I have only had good experiences buying from Farmers online, and recently I shopped in person at a major branch in my wheelchair. Immediately on entering the store staff came forward to provide assistance finding the goods I wanted and holding the lift door open for me. I was so pleasantly surprised. AND THE LIFT WAS BIG ENOUGH to do a 360 turn. Absolutely unprecedented!
Beware of Farmers return processes from online purchases
Bought items. Returned them for replacement items, wrong order. Received calls x3 to say they were ready for pickup. Went to Queen Street, Auckland. No record of the return in the system. Said I should have been given a gift card? Wasn’t. Then had to prove the purchase and return of items by showing my bank account payments. Lots of conflab amongst the operators, floor manager and store manager. The replacement items were located. Taped to it was my name and phone number in my hand writing ( my name is difficult to spell). Felt like I was being accused of a theft or some ruse. Stood my ground for 35 mins. Didn’t yell or say I was a lawyer (I am). I was very upset and shaking. So unprofessional. I left with the replacement items, an apology and a refund of 25% discount. Awful treatment. Horrible. Felt humiliated. Won’t buy again from them again. Still reeling from the snide undercurrent of assumption that I was cheating Farmers. I’ve been a customer for over 30 years. Horrible culture of customer care masked with ‘we just need to know…’ questions. Stay away folks!
So called vouchers
I bought a lounge suit and had a $20 voucher. Never told about when it would run out sadly I was a couple of days over so could not use it. This has happened before when a daughter gave me a Farmers voucher for Christmas. If you are even a couple of days out you can not use it. They only last 6 months. Dreadful company will never buy from them again. Also they are one of the most expensive stores.

Brittany and Charlotte were so Helpful. I love Brittany's energy, she was so quick and super helpful. Charlotte from the Beauty department was really kind and helpful.

FARMERS IS SHIT
I wouldnt even give it a star they only sent a package because i chased up about it then when i asked for it to be cancelled after waiting nearly 2 weeks they ignore my emails and send one with a tracking link. What they need to do is learn under NZ consumer law (the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 / fair trading rules), they shouldn’t just ignore that and send it anyway. Like I said NO STAR AND A SHITTY BUSINESS WILL NEVER GO OR BUY HERE EVER AGAIN

On 24 March I was assisted by a lovely assistant at the Revlon Counter name Renuka. I was meaning to write this review sooner but had a series of urgent issues that needed attention.
Renuka was very helpful and generous with her suggestions on her products. She managed her time between me and other customers most effectively. While I was browsing through products she suggested I look at she helped other customers who also appeared very pleased with her service.
I believe it would be remiss of me not to highlight her genuine passion to make customers leave satisfied.

Has anyone else purchased a mens linen shirt from farmers nz and had what looks like bleach stains appear after 1 or 2 wears? Unfortunately we're now overseas and farmers can't help unless we return to the store which won't be possible until December 😕.
Unfortunately it wasn't worn until we traveled very disappointed with the fabric as it's not yet been worn in the hot climate we are heading to.

I did a farmers online order on Sunday afternoon it arrived today excellent communication through email and the parcel was so well wrapped I’m impressed. Also a postage return sticker. So thorough. Well done farmers.
Today i went into farmers and the lady followed me around.
Today i went into farmers in the richmond mall and i was looking for acne treatment and lipgloss with my sister and this lady was following us around the store. We toke the acne treatment and lipgloss up stairs to have a look for a barbie for out younger cousins birthday mind you i didnt end up getting the barbie because the worker followed me up stairs and toke my stuff out of my hands and assumed i was going to steal it? And told me to come get my stuff from the counter when I was going to buy it mind you I was going to buy it. I just found it very rude that the lady came up to me and my sister and took the stuff out of her hands when we were going to buy it we were just upstairs looking for a Barbie for my younger cousin‘s birthday. I don’t want this to happen again. It was very rude as we were walking out of the store. She handed us some free sample of cleanses. I think it’s so I didn’t report her.

Warm welcoming staff and there were a few who smiled and said good morning to us. Meandering through the store, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and bought three products and joined farmers club as a result. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Product sizes inconsistent
Ordered fitted bed sheet same as previous sheet, specification unchanged however there was so much excess fabric. Feel cheated out of my money with only being able to get a gift card when product wasnt as described. Sales person said i could get exchange it with anything else from the store but just breeding over consumption. When all I need is a bedsheet that fits but clearly can't trust them to do that. My time and energy is more valuable to me than repeated attempts at trying to find something suitable. I will not be shopping at farmers again.
Farmers Manukau
Farmers Manukau, have made huge changes to their store, I haven’t been for 3 months, had knee surgery. Thought I would call in for a browse, wow looks amazing. I was helped, by an older island woman who was working places clothes in new baby department, I really liked her, she left me alone, kept asking every now and again. She was putting out new baby clothes, what about these she said, there’s little pants to match, 2 for $20 just lovely, was so pleased, with product and price, also service, I told her I was proud of her. Love farmers yeah 👍
When Basic Manners Go Missing
A quick visit to Farmers Department Store in Dunedin this morning for a ‘The Ordinary’ facial product turned into an unexpected lesson in how little customer service is required to stay employed. Courtesy appears to be out of stock—perhaps it wasn’t included in the hiring criteria?
Being used to the usual Kiwi courtesy and friendliness, this salesgirl was a striking departure from the norm. Has “thank you” gone out of fashion? And when did a smile become optional too?

I had a really disappointing experience in Palmy Farmers
I had a really disappointing experience here. The customer service was poor, and I felt uncomfortable the entire after I was told off time. I was actually told off by a staff member just for putting a toy back on the shelf, which seemed completely unnecessary and rude. Instead of being helpful or understanding, the staff came across as unfriendly and unprofessional. Definitely not a place I would recommend based on how customers are treated.
Swimwear purchase
I recently purchased swimwear and was guided by Margaret at Farmers Tauranga CBD.
She was great - knowledgeable without being pushy, and friendly without being over familiar. Margaret is an asset to your sales team. Denise.
Madd Gear Scooters!
We purchased two Madd Gear Scooters from the Taupo store, and the experience in store was awesome! Staff were great and the scooters being on sale was even better!! I now have two very happy boys.
Farmers Sylvia Park
Farmers Sylvia Park. Had my makeup done by Penelope at the Lancome counter this morning. Not only did she do a fantastic job but she was lovely to talk to and taught me a few tips and tricks.
My fav place, give them a chance again
I have been shopping from Farmers for near two decades, roughly half of my lifetime and so far its been a bumpy ride we are atleast getting along.
The store's looks and ambience has gone down the hill after the pandemic, it feels more like an op-shop rather than a fancy high end store, clothes smelling bad, only one item available in stock, staff giving vibes like they are volunteering rather than getting paid for their job. I still like visiting the stores just for the lovely purple theme i grew up with.
I never had a problem with returning the items as i never did so, neither had any issues with shipping as i do click and collect from store happy to pay extra $3.
I would greatly appreciate some shoes collection like old days so that we can benefit from all shopping under one roof.
Clothing sizes are absolutely perfect, true to size and good quality. I love to buy cosmectics from there but not many options available, there used to be same variety at Myers Australia that we had at Farmers.
My absolute favourite has been the homewares department. Always lovely to visit and be inspired.
My only complaint is the poor customer service, rude staff(mainly oldish asian women, sorry no intent to speculate any racism), and not much help while shopping.
