I am deeply disappointed with how Facepunch Studios handled my Rust ban situation. My Steam account was hacked, and while the hacker had control, they used cheats in Rust. I had no involvement in this and was offline when it happened.

When I regained control of my account, I was shocked to find a permanent ban on Rust. I reached out to Facepunch, expecting them to investigate the hacking incident — checking IP history, suspicious login activity, and timestamps to see I wasn’t the one cheating.

Instead, Facepunch dismissed my case entirely and redirected me to Easy Anti-Cheat/Epic Games. They refused to acknowledge that the ban happened while my account was compromised. Their refusal to properly investigate shows a lack of accountability and player support.

I have spent money on Rust and supported the game legitimately, only to be punished for someone else’s actions. Facepunch’s stance is that it’s “not their problem,” which is unacceptable for a developer that controls the game’s ban system and player experience.

Regarding Rust; A video-game that does 'wipes' is not a good video-game. It is not balanced, & relying on wipes is not a bandage that should be used. Only infecting the wound, so to speak. That is what this review is for.

Regarding Garry's Mod; It is time to do an overhaul.
Regarding s&box, it is not good nor is it ready at all.

Don't buy their product. Bunch of thieves!

They don't care about customers, always push you to brick wall. Supports just copy paste their answers like outdated bots. Don't bother with this company games or you will regret it...

You don't want cheaters to steal your account and get it banned, keep your Steam account safe. The game is about being off-line raided, don't complain here. There are PvE servers wich are great, go there, they have great communities. One of the few devs that did not sell out hard.

The worst support I have ever had the misfortune of encountering. They may improve somewhat if they did something at all, liked their jobs even slightly (pref. both) and maybe had a slight idea of what manners are. I can save you the trouble of being vomited at by these fellows (NO NEED TO CONTACT THEM AT ALL FOLKS!) None of them can do anything for you, or even taslk to you, so just do not bother with their useless games or whatever you should call the spewdom they blow out their fannies. Kissés

i receive a ban after breach hacked me accompt with 2 factor security the last time i play is 2018 someone play on me accompt and cheat and now after i recovery me accompt i see the warning and say you baned from rust me game rust is not install to me pc i discover someone play becasue i try play americain truck simulator and is say you alleready connected at other computer and you play rust right now and i say omg after that i rechange mail and change again password i have prove please i know you have politic 0 for cheater i hate cheater and this why me stop play anygame online but right now if you search you see a lot person ban and same situation hacked we have a serious breach security on steam right now and not good for legit player

I got banned... but i didnt run game after update. I saw few accounts which didn't run game for last 2y and they got ban too for f.. what - CHEATING? XDDDDDDD Worst studio ever.

Support do not care at all just suspend me again XD

Contacted Facepunch community/player manager after receiving homophobic abuse in the game. And got this reply "Community-run servers are all privately owned/paid for by the individual administrators and are not affiliated with Facepunch. They are allowed to run their servers as they see fit, pending they are not breaking any actual laws. In the event their moderation style does not work for you, we recommend seek out a new server that better suits your experience"

I was to find a server that bests suits my experience of receiving homophobic abuse. Absolutely the worst experience in dealing with anyone from any company that states they have zero tolerance toward racism and homophobic abuse.

I reported a cheater with my account, which has thousands of hours of playtime, because in the dark, he sniped our entire clan. Three minutes later, the cheater was banned, and five minutes later, I was banned as well. I informed support that this significantly decreases the value of my account. 'Luke,' the junior support, didn’t help but instead sent me a link explaining what a ban means and kept closing my tickets. A team of kids seems to be running Facepunch. Unfortunately, all the hours I invested were for nothing.

My Steam was hacked somehow because of the Huge Data breach even me having 2way authentication on steam! Got a Message in the morning on Steam that I got VAC banned! on Rust I don't even play the crap game got it as a gift! Contacted Facepunch Studio and explained about the Data Breach and that I got Hacked! they did not give a damb ! unhelpful and RUDE! and not listening to a word i said that I was hack by saying (We do not condone ban evasion) Just told them I was hacked w.t.f Is the guy that replied Stupid!! listen TO

If a game account is used to cheat then it will be permanently banned, even if someone else used the account to cheat

Making a new Steam account after being game banned will result in that account being banned as well. We do not condone ban evasion.
While we understand this can be frustrating we must have a zero tolerance policy for cheating to foster a fair game that players will enjoy. In order for a zero tolerance policy to be effective we must hold users responsible for the security of their account.

