Absolute cowboys! 10 beautiful Ercol chairs sent for stripping! All have come back completely ruined! One is broken beyond repair? The man that delivered them tried telling my husband that a screw a glue would suffice to fix it? I’m going to try and get my bank to take up a dispute with them? £380 wasted! I’m a pensioner and can ill afford to be treated like this? I’m disgusted!

l wish l read the reviews before they took my late after garden furniture it’s 3 weeks now they had my furniture and 2 now they was bring back on 31st August 2024 they didn’t so l ring on Friday morning on 6th September 2024 and they would send me a text message giving me a time slot to deliver it on 7th September 2024 so l called again this morning and the woman sent me message on WhatsApp telling me she would take a photo of it when it’s done cuz l said l didn’t want a photo l want to see it in person before l pay them cuz the driver wants the money first before he takes it out the van l told her NO NO l want to see it before paying anything so if one thinks about choosing Capital Door stripping avoid THEM ALL COST……/. The man who brought my late father’s garden furniture was very rude saying he wants the money first when l gave the money he rang boss saying he’s only Driver and l rang them myself .because he said angry mood you White English in which there was know need for that l didn’t get to check my late father’s Garden furniture until the next day oh my God it’s a chunk for his wood took out in the arm of the chair pieces splinter and varnish on there still trying to get hold of them but no prevail but I will going to standards capital Doors stripping just a rip off for what I paid for £250 for it to come back like this so anyone who reads my new update please leave a comment or where else I can go to get my money back, thank you

Same experience as the person below. Paid to have 5 doors stripped, eventually they were returned after a month. None of them were stripped properly but still had the priming layer on them, even though I asked for them to be stripped fully, by hand at an additional cost but this was ignored. Now after 2 months the doors are still wet with the acid which they were dunked in, I believe twice, and they were not properly neutralised. I’ve called every day for the last 2 weeks to be told that the manager is the only person who can deal with my complaint but he isn’t around.
Update : After weeks of trying to get a response from Door stripping services / Capital Door stripping, I took my doors to another company to try and get them to neutralise them, they hand stripped them beautifully but couldn't neutralise them. So I have 5 internal doors, still wet with acid 6 months on, and need to replace all 5 doors.

I sent 6 doors to be stripped and only 2 came back stripped, the rest still had the primer layer all over them. I still had to pay for this.

The 2 that were successfully stripped had the caustic soda still in the wood, which after researching apparently doesn’t ever come out of the wood and needs to be properly ‘neutralised’. The main issue here is you can’t paint or wax over the damp parts so the doors are pretty much useless. It shows as very dark damp areas where the soda has soaked into the wood.

I contacted them several times who asked me to email photos of the wet panels, which I did never to received a response. I called several times and once was told ‘the boss is on holiday and will be back….in a few days’. I chased again but nothing.

It’s a real shame because it’s such an easy fix for them.

6 doors paid for - 2 stripped and both unusable.

Coffee table just arrived. Viktor is very polite and smiley. He asked me to leave review so here it is. The brown lacquer is gone replaced with lime wax. I cant recognize my table in a good way changed the look of the room to modern retro. Considering sending my sideboard next after payday so they match.

Please do not use this AWFUL
company Capital Door Stripping, they are an awful company and your products are no longer useable on return. I trusted them with all my internal doors which I was told would BE one week, 2 months later after various phone calls and emails from myself my doors were returned sadly for ME my doors did no longer fit they were warped and split in a dreadful condition, I asked for compensation as I now have to purchase all new doors, again no helpful decision they try to convince you your product is fine.
This AWFUL company want your money up front before they off load to your home, for me I had a honest driver who gave me back my money when he took the doors back to the depot when I refused them as they were awful.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS AWFUL COMPANY.

Awful from start to finish. Arrived late, rude collection, took longer than quoted. Door was dumped back near the road. Awful job, parts of door not stripped and residue left all over the door. Shoddy service, demanded cash payment. Would give 0 stars if possible.

This company is the biggest scam going and I will be taking it further - 6 doors - 3 of them are back totally wrecked!!!! When they arrived and we questioned it they slammed the doors and drove off with our doors while a guy on the phone was being so rude to us on the phone - we finally managed to get them to come back with the doors and agreed to pay them a reduced price but still way more than we should have since we are going to have to replace some of them - I will be taking this further and reporting to trading standards and we will be reporting them to other authorities as well - DO NOT USE!!!! We will be making sure that we review them on all available sites, everyone else on here is saying the same I just wish I had serve her for reviews before we used them

Vile company - vile experience! These people should not be allowed to advertise as a business!

AVOID! Absolute scammers. Rude, unprofessional and no customer service.
Promise a week turnaround which if you are lucky is 4-6weeks and your doors will be ruined.
Wish we could give a minus star.
They try to advertise as local businesses in various places under different names, mainly Capital door stripping but have no local units at all.

AVOID at all costs! Absolutely disgusting service from a company that uses several names. BEWARE!
I sent a cherished oak unit to be stripped and it was returned soaking wet, stinking of chemicals and badly damaged - wood shredded in places with the doors, drawers and panels warped. The stripping was terrible quality - patchy at best and the drawers looked like they hadn’t been stripped at all!
The driver told us EVERY customer had complained that day! When you call to speak to someone you are told there is no-one available. There is no such thing as customer service. And when I complained on delivery I was told to pay or they would take the unit back and keep it. My unit is now unusable and would cost a fortune to try and repair.
Like other customers, I have also complained to Trading standards. This company should be MADE to CEASE trading.

Our experience with this company was a disaster from start to finish. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We had four internal doors stripped and sanded and they came back completely broken and unusable. The doors had been knocked out of shape so do not fit back in the frames. We have contacted the company numerous times and they will offer no refund or compensation despite the fact that we are £450 and four doors out of pocket. If this isn’t enough to put you off using them then the rest of our experience with then was also terrible. We were given contradictory information over the phone about whether the handles etc needed removing and when the delivery driver arrived to collect them he then tried to upsell to us which was confusing and stressful as it made us doubt the service we had chosen. We were told the doors would take one week but heard nothing for two weeks and couldn’t get hold of them. They then informed us the day before they were due to be returned that the paint needed to be removed by hand which would cost extra. We had no alternative but to pay it. By this time i had read the other terrible reviews and just wanted our doors back. When the doors were eventually returned we were then told we had to pay by cash which stupidly we did as we were just so desperate to get the doors back by this point. Unfortunately my partner wasnt home when they were returned and while the paint had been stripped and sanded, the doors were completely out of shape and had he been here we wouldn’t have accepted receipt of them. Unfortunately I didn’t realise this. We have had no compensation for our broken doors and they haven’t replied to my last email and refuse to discuss the issue over the phone. Please avoid at all costs.

AVOID this company at all cost. I had 3 doors needing varnish removing, I wanted to keep them natural. They were in good condition before they left my house, they came home a disaster. One door was so badly abused in their care, gouges, split panel, dents, marks from sanders so deep I couldn’t sand it out. The door is now being scrapped and replaced, costing more money. The driver was bullish and very intimidating. Honestly do NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT YOUR DOORS RETURNED IN ONE PIECE.

They really need to go to spec savers....

This company tried to get a review removed off another site, said it wasn’t genuine....haha proved I was right and they popped my review back up.... please don’t risk going to this company.
