Have been on two trips with Distant and enjoyed both.Tours have been well thought out and organised with excellent local Guides on both.Have just booked another for next year and always find it easy do as office staff are very good.Jack Millin was particularly helpful this time.For these type of holidays Distant Journeys is the first company I would look at

An excellent company to deal with. It was my first experience with Distant Journeys and I found it an easy and pleasant one. There is a wide range of holidays on offer and prices are very reasonable. I was also able to book a singles tour with no supplements. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful, happy to spend time to explain the details and answer any questions.

I have booked a 10 day safari with Distant Journeys for next year.
It was very easy to liaise with their customer support regarding pricing . Which was very reasonable for a solo passenger and for further information. Their responses if by email were very quick and efficient.
At this stage of my booking I would highly recommend them.

First class experience from start to finish. The itinerary (Singapore, New Zealand,Bali) was well planned and really comprehensive. Hotels were very good, small travelling group was really friendly and the Tour Director (Simon) & Coach Captain (Rene) were friendly, efficient & knowledgeable. Unfortunately our return travel via Dubai was not possible due to the gulf war but Distant Journeys did everything in their power under difficult circumstances to get everyone home, albeit some with amended itineraries and most with longer routes. Compensation was offered & paid for itinerary alterations and also additional costs where different return airports were required. The company kept us fully informed in good time on an ongoing basis.It’s situations such as this and the correct actions which differentiate the companies that care & go the extra mile vs the others. Bravo Distant Journeys, it was our first trip with you but definitely not our last.

From first requesting a brochure the Service was Excellent.
On contacting them the travel agent was so friendly and helpful that made me feel at ease as it is the first time I've booked a solo holiday..He got back to me the following day as arranged with the confirmation that was needed before going ahead and making a booking with no pressure.
Would use and recommend them again.

The trip has not yet been undertaken but the booking process was friendly, efficient, helpful and knowledgeable- great experience. Only downside is the limited choice of credit cards.

This was the first time we booked with Distant Journeys because their highlights tour of New Zealand and Australia was more comprehensive and suited us more than what other companies were offering.
Right from the start their staff were friendly, effecient and professional during the booking process and keeping us informed afterwards.
Unfortunately due to the Middle East war our tour was unable to operate in its original format and although DJ had obviously spent time and effort to find an amended tour, we decided to accept their offer of a full refund. The full amount was deposited in our bank account within the time frame advised.
Although our holiday didn’t go ahead this time we look forward to booking with Distant Journeys when the rest of the world settled down again.

Initially the brochure was so informative and beautifully illustrated.
The phone contact was well informed and friendly.
The follow up email came through very quickly and contained all the information.

The office staff are very helpful, informative, kind and understanding. Last year went on the Temples & Tigers tour - it was fabulous. Well organised, great hotels, tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the whole experience special, nothing was too much; and the coach driver and his helper were excellent too.

Having chosen Distant Journeys out of all the companies I researched for our trip to Vietnam and Cambodia I am so pleased we did. The service from the company from the very first contact was first class. Then from our arrival in Hanoi to put departure from Siem Reap every thing and I mean everything was perfect. The organisation of the tour, our tour manager, the hotels, the guides and the excursions. The plan went like clockwork. We were so impressed we have now booked our second trip with them. This time it is China. The whole company has impressed us so much our plan is after China comes India, Japan, Uzbekistan, Peru and New Zealand. If you are looking for an adventure type holiday that is well planned Distant Journeys is one to look at we can't recommend them enough.

Always wonderfully helpful staff that are extremely efficient and any extra request made are responded to and all help or changes made with no fuss.

Great Company to book with. The brochure is very informative laying out all the options available. It was easy to compare this tour with other Companies.
We booked with them as the tour had a more relaxed feel with plenty of free time and Victoria Falls extension. The Rovos Rail option was a bonus too.
All my questions were answered promptly and I was made to feel like a valued customer.
We can't wait to visit South Africa.

My husband and I have just returned from our holiday and would like to say a very big thank you all the staff at Distant Journeys for the hard work you put in to getting 430 people back to the UK from various parts of the world . The arrangements you put in place were superb even to ensuring we were able to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner before our flight from Colombo to Stanstead.

The holiday itself was a most enjoyable and informative experience thanks to two superb Tour Manager, Mahindra and Bishal , Drivers and Bus boys. The Hotels were good, although some in India were a little faded and lacked modern amenities like USB sockets.

Thank you again, we will certainly travel with Distant Journeys again and also recommend your company to our friends for excellent service.

This is the second time we have booked with Distant Journeys, the process was easy and they had lots of the information required.
Hopefully the holiday will go as well as the last one. Very informative and easy to work with.

I chose this holiday after extensive research and it represented excellent value.
The hotels were of a high standard but the group had almost 40 people in it which can feel a little impersonal.
Tours ranged from excellent to dreadful, partly because they often sourced other suppliers. The tours were expensive and there is a lot of pressure to book them in the UK but they were all bookable once in Australia. The guide who accompanied us throughout was good.
The reason for 4 stars is communication is terrible. Emails are unanswered and it fell apart completely during the Middle East conflict.n
