Absolutely shocking behaviour from a law firm, I've never known a Solicitors to be so unprofessional in their conduct, if you have an urgent case do not use these people, they have no urgency and have awful communication skills, very disappointing and actually shocking.

This law firm is crap DO NOT GO WITH THEM!! Their staff are rude and unclear of their job services, they are incompetent and just say whatever to get you off the phone. They refused to acknowledge my Subject Access Request for my own data and refused to advise another legal aid law firm that can take on my case should they not have capacity. I was lied to about receiving a call from the solicitors and then was put on hold many times throughout the call and still nothing has been achieved. I pray their lawyers are competent and dont handle their legal cases like their staff handle their customers.

Navigating a Legal Aid case can often feel overwhelming, but working with a Solicitor like William Davis at Duncan Lewis made all the difference. From day one, William provided an exceptional level of care, and genuine empathy.
Despite the case being under Legal Aid, he treated it with the highest priority. Whenever I had doubts, his reassuring response was always, 'Don't worry, ask as many questions as you need.' That level of patience and responsiveness gave me complete peace of mind.
While william handled my case preparation, he introduced me to Mr. Robert Sharp for the court hearing. Mr. Sharp was outstanding in court, and thanks to their combined expertise, my case was a total success.
I am incredibly grateful to William Davis, for his dedication and leadership, and to the team at Duncan Lewis. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Thank you for everything. I wish the firm continued success, and I will definitely recommend Duncan Lewis to anyone needing legal support."

- DISGRACEFUL NEGLECT
- DISGRACEFUL NEGLECT: LEFT A DISABLED DV SURVIVOR IN A CONDEMNED GAS-LESS HOUSE FOR 3 MONTHS BEFORE DUMPING ME VIA GENERIC TEXT
"Duncan Lewis Solicitors have shown an absolute, dangerous lack of professional ethics and basic human decency. I approached this firm three months ago requesting emergency assistance as a registered disabled resident and a police-placed domestic violence survivor.
They knew from day one that I am trapped inside a structurally unsafe, condemned property. They knew I have been left with NO GAS, NO HEATING, and NO HOT WATER for over three months, which is actively threatening my life due to a severe blood clot condition. They also knew the property owner is under an active Metropolitan Police Stage 2 criminal investigation for stalking and harassment outside my home.
Instead of treating me as a vulnerable customer and acting with urgency, Duncan Lewis did absolutely nothing. They sat on my files and kept me waiting in a freezing house for three whole months with total radio silence, only to cowardly fire off a generic, automated template email claiming they 'do not have the capacity' to take my case.
To ignore a vulnerable abuse survivor in a life-threatening environment for a quarter of a year before discarding them with a cold text is a systematic failure of their duty of care. This firm does not care about justice, safety, or vulnerable people. They only care about profitable, easy files. Avoid this firm at all costs if your life or safety is on the line. Absolute disgrace

I rang this morning at 9:30 over an urgent case that needed looking into asap. After speaking to a call taker and explaining that my wife and myself had been locked out of our forever home by our son and were now rendered homeless I was assured all the information that I gave would be passed to a solicitor. I called back at 16:20 to be told that a solicitor would call me back in 24 to 48 hours. Had I been informed of that at initial call I would have looked at an alternative solicitor. Thank you for wasting my day.

I sought representation from Duncan Lewis regarding a serious, urgent housing and interlinked public law/DWP matter. I approached them with a live, unencumbered Legal Aid Certificate already in place, ready for immediate transfer via CCMS.
Despite the urgent nature of the housing and disability issues involved—and despite clear instructions provided in writing regarding accessibility requirements under Section 20 of the Equality Act 2010—the firm has provided total radio silence with zero acknowledgement or professional follow-up. Leaving vulnerable clients with active certificates hanging in complete limbo without a response is appalling client care. When legal aid providers gatekeep or ignore urgent files, it leaves individuals to face severe housing disrepair and statutory failures entirely unprotected.

Very unprofessional experience from the start.
I initially spoke to a member of staff who I found extremely difficult to understand, and the background noise was so loud that the call did not feel professional at all.
I asked to speak to a particular person and was told that they still worked at the firm. I was then transferred to another colleague, who proceeded to take all of my personal details again from the beginning, which was extremely frustrating. After going through all of this, I was then told that the person I had originally asked for no longer worked there.
This left me questioning why all of my details were taken when my original reason for calling was simply to speak to that particular person. It gave me the impression that the priority was obtaining my details and potentially gaining new business rather than answering my straightforward enquiry.
I spoke to two members of staff during the call and experienced significant communication difficulties with both of them. Combined with the conflicting information I was given, the whole experience felt disorganised and unprofessional.
Trust is extremely important when dealing with a firm of solicitors, and unfortunately this experience gave me very little confidence in the firm. Based on my experience, I would not recommend them.
Uxbridge branch - rude and unprofessional!
I called Duncan Lewis Uxbridge branch this afternoon as a potential new client. This is a complex case involving a vulnerable person so quite sensitive. The receptionist who answered the call was quite rude, I had to repeat my name a few times and she still couldn’t grasp despite me spelling it out. She then went straight into asking me about private funding, it’s cricital that I engage the right lawyer firm so wanted to ask some
questions but this woman went straight in to asking me about private funding. Absolute height of rudeness and very unprofessional!

After a long few weeks they responds to me to tell me they don’t have capacity to take my case.
This just shows they do not care told they would call back in 48 hours called them a week later to be told why are you calling us wee will call you and then a message to say they do not have the capacity shocking dismiss with go find someone else.
Just because you don't care about child contact doesn’t mean you treat people with disrespect. Not even an apology.

After 9 weeks this firm responds to me to tell me they don’t have capacity to take my case.
This just shows the rot in this system. A firm like this can sit for 9 weeks on a request involving a vulnerable child and then just dismiss with go find someone else.
Just because you are a big name doesn’t mean you treat people with contempt and disrespect. Not even an apology.
Premal Patel
Premal Patel was my solicitor, he was very professional and patient. It has been a long process of nearly 2 years, Premal has remained professional throughout. I got the outcome I wanted through family court. If I ever need further help Premal will be my first contact.

Awful experience
Awful experience — I would not recommend them.
I approached Duncan Lewis for representation My application was made on 27 July, and by 19 August — just one day before bundles needed to be exchanged — I was told by Victoria, a newly qualified solicitor, that they would not be taking my case.
What I found particularly concerning was that, despite my explicitly stating that I did not want my case or its merits discussed with the other side until I had actually been accepted as a client, Victoria contacted the other side’s solicitor, who was a partner at a large firm, and discussed my situation and the merits of my case without my consent.
At that point, I had not been formally accepted as a client and had not been sent a client care/retainer agreement to sign. I had nevertheless spent weeks providing statements documents, evidence and court paperwork and answering every question that was asked of me.
Throughout this process, I felt that my questions were not properly answered and that I was given no guidance or support. I repeatedly explained that time was running out for me to find another solicitor and asked for clarification as to whether I was actually a client and whether Duncan Lewis was taking on my case.
Despite this, I was left without clear confirmation until effectively the last minute. I was then left as a disabled litigant in person, completely unrepresented, with bundles due to be exchanged the following day.
The whole experience was extremely distressing. My main concern is not simply that the firm ultimately decided not to take my case, but the way the situation was handled, particularly the communication, the timing, and the decision to discuss my case with the other side before I understood that I had been formally accepted as a client.
In my experience, I did not receive the level of communication, guidance or support that I reasonably expected when seeking legal assistance at such a critical stage of proceedings.
I would not recommend Duncan Lewis based on my experience.
