Ordered a DazzyDuke climbing frame

Ordered a DazzyDuke climbing frame.

Communication is poor but it did arrive within 6 weeks so can't really complain about that.

However, the quality is poor in every department. Quality of materials is sub-par, screw heads snap off, wood is not well treated and some knots we're so large and rotted i had to fill them before use.

They do not pre-drill the holes. As an amateur joiner i found it a challenge to get accurate and required some experience of setting out and squaring off.

The most serous flaw is the design which I believe to be UNSAFE. I have reinforced the structure myself but the fixing of the bridge is fundamentally flawed and introduces a turning motion on the support timber which subsequently pulls directly on the coach screw. Shocking.

The final disappointment was the canvas for the roof which is supplied as a sheet with instructions to cut it oneself. Far too difficult to achieve the same finish as shown in the photo's.

All in all I would not recommend.

Poor Quality and Appalling Customer Service

Our entire experience with Fatmoose was atrocious. The climbing frame arrived several weeks late and their customer service is pretty much non existent. They take days to respond to emails and their phone lines are rarely open. The person I did eventually manage to speak was extremely unhelpful and gave me incorrect information.
Once the product arrived I booked a professional climbing frame installer, however once I sent the details of the climbing frame he declined the job as he said Fatmoose were such poor quality he wasn't happy with building them.
He was sadly correct. We had a local joiner install it and despite installing extra support he said he felt the back section was unsafe and would be better without.
The wood is awful quality, rough and warped and both of my children got splinters on their hands. We will be dismantling the frame and finding a better quality product. A complete waste of money.

Nice looking climbing frame once built

Nice looking climbing frame once built. Although did get a joiner to build as the instructions were just a minefield. Does anyone know if you have to use your imagination to cut the decoration (green material - leafs, signs etc ) is there no templates? I can’t find any forums on the website that ask this question and iv been left with 3 big sheets of green material/tarpolin

Fantastic climbing frame, exactly as it looks in the pictures

Placed order and received the frame in 5 weeks. Was initially emailed and told there would be a delay but contacted support and was delivered within a week.

The frame itself is very good quality. It was fairly difficult to build as all the wood had to be drilled, however precise measurements are given. Definitely requires 2 people to assemble.

Poor - Just go buy the materials yourself

Shocked, I appreciate these guys have made a killing selling to families climbing frames which are in my opinion over priced. I thought i was buying a climbing frame that would be pre-drilled for easy assembly or at least marked where it needs to be, I get it is a climbing frame so may be difficult but the fact that it is just timber pre cut is shocking and you have to sand and file it down yourself, Where does it say you need sand paper? And at what grade?

I have manually priced this up and for the raw materials from a timber year - £295.00+VAT - If you need to hire someone like a carpenter to build this, Get them the materials and ask them to make you one.... it will be cheaper

I am pretty handy but the fact is my children are playing on this and if i get something wrong how am i to know that. This is so unsafe for a parent to buy and have to build themselves without assistance from the manufacturer... Look at IKEA they pre drill , yes its cheap and doesn't last but at least they help the customer and understand not everyone is a DIY Guru

What's the point in spending 3 times the amount for some bloody wood, May as well send back and go start a fresh at least that way i can make it to my own liking

Good selection.
Nice website.
Customer service respond but their responses are evasive and only lead to further emails.
Original delivery 19-26 June. Guess what happened? No delivery. An email a day before to say delivery is 5-7 weeks from payment. We’re on holiday so we requested delivery before 2nd July otherwise after 13th. They said they will ‘reschedule’ delivery to after 13th July BUT no delivery was scheduled in the first place, not even an estimate delivery window. When I pressed for guarantee of delivery before end of July they responded with ‘after 13th’. Overall the one star is for the fact they respond, as useless as their response is. I requested a refund via their buyers protection before it expires. I have no hopes for this so next call is Credit Card issuer and trading standards.

Avoid! Imagine what will happen when you find a crucial piece missing or claim on warranty. I know at least two British based companies with much similar product who will be more than happy with my £1400.

I have to say this is a second European company I’ve had misfortune of dealing with one Norwegian and one German and both are shocking once you give up your money. Will never be fooled by long warranties from the continent again. Useless is an understatement.

Edit 1: Their response here is copy and paste. Shows you that personal service is alien to them.

Great selection of climbing frames and…

Great selection of climbing frames and I’m looking forward to receiving ours. However… I had read the reviews on here about extremely delayed delivery so before I ordered I emailed customer services to ask if these issues had been resolved and for an honest idea of delivery timeframe. I received an email back telling me that the maximum time for delivery was 14-21 days. I’m now being told it’s 5-7 weeks from payment. The website still gives new customers a misleading delivery date. I think they should be honest and up front about this.

This is absolutely ridiculous and the only way to contact the company is via email, you're lucky to receive a reply within a couple of days!

AVOID!!! Delays, lies and no customer service

Ongoing problems. I ordered a playframe on 2nd May with delivery for 21-29th May and handed over £1000. 2 weeks later they say it’s been delayed with no further information or idea of what that delay means. I contact them repeatedly and am told 5-7 weeks from order now, but that’s “ONLY AN ESTIMATE” which gives them free reign to delay further. They say this is because of unprecedentedly high order volumes but they are still running a sale as I type this!! So welcoming more orders into the chaos. They are also still now giving the same leadtimes to new customers as I have been given having ordered mine over 3 weeks ago. It’s absolutely nonsensical. No one responds with anything remotely helpful they just thank you for your patience. Meanwhile you’re stuck having forked out a lot of money and have no guarantees. They will no doubt reply to this with some copy and paste rubbish like they have the other complaints. Basically, if you’re thinking of buying from Wickey or FatMoose… don’t. I would cancel if I wasn’t 9 months pregnant and have already paid over £1000 to have the play surface prepared and have a company waiting to install this whenever - or if ever - it actually arrives.

