed and embarrassed to use my crutches! Thank you for making it more bare-able to be reliant on crutches!

These are by far the best crutches I have had. Fabulous company from start to finish

Very high quality sticks & accessories (I now have a soft grip for my stick-handle, a torch, a bendy hook to prevent it falling, & a super-grippy ferrule for slippery uneven terrain!). I love the fun designs on offer. The company are reliable, accessible and keep their customers well-informed. Highly recommended

Fabulous but had to ask a neighbour to pop the clip back to adjust the height. Wasn't having a good day with my back or my hands have heberdons noodles on my end digits with arthritis no grip
Very pleased sturdy and the additional stick grips amazing to stop it falling.

Delivery and packaging was fine but I was just dissapointed in the product. The sticker that has the printed pattern on is not great up close, it was also already damaged by the clips used to adjust the length of the crutches. The clips were so stiff I couldn't use them, yes I'm disabled and my hands are weak but they were extremely tight. The top adjustment was all plastic and as someone who drops my crutches all the time, it felt like that was likely to end in some horrible damage down the line. The finish on the moulding for the plastic was rough in several places with sharp little edges of plastic sticking out. The pattern doesnt continue on the extended part of the crutches, it was just plain black, this was not clear before purchase and rather dull. Overall I just did not feel like they were worth the money and I returned them.

Complete cool crutches convert . I've been using mobility aids for 19 years and these have been by far the most comfortable and also sturdy walking sticks I've ever used . The fact that you can choose from so many stunning designs just makes it aesthetically pleasing too . Only brand I will use and have also recommended to friends that need aids / accessories .

Purchased a pair of plain black crutches, they are heavier than I was expecting but chose to keep them..with summer now here and wearing short sleeves, my skin gets trapped between the two cuffs and have made bruise/pinch marks. I have skinny arms so there is no pressure on the cuffs. I contacted CC who advised that cuff covers could be the answer to the pinching but at nearly £28 (ex vat) I thought this was outrageously expensive for a bit of material and I’m not even sure if that’s for one cuff or two. So sorry CC, I’ll not be buying.

They aren’t bad crutches, i used them for 6 months+ before switching, but for the price and advertising i was expecting light and silent crutches.
the ‘silent’ design has a flight fault that the double cuff clicks constantly. my skin also regularly gets trapped between.
They’re heavier than my nhs ones and about the same as my flexi feet ones.
the ferrules are expensive and the standard ones i’d wear through in 2 weeks, the ultimate ones are just out of price range- both work out A LOT over time comparatively to any others i’ve used.
Flexifoot were more worthwhile for me and cost less than 1/2 what i paid for my cool crutches, bit dissapointed.

I’d been debating whether to look into mobility aids for a while now and eventually decided to take the plunge. It has made such a huge difference.
These crutches are so much more comfortable and quiet than standard issue hospital ones. The black just blends into the background and doesn’t draw too much attention. Even my physio commented on the fact that these were exactly what he would recommend and they’ve really given me the stability to feel more confident and stable walking for longer and reduced my overall pain (rather than just moving a bit to my hands!). Purchase and delivery has gone without a hitch.
Also would say to anyone who is perhaps buying their first mobility aid or just doesn’t have the Stick Safe holders already to BUY THEM! Such a game changer in being able to go places without feeling like you’re making a scene with crutches or sticks falling over and making a racket.

Ordered the glitter walking stick for a wedding and it arrived with the glitter wrapping already peeling off. It looks utterly shoddy. This is sad because the crutches I have from here are brilliant, but the lack of care put into this is surprising and disappointing. I will be returning it. I really thought I’d found the solution to having a fab looking walking aid. I guess the search continues. I hope to hear from their customer care soon. Kinda glad now I didn’t buy the bedazzled one!

I’m recovering from GBS and although my walking is good, I get fatigued easily and I lose quality. Had found out about Cool Crutches in hospital and kept them on my radar.

I love butterflies and quickly snapped up the design once I got medical guidance on using a walking stick. The stick is not only stylish, but comfortable, and it didn’t take me long to get the hang of using it. It feels reassuring in my hand when I get fatigued and makes me feel confident.

Based in Hampshire and with the company in Yorkshire, I expected it to take a few days for delivery but surprisingly it arrived the next day.

Such great quality sticks. I was worried about spending so much but as soon as I used it, the cost made total sense. Gorgeous pattern, easy to use and I think it’s going to last really well.

I love my Cool Crutches. I had to wait years but they are worth it. The quality is fantastic. Ability to have aids that fit your personality is fantastic.

I also have the Ultralite High Performance Reinforced Ferrules which are so much easier to navigate the crutches with and feel soft reducing the shock waves through arms. These qualities make life with poor proprioception and coordination, unstable joints and both long term and repetitive joint damage a little easier.

The delivery was incredibly quick as well. My daughter has also had a great experience with them recently.

Yes they do cost however when you take into consideration:
Aids are expensive full stop,
Each design fits a small population of an already niche market so wholesale prices are never going to match the baseline let alone what feels "reasonable",
You are supporting a small business,
You are supporting a disabled individual who has managed to create a life sustaining business not only that works around her situation but has also come directly from her disability,
Soft grip covers, ferrals etc can be set up on subscription so one less thing in the chaotic "chronic illness/disability management list" to forget and have stop you.

The excitement, the feeling of being a little more like myself dispite my restricted life and feeling like they can be truly relied on with less clunkiness and chunkiness combined with the above really takes the sting away.

I absolutely love my Magic Mushrooms crutches. I had previously purchased the Night Bloom model, and I was already impressed by their durability and the sense of stability they provide while walking. This new pair lived up to those expectations.
