Definitely legit and has helped a few times when I've been tight for cash and really needed to get some bills paid. It's easy to use for most bills but some can be a bit more challenging.

I was in a bit of a bind but deferit helped
I was in a bit of a bind with needing to urgently pay a bill and my paycheck being another week away. Thanks to deferit I was able to pay on time, and just pay back the bill over a few weeks instead. It was a quick and easy process. I just set up my account, uploaded my bill, accepted the payment schedule and deferit took care of the rest. My bill was paid within hours.

I lost my debit card and reported it … updated with company retaliation
I lost my debit card and reported it as such, before I even received the new one in the mail despite them having my checking account and a different card on file, my Deferit account was "restricted" as it was "flagged" by the "banking system" and if I am me, I should contact them "immediately." IMMEDIATELY. Except, small problem, there is not an immediately for Deferit, as they "do not offer phone support" to allow for more engaging conversations via email with their "Customer Heros" and there are "no scripts." Because obviously no one uses a template in customer service when responding to an email. After more than a week, Deferit has replied, asking for the strangest forms of verification I have ever seen--and I worked in banking for decades. Red flags everywhere. Run, don't walk. I'm not providing they're strange verification request, already canceled my account, but I can't pay for anything I owe them. I should have known better.
Edit:
Following the company's response, my account was immediately restricted again, without any indication of a reason or notification. All I want is my membership fee returned as well as the "tip" with my first bill payment. Regardless, this company will destroy, your credit, and your time, with fees and retaliation, as evident by this review.
2nd Update: Company responded with compassionate resolution based on perhaps a mutual misunderstanding, real people are answering emails.

There are many choices out there..
There are many choices out there for help with your bill. I have used several different ones. Without hesitation, I would gladly recommend Deferit to other consumers. The simplicity of the app is what is astonishing. I could not be happier with the Deferit services, and while I have not used every plan feature yet- I am excited to see what else they can assist me with. Finally, this helps build credit. Painful
SHOCKING. My card was blocked and after a month of communications and lots of patience, the Deferit employees informed me they could not provide a date on when the technical default would be resolved. A complaint to the AFCA was made and I was then threatened with legal action and account closure. Staff are inconsistent with their information, responses are delayed and the manager unprofessional.

What made my experience great is the fact that I was short on a bill and deferit came through for me and paid immediately. It’s like by now pay later. Great to use not abuse. The app even negotiates a cheaper bill on your behalf. Awesome app to have.
