Nothing went wrong with the work.

But a 3 hour job to unblock a drain, left us with a bill of £1000.

Do NOT use this company, absolutely day light robbery!!!

Excellent service Larry was friendly knowledgeable and did a great job clearing our blocked drain. Everything was explained clearly and work carried out efficiently

Larry was superb. Not the easiest job but he took his time to find the answer.

They quoted me two rates on the booking call: £69/hour for manual work, or £79/hour for machinery. On the day, they charged me both.

When I challenged it, I was told I was mistaken and that they "always clearly explain" their fees — though other reviews here suggest otherwise. The office manager then said she'd resolved it by listening back to the recording of my booking call. I was never told that call was being recorded, and they were now citing it as evidence against me.

So I asked for a copy. They ignored the request. I then made a formal Subject Access Request, which the law requires them to answer within one month. They ignored that too. When they later phoned to arrange a return visit — to finish the job that hadn't been done properly the first time — I asked again. "I'll send that by email soon," the office manager said. It never arrived.

I've now reported them to the Information Commissioner's Office. The recording they used to tell me I was wrong is the one thing they won't hand over, and it took a regulator's involvement before they'd even acknowledge the request. Draw your own conclusion about why.

Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

Being in need of a drainage expert i "hopefully" turned to first local services who after a telephone call arranged for an engineer to call next morning between 10.00-12.00am, next morning came and upon returning from my regular dog walk at 08.55am the engineers van was sat waiting outside my property, upon speaking to the engineer he was told no time was decided or arranged upon by his office, he even said that he was given the wrong postal code of my property, so massive lack of communication at head office, but I found the engineer friendly and knowledgeable for the work that needed to be carried out on my stinky drain. I need to now recontact the engineers office to arrange for the work to be completed.

£1250 to unblock a toilet, less then 3 hours work. Utterly insane. Never using again

Mick T was allocated my job of unblocking the kitchen sink. He phoned to let me know when he was about an hour away. Once here he very quickly diagnosed the problem, got to work with his “snake” and the kitchen was fully operational again within 15min! The fees are explained in advance so you know how much the wallet is getting squeezed. Which is quite a lot for short jobs like mine was. But happy to have it all done expertly and quickly. Glen arrived promptly at the agreed time. He identified the problems. It was a difficult blockage which was not easy to resolve. He was extremely thorough ensuring that the toilet and drain was clear before leaving. He was very respectful of our property and explained the problems clearly and what he had to do to resolve them.
Although it was expensive he did the job thoroughly and professionally.

I recently booked a drains survey after experiencing issues during recent downpours. Glen, the surveyor arrived on time, was friendly and professional and took time to understand the issue I was experiencing. He explained the work he was going to do, updating me as he progressed with the survey. He took me through the findings of the survey, his recommendations for the remedial work and provided me with quotes, and the detailed explanations of the process. Overall a good, honest service that felt professional and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Company was very professional.
Harry who was the guy that attended to clear our drain was absolutely amazing. Couldn’t fault him. Very helpful very polite very professional knew his stuff & nothing was too much trouble & he did a great job & resolved the problem. I felt fortunate that it was him that attended as he was so good.

Also received a phone call from first local services to do follow up courtesy call which I felt was great service & nice thing to receive.
All in all couldn’t fault anything.

£150 + VAT per hour for labour

£79.00 + VAT per HALF HOUR for use of equipment - high pressure jetter /cable machine.
So expect £308 per hour + VAT
Also extra (£150) if they use CCTV camera

Workman arrived 1 hour after his scheduled time. Charged labour @ £150 + VAT per hour. Use of equipment charged extra. Total bill was rip off! Definitely won't use Bournemouth Drains/First Local Services again.

Mick was so friendly and efficient. Arrived early, explained everything he was doing and left the property tidy. Such a lovely guy. Highly recommend him. Thank you Mick.

Came for 2 hours as part of Stevenage drains ? Charged £505 and didn’t fix the problem. Back to square one. Nice guy but feel absolutely robbed still with a blocked kitchen sink. Would never use these people again.
