Garbage company

Garbage company. Months of waiting and half of my order still hasn’t shipped (it’s nearly May and the order was placed in February). I’ve inquired numerous times with the company and no help. Also, I was charged a “heavy box fee” which is ridiculous when some items that did ship were shipped one at a time. Customer service is a joke.

Ordered music as it said ships from NZ. Then after paying I find out it's going to take 2 months and it's coming from overseas. I found it way cheaper else where and in the country so I canceled my order with fishpond and was charged $14 restocking fee. They didn't even have it to begin with!

Wrong order received

I ordered a CD from Fishpond on 3/01/26 estimated delivery was 30/01/26 to 06/02/26.
On 4/02/26 I had a delivery from Aramex couriers from Fishpond.
Inside was a book, it had nothing to do with the CD I had ordered and paid for.
There was no order form and no information on where I could return the book.
I tried contacting Fishpond which turned out to be a total waste of time. Their email came back with this is an unmonitored email address.
They have no contact phone number.
I would not ever use this company again. Thankfully the CD I am never likely to receive was inexpensive. It could have been worse.
Anyway whoever receives my CD I hope you enjoy it.
I did what I should have done in the beginning ordered it from Amazon.
I hope this review stops someone else from being messed around

Took my money

Took my money. They emailed within days there may be a delay in shipping. Waited over a month. Can't submit inquiry on their website since October 2025. They have all of my billing & contact info. They are designed to defraud.

Beware when buying

Bought a book on ebay full price listed as new took weeks to be delivered. Finally received it, it was a second. Not impressed with this seller.

Upgrade to Premium without ever requesting....SCAM!

I used Fishpond in 2020 when I was based in the UK. I am based in Sydney, Australia. I haven't used it since. Out of the blue, I received an email saying I have successfully upgraded to a Premium Account, which, I understand, carries a fee of $49.95. The only way to cancel is to submit an online request to cancel my account, which I have done.

You might get your books, eventually

Ordered 5 books on 11/8, all with an estimated delivery date the first week of December. As of 12/29 I have only received 2 of the books. None of them arrived of time for Christmas. When I tried to cancel the order they wanted the charge me huge fees because they are unable to get the book they promised. I would never, ever shop here again.

I would have rated zero stars

I would have rated zero stars, but you HAVE to put at least one. This place does not even deserve that. For the SECOND time in 2 years, I tried to buy a few titles that were either not pressed in the 90's or are otherwise 'hard to find'. Both times I waited MONTHS only to find that they'd deleted items from my order, because they can't actually get them from somewhere else, to pushing the order back week after week after week, month after month, because they took your order, and THEN attempted to order it themselves, only to find it's 'unobtainium'. (means can't be found, bought or sold). Horrible customer service, canned replies or curt, indifferent ones... DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SITE. SCAMMERS, LIARS, and false advertisers.

Oh, yeah, Edit here, To even post this negative review, I was required to provide an email address, or login with my social media accounts (which required me giving them access to all my future meta information, likely to be sold ILLEGALLY to advertisers to fill up my inbox with spam.) Just totally inappropriate, scammy, lying scumbags.

1 star isn't low enough.

Item advertised as In Stock so I placed an order ($100+) Over a month goes by and nothing.
Reach out to enquire about order and am told that they "are having difficulty sourcing the item and cannot guarantee ability to fulfill order."
Advertised as IN STOCK. Such as scam. Now...Time to sit back and see if I ever get a FULL REFUND. Total scam. Avoid this company! Spread the word. Internet, do your thing.

Drop shipping, sells items that they don’t even have, and might never have!

Fishpond is a drop-shipper.
I ordered 3 items on September 29.
It supposedly takes 2 weeks to even ship because they don’t actually have the products, although they never tell
you that they’re drop shipping.
None if the items actually shipped.
The order history just says “delayed” and promises an update in 24–48 hours, but there’s been no update, and they never bothered to e-mail that it was delayed at all.