Wurde gebannt ohne begründung vom Anticheat wobei ich nicht gecheatet habe und das aufgrund weil ich eine Musik software auf hatte usw. der support antwortet nicht mehr und kümmern sich nicht ums geringste. Ich habe mir alles angeguckt und ich habe in keinsterweise gegen die Terms vestoßen somit ist das alles rechswiedrig was die tun!

Muszę podzielić się swoim absolutnie koszmarnym doświadczeniem z obsługą klienta Facepunch po tym, jak moje konto zostało zhakowane. Jestem zbulwersowany brakiem odpowiedniej reakcji i wsparcia w tak poważnej sytuacji.

Włamanie na konto:
Kilka tygodni temu moje konto zostało zhakowane pomimo włączonej weryfikacji dwuetapowej. Włamywacz przejął kontrolę nad moimi danymi, sprzedał wszystkie moje przedmioty i całkowicie zniszczył moje konto. To był dla mnie ogromny cios, ponieważ spędziłem wiele godzin na budowaniu swojego konta i zbieraniu tych przedmiotów.

Brak rzeczywistej pomocy:
Zaraz po odkryciu włamania skontaktowałem się z obsługą klienta Facepunch, licząc na szybką i skuteczną pomoc. Niestety, zamiast rzeczywistej pomocy, otrzymywałem jedynie automatyczne odpowiedzi, które były zupełnie nieadekwatne do mojego problemu. Nikt nie zadał sobie trudu, by zrozumieć moją sytuację.

Otrzymanie bana:
Jakby tego było mało, włamywacz grał na czitach, co doprowadziło do tego, że moje konto zostało zbanowane. To jest absolutnie niesprawiedliwe, że ofiara włamania zostaje ukarana za działania hakera. Próbowałem to wyjaśnić, ale moje zgłoszenia były ignorowane lub zbywane automatycznymi odpowiedziami.

Zautomatyzowane odpowiedzi:
Cała komunikacja z obsługą klienta Facepunch polegała na otrzymywaniu zautomatyzowanych, bezosobowych odpowiedzi, które nie rozwiązywały żadnego z moich problemów. To jest po prostu żałosne, że w tak poważnych przypadkach nie można porozmawiać z prawdziwą osobą.

Brak skuteczności i opieszałość:
Pomimo wielokrotnych prób uzyskania pomocy, Facepunch nie był w stanie ani zabezpieczyć mojego konta, ani przywrócić mi dostępu do niego. Cały proces trwał zbyt długo, a ja zostałem pozostawiony sam sobie bez jakiegokolwiek rozwiązania.

Podsumowując, moje doświadczenie z obsługą klienta Facepunch było absolutnie katastrofalne. Nie tylko straciłem dostęp do mojego konta i przedmiotów z powodu włamania, ale teraz zostałem także zbanowany. Facepunch kompletnie zawiódł mnie w tej sytuacji, pomimo posiadania włączonej weryfikacji dwuetapowej. Jeśli cenicie sobie bezpieczeństwo swoich kont i oczekujecie chociażby minimalnej pomocy w przypadku problemów, stanowczo odradzam korzystanie z usług Facepunch.

Why do you let cheating go on in this game I paid good money for this game just to find cheaters in almost all server's I have spoken with other game players and have come to the conclusion that you don't care you just like to take peoples money

Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Spiel, es gibt jeden Monat ein Update, ich finde zwar das es nach einer weile langweilig wird, jedoch ist das Spielkonzept echt cool und für den Preis echt genial, habe es per Steam gekauft, wer auf OpenWorld Spiele steht und Survival, sollte sich Rust auf jeden fall anschauen!

I bought a pc online and it was hwid banned when I got it, they wouldn’t lift my vac ban as I was not aware the seller sold the pc for that reason in the aftermath. Spent almost 3 months trying to fix this and they don’t give a care in the world do not waste your time playing this game if you want a vac badge on your profile

I love your games! I wish I could faster see garry's mod 2

May 2022 after collecting skins from twitch drops for many years and having my account since Alpha. All my skins have been removed and once more I could NOT re add them and they have now all gone. Years worth. I have tried numerous time to contact Facepunch they just send egeneric responses not even by a human. I am done with there games Ignorance of the highest level.
