A disaster.

The collection was late and the driver said '2 weeks' nothing more.

I was supposedly getting my door redelivered back to me last week but they cancelled due to an accident on site. I got a generic email saying we'll get back to ypu. They never did so chased them up without reply.

Still waiting a week later and I've heard nothing.

Communication is zero. You call them and you get some woman who doesn't speak English. Emails go unanswered. Don't waste your time.

Contacted this outfit for a quote which was received fairly promptly.
Arranged collection which was on time.
Than - nothing. i have range them emailed them, left messages and have not received any reply. Every time i ring, the phone goes to answer machine.
i have tried to cancel my order, but again no reply. Have no idea when and if i will ever see my gates again.

Do not use use this company as you will have the same problems i have!

Strongly recommend against the use of this company. Engaged this company to strip the paint of a single door. Like other reviews we have found communication to be poor to non existent, unacceptable delays to the return of our door. Our door still has not been returned.
Don't want to go on too much but terrible service, don't use. Not sure how they have scored as high as 3 stars on here!

Like many reviews, they never showed up, no communication either. Worth knowing if you're taking all your doors off.

Did a great job with our 2 benches....good collection and drop off....would have preferred not to have paid 100% up front

I was very pleased with the results. the delivery was a bit delayed, but to be fair they do a lot a pick ups and deliveries, so it's difficult for them to give exact timings. A phone call update would have been good though. The delivery guy was very good once he arrived, helping me to get the heavy doors upstairs. Thanks

This is a terrible company they have ruined my unit completely, it should have been light oak and its shades of brown with no like oak to show, They broke 6 hinges which they said would be fine plus the Director who we need to speak to , to get a refund is out of the country, they are scammed and not to be trusted. How I wish I had seen these complaints before I used them. 😕 Im not sure if we will ever be refunded. We are left with a unit which is not fit for purpose

We had seven Victorian doors collected, stripped and sanded. The pick up was soon after we made the enquiry and the work was completed within 10 days including a bank holiday. The doors have been transformed, including the door with a glass panel which came back in tact. Communication with the office about the service was quick and although the collection pick up was late we were kept up to date about the drivers timing. The return of the doors was also later in the evening than expected but the driver waited for us when we had to pop out and left a note on the front door. Very happy with the work done.

From 1st enquiry to return delivery correspondence was good and friendly.very reasonable prices and although we only had the dipping/stripping service our 10 doors came back within a week and hardly need any attention before we can get sanding and oiling once they have fully dried.I think this company make it clear that wood is natural and can be affected like the glue in joints by the caustic process which we expected so no quarms there.Well done and thanks for a good job.

Avoid this company. I had a door and window pane stripped. The door was very poorly sanded (there was still white paint patches throughout) which I then had to sand myself. It was also extremely damp and dirty, like it had been left outside for days and it took a long time to dry out. I was told there would be no risk to the stained glass in my window frame during the stripping process, but when it arrived the glass was gone and I was told it fell out and they couldn't get it back. There has been consistently poor/absent communication and 2 months later I am still trying to resolve my complaint.

Absolutely excellent service picked up and returned the stripped doors when they said they would. Doors returned in fantastic condition. Highly recommend.

I strongly advise against using Capital Door Stripping Cardiff. I paid to have my desk stripped, but it was returned in a very poor condition. It came back soaking wet and, once dried, was covered in acid marks that I had to sand down myself—something I shouldn’t have had to do after paying for a professional service. I also discovered multiple gauges that weren’t there beforehand, meaning I had to buy wood filler to repair the damage. Overall, there was a clear lack of care for my property, which was extremely disappointing considering the price they charge for their service.

They collected my door promising a quick turnaround. Then told me for many weeks running to stay home for delivery but the door never came. After many months they decided they had lost the door. They have refused to compensate me for the door. They have not refunded my money for stripping either. I am £145 out of pocket and now they don’t reply to emails.

They did a professional job of stripping the doors down, and turned up on time for collection and delivery. The drivers were very helpful, having to carry the doors a fairly long way. The delivery driver carried two very heavy doors upstairs and would not accept a drink for his trouble. The only minor quibble was that the sanding was less than perfect in places, which is why I gave 4 stars and not 5.

Awfull let me down the day before door pick up and iv emailed asking why and when can they come instead and no response iv been trying to contact them as to why for over a month now, awfull!!!!!

Cardiff door stripping did a great job on our doors. Andrew was great at communicating with us and very kindly re arranged delivery of our doors. The doors look so much better, fantastic job!

The doors were collected and returned, on time, as arranged. The driver was very polite and helpful on both occasions. The quality of the work was second to none. All three doors were completely free of paint and were sanded to perfection, all ready to be oiled, without the need for any further preparation. A very happy customer from the Colchester area.