When I reached out, they said :
“We do apologise for the delay… We appear to be having problems sourcing this item due to supplier stock information being incorrect. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to get this item, but we will continue trying to source from other suppliers.”

Do NOT order from a company that sells items they don’t even have, and admits that they might never have them!

I ordered a comic from Fishpond

I ordered a comic from Fishpond, and they chose to ship with CouriersPlease, notoriously the worst courier company nationally. I waited all morning for my parcel, and the courier arrived five minutes after I left. They folded the comic in half, and shoved it in my mailbox. When I got it out, every page and both covers were completely warped. After I contacted customer service they said they could refund $6.50 for shipping if I wanted to keep the ruined book, or return it for a full refund. It took weeks for the refund to be processed. I won't be buying from them again. Booktopia is much better.

I'd give no stars

I'd give no stars. Buyer beware. I bought 1 book in Aug 2024- it was more expensive than other sites and ended up slow to arrive. I then forgot about them until last week when Fishpond deducted $49.99 from my account, and I then discovered they'd taken the same in Sept 2024. I had ticked yes to a 1-month free trial to receive a very slight reduction on postage. There was no mention of an eternal annual subscription. I have tried to unsubscribe so it doesn't happen again, but it seems impossible. I have read many similar complants online, so it seems this is their ploy. The company (owned by John Wiley) is Shameless. I have complained to various consumer groups and asked my bank to investigate.

If I could give it a zero I would

If I could give it a zero I would. SO far I placed my order for a cd on August 18th. Said they would ship it by September 4th. My birthday was the 5th so the arrival date was around the 17th to the 24th. I was ok with that. Seeing the order still ON ORDER status after the 4th I left a mail. Said they had to check with their distributer . I asked them to ship it a bit faster for the inconvenience , but they didnt respond to that. Now I will be honest they offered my money back, but this cd at this price is so hard to find its obscure. So I said I will wait since this cd is so hard to get. Now its on reorder status and arrival time October 27thish...OVER 2 MONTHS since order date. If it is something you want and do not mind waiting what I am assuming now is going to be a long time buy it here. If you want your order in a respectable amount of time get it somewhere else if you can. I am stuck because no one sells this cd new anymore.

Update: After seeing the same complaints here of it being reordered and delayed a second time for another reviewer I canceled my order. I'm not going to get stuck on a mouse wheel running in circles of reorder and repeat. I found the same cd for 5 dollars more on Ebay brand new and it's already being prepared for shipment and will be here Wednesday.

Last update : I will at least give them credit. They did refund my money. Took a few days like 3, but no worries. I just want to report it so people who wonder if they actually refund the money...In my case they have.

New large wheeled duffle

New large wheeled duffle. Love everything except the reason I bought it: the strap/buckle mechanism holding the rod tubes is poorly designed. The buckle system is new, no instructions provided. Straps do not move and buckles are in a position making them difficult to operate. Quite frustrating.

Order places 19th July never shipped

I placed my order on July 19, and it was supposed to be shipped by August 7. When I checked the tracking page on that date, it only said “delayed” and promised an update within 48 hours. No update ever came, and now the shipping date has simply been pushed to August 23. On top of that, when I contacted customer support, I received no clear explanation—just the same vague “delayed” message.

This is extremely unprofessional and frustrating. If you cannot fulfill an order, at least be honest with your customers instead of constantly pushing back the date with no accountability. I will definitely not be ordering from Fishpond again and cannot recommend this service to anyone.

Update:
After August 23, my order was again delayed. I am changing my rating from 2 stars (which I originally gave only because of the affordable prices) to 1 star. This really makes no sense and is completely unprofessional.

Delivery Failure

I was promised my vinyl record would arrive in Ireland on 7th Aug. allowing 24 days to deliver. Although it only one day late, tracking shows in all that time they only manged to get my item to London from their base in Gloucester. No information on when it will arrive. Google tells me I could walk from Gloucester to London in 37 hours. 25 days and counting. First and last order with this company.