Awful experience, dishonest and misleading dates

Ordered a climbing frame on the 25th April, payment was taken... Delivery was expected between 14-21st May... I received an email saying it had a slight delay, I then emailed a few days later requesting a new date as was entertainment for our child's birthday, I was told it should now arrive between the 15th - 29th May.... I emailed yesterday asking for this date to be confirmed as more time has passed and now told today it is estimated to arrive 5-7 WEEKS after payment.... Which would mean it might not come until the middle of June... So the date they first gave was never going to be achievable, completely dishonest with customers. I've spent nearly £800 with them... I don't expect to be lied to and not given a straight answer when speaking to customer service.

Shocking service ordered four weeks ago…

Shocking service ordered four weeks ago estimated delivery was between the 14th and 18th of May. My daughter’s third birthday was on the 19th and still we don’t have the play area with nothing other than we would update you when we send it out for delivery will never order from this company again and will never.

FatMoose DazzyDuke Duo XXL - Fun & Fab!

We bought the FatMoose DazzyDuke Duo XXL for our boys. We are really pleased with it. After lots of research we chose FatMoose as it seemed like the best option on the market for us. We also wanted a high platform for the slide, most other frames are 1.2 height, this frame offered 1.5m high which we wanted to future-proof the frame as our boys grew taller.

We found it really easy to order. We also purchased the ground anchors for the frame which extends your guarantee to 10 years which is a no brainer in my opinion.

We received really clear communication about shipping & delivery and it was delivered and placed in our garage by the forklift guy which was very nice of him as everything states it’s a kerb side service only.

We unpacked the wood as per instructions and left it to dry. Everything arrived in good condition no issues. The Wood is of high quality, the inventory was easy to check and understand.

We set to work to build this, definitely
don’t underestimate how hard it is to build. This is definitely NOT the equivalent of IKEA furniture in climbing frame form! You need to measure and drill most pieces which takes a long time, the instructions are good but could be clearer in a few places. You must take your time to interpret them. The end result is very good though. We are very pleased with it. It’s sturdy, especially with all the anchors in place. It feels strong and durable - we have 2 boys and lots of their friends come to play. The frame is solid and doesn’t move at all. It feels very secure with all the gang on it!

The slide is brilliant - super long! We chose dark green so it didn’t show the wear and tear marks over time. Pleased we did as it looks great in our garden.

My top suggestion to improve it would be to provide paper template to use for cutting out the taupaulin roof. The measuring of this took ages, but maybe that was just me?! I appreciate it provides flexibility so you can make your own designs but the basic template provided to scale would make it a lot easier.

Overall it’s a really great climbing frame - 2 very happy children. We are very proud that we managed to build it for them too. I’m sure this will be used for many more years to come.

Communication from order to despatch…

Communication from order to despatch was clear and we knew exactly when it was arriving.
When the frame arrived it would have helped if the pieces were coded as to the parts of the frame as that would have saved a lot of time but once I'd done that it was fairly straightforward to put together.

Starting with the negatives

Starting with the negatives, when it turned up it is literally just a pallet of cut lengths of wood, was more drilling etc required then I would have expected for the price. A few different sized screw were just thrown loose in a box instead of being bagged like the rest, but not a major issue if you take your time and check the sizes. Also, the edges are quite roughly sawn so you need to go around the entire thing rubbing the edge with sand paper if you don’t want splinters.
However, I done it on my own and only took about 7-8 hours, and now it’s up, I have 1 very happy little girl. It’s extremely solid and looks really good. I would recommend this, just don’t expect anything fancy when it first arrives.

First-class Fatmoose

Chose Fatmoose because of the quality of timber supplied and I wasn't let down. Living in Scotland outdoor structures have to withstand tough weather and the Fatmoose climbing frame does that.
Supplied with more than enough fixings, and although the instructions aren't the easiest at first, once you get going they make sense.
Fatmoose kept me updated on delivery, which was actually a few days earlier than expected.
Grandkids aged 2 and 4 love it and that tells you everything.

Great value!

The play equipment is straight forward to build with two people, and the kids love it! Not quite as sturdy as I'd like, but is still safe for the kids (I'm no DIY expert so it's probably my construction rather than the design).
A great value piece of equipment. Highly recommended!

Item never delivered

Ordered a swing seat over three weeks ago (UKF2000051366 if their customer services see this). Having received an email confirming despatch but no tracking details I chased them after a week only to be told the item had been returned to them by the carrier due to failed delivery. I suggested they check with the carrier as this was incorrect (no missed delivery note, was working from home all week & Ring doorbell showed no missed deliveries). They asked if I wanted to arrange a new delivery & I said yes. I got no confirmation of despatch over the next 2 weeks so chased them on 3 occasions & was told the first 2 times that a new delivery had been arranged. On the 3rd occasion though I was told it hadn’t been despatched, nor would it be as it was now out of stock (so they obviously sold my returned item to someone else!). Never got any apology or acceptance of fault in any of their emails. I asked if they could instead send me the next most expensive equivalent as a goodwill gesture - they refused to do this! Will get a refund but what a waste of time! Overall really poor!
