Both presenters knew their stuff! Worked well together. In terms of their style, informative but not patronising, so no matter what the level of investment sophistication of the listener, there was poentially something of value.

Disappointed that the marketing hype is not delivered. I specifically refer to the portfolio application - mobile version provides no meaningful information, the desktop is slightly better. Been promised better systems for years. How can it be wealth management with no tools

A shout out to John Laverick who provided informed, pragmatic advice.

I have used yesterday as the date of experience as that was when the setting up of an annuity was finally completed, but in fact this review is about far more than just an annuity as John Laverick has guided us on my SIPP for many years now. When he first suggested looking at an annuity at a review meeting, I was extremely sceptical. John then described the pros and cons of the modern annuity which opened my eyes more than a little. After much thought and a number of conversations with John, my wife and I decided that the annuity options we chose suited our situation better as it removed the investment risk element of the SIPP and provided peace of mind - important at our time of life. John's advice over the years has been strongly based on common sense -hence the title of this review - which seems in short supply nowadays and we are grateful to have benefitted from his help. Our thanks go to him and his five stars have been well earned!

This company is unhelpful. I asked what I need to request from current provider if I am considering a transfer. The advisor sent a form giving them authority to ask on my behalf. So I am doubtful they are straight forward. On follow up....they are awkward and wouldn't answer so I could ask for data from current provider myself. I told them I wanted transparency - not sure why they need ask the question???????

Also attended a couple of webcasts and asked the same question..... they told me its a simple question and to ask my advisor as they would be able to give tell me..... so go figure...

They also don't supply copies of webcast slides as promised... why ask the question in a survey if you don't send them out....

And don't bother calling the Evelyn HQ about how to get slides as they know nothing about the webinars and told me to ask the presenters....

I hope this is helpful to those looking at what to do with their hard earned pension savings....

To be balanced I would like to say that the people providing the webcasts seem to be very very knowledgeable and are providing a good useful information (except them telling me to ask their advisor which didn't help at all)

Update 3rd Mar. Thank you. Webinars are still very informative and I am now receiving copies of the slides from the presentations. However, nobody from Evelyn has bothered to follow up with me about my original question that was asked in January.

I would like to know a list of questions that I should ask my current providers (in the first instance) if I was looking to consolidate my pensions. I’m sure that you would send a standardized letter to the other providers.

Perhaps you could make a webinar that covers the topic?

I had issue with the length of time it took, for my portfolio funds to be transferred from Arbdn Wrap to a new Evelyn account. I complained about this and thanks to Jessica Buckley'sassistance/input (Evelyn Client Administrator) I was successful in being financially compensated for loss of potential growth. Her perseverance in helping with my case was outstanding.

The Financial Ombudsman Service found for me in case PNX-4581811-S5N8 and gave .@evelynpartners 28 days to comply. They have not after 126 days.

I have terminal and inoperable pancreatic cancer and I'm so pleased they care so much.

John Laverick obtained a range of annuity quotations on my behalf. The best value involved a transfer of my pension funds. The quotation had a limited duration after which the annuity rate would be reduced. Having arranged for the transfer John regularly chased it up over the Christmas and New Year break.
The funds arrived at the selected annuity provider the day after the quotation expired. John challenged the annuity provider as the transfer had been delayed by their actions. As a result, they not only honoured the original quotation but also paid interest on the delayed lump sum and compensation.
John kept me well informed throughout the whole process.
A truly 5* service.

I have just had a change of Senior Associate Client Administrator where Paula Jackson in the Evelyn Partners Newcastle Office is now looking after my late mother's affairs including Trusts where I am a Trustee. Paula has been first class responding very quickly to all e-mails and queries and influencing a very satisfactory quick outcome from a bond provider. I am impressed with all she has done so far.

Until our old adviser left Evelyn (when they were called Tilney) we got great service.

Since then it has been appalling and, if we could score them on a minus scale we would.

They have given us incorrect advice based on a document that was over a year out of date. This cost us a tax charge.

When we left to go to another provider they dragged their heels for so long that the market plunged because the Ukraine was invaded.

Some considerable time later, the Financial Services Ombudsman (FSO) found in our favour in both cases.

The FSO suggested we could expect recompense within 4 weeks especially as I have been diagnosed with a terminal illness.

It's now over 12 weeks and counting and they continue to behave in the same sluggish, cavalier and inept manner and don't even tell us what they are not doing.

Avoid like the plague.
