So appalled I am with my experience buying from this company, I felt compelled to finally join TrustPilot and leave my own review.

If only I’d read what other reviewers had written beforehand – it would have saved me from a very frustrating and long protracted process in dealing with this company. A painful lesson learned.

As so many others have already said and I cannot echo enough, do not buy from this company. Despite them stating they have a UK address in Dunstable, when attempting to return an item within 14 days of receiving it, they then state they do not adhere to or comply with UK’s Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Their “General Return, Cancel & Exchange Policy”, “General Return, Cancel & Exchange Policy”, “Within 14 days of receiving your goods” are misleading and in my view, have been deliberately written/worded to lull potential customers into a false sense of security/consumer protection on their purchase.

In my case, I raised a disputed transaction with PayPal, I did get a full refund.

Terrible company selling rubbish gear. I bought a 4TB external SSD drive which stopped working a few weeks after receiving it. When I asked for a replacement I was told that it was out of their 30 day warranty and they wouldn't replace or refund (which seems to be against UK government trading policy, although because I formatted the drive for Mac, I can't be bothered to follow it up as it was advertised as a Windows 10 drive). After a string of emails back and forth, they still wouldn't replace it (£40!), so I'm left with a useless drive which is going to have to go to the tip. Would have given it no stars if I could.

Minus stars! Scam. Not a UK company as advertised, Ships from China. Ordered heated seat, tracking said it was delivered but I did not receive item. Company finds this acceptable, shocking attitude. Wish I'd read reviews before ordering. Paid for item I have not received, no recourse:( Merry Christmas.

Bought rc helicopter for £50 in sale received something completely different selling for around £9 on amazon absolutely disgusting

I ordered a magnetic keyboard case for my iPad Pro 2024, advertised at a heavy discount (£74.99 down from £124.99). The website (gear-tech) looks professional, with UK branding, a uk domain, and a listed address in Dunstable – everything suggested it was a legitimate UK retailer.
What arrived weeks later was a cheap, low-quality case shipped directly from China. It completely lacked the advertised magnetic flap/lift mechanism for the rubber separator/protection, and the build quality was poor – nothing like the product images.
I immediately requested a return and full refund, citing my 14-day cooling-off rights under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations (change of mind is perfectly valid). Their response? Endless template emails refusing a proper refund, claiming “discounted items are non-refundable” (which is illegal in the UK), insisting the product “matches the description”, and saying I must return it at my own expense – which they warned would cost €40+ to their overseas warehouse, with high risks of loss/damage invalidating everything.
They repeatedly offered insulting partial refunds (20% cash or 50% store credit) to make the issue go away, while ignoring UK law entirely. This is a classic dropshipping tactic to deter legitimate returns and keep your money.
Gear Tech has over 1,000 reviews on Trustpilot averaging around 1.3 stars – the vast majority describe the exact same experience: misleading UK appearance, cheap Chinese dropshipped junk, misrepresented products, and systematic refusal of statutory refunds.
Do NOT buy from them. Save yourself the hassle and order from a genuine retailer. I’m now escalating via my payment provider for a chargeback – wish I’d checked independent reviews first.

Brought Christmas lights, didn't receive what I ordered and even those didn't work. Customer service started off ok then stopped. I'm guessing this is one guy sat in his bedroom importing cr@p from China rather than an actual company. Wish I'd checked the reviews first.

Handwarmers were a gift for my daughter, at least one of them had a poor battery life (approx 1 hour). We contacted GearTech to request a replacement

Contacted tech support to request an exchange/ replacement. The email response was quick (great). I explained the situation and sent a photo of the product as requested along with the order info verifying our purchase. They then went on to request a video of the product and it’s problem. I asked- how do you send a video of a handwarmer with a poor battery life? The emails felt automated and farcical, with not actual desire to help to customer or support the products they sell.
I was then informed that they would exchange the product, but this required a minimum of £30 for shipment and 30 days - more than the value of the handwarmer! Alternatively they would offer us a partial refund of 15%- I am digusted.
Unhelpful tech support team who actively do not want to engage with the customer or help.

Since they do not support their product or give “two figs about fixing their product or helping a customer; I wish their team a constipated Christmas, and hope your cat / child / drunk uncle are sick under the Christmas tree.

Very poor quality, cheap plastic components ,not worth the money. "Ships in 4-5 days" !!! Rubbish, make it weeks.

AVOID, I paid over £50 for a rc helicopter and received a battered parcel worth about £10, avoid like plague they will not help refund or respond either

Dreadful company.. Wish I'd read these reviews before ordering. If I could give a 0 for them I would... the quality is awful, did not match image. When tried to return despite saying easy hassle free returns and stating customer satisfaction guaranteed it was nothing of the sort. They refused to refund. Absolutely appalling company. Stay well clear

Absolute nightmare of a company. Apparently they don't accept any returns even if something doesn't fit.
Heated gilet sent out with no battery.

I posted on hear earlier this month about the absolute rubbish robotic vacuum which I bought at 59.99£ (reduced price) and received a 6.99 vacuum which I found priced on internet for same make and model… I am so happy to say I took the scammers on via PayPal and won my case getting notification this morning that I was receiving a refund!!!! Iam so happy … so if you are able … fight them through your payment process honestly the feeling is euphoric!

Wish I had checked here before ordering! I ordered a GPS Cat Tracker - what arrived is a Bluetooth anti-lost device (basically an air tag). Customer service have said GPS and Bluetooth are the same thing and it states it is Bluetooth on their website, which it 100% does not. AVOID

If I could give them below zero, I would. I ordered an 8 TB SSD hard drive, waited 2 weeks for it to be delivered, and when it arrived, I thought what a well-made unit in black aluminium, until I tested it with ValiDrive, it's a free storage tester; the declared drive size was 8.39TB, the actual size was 43.8 GB. Buyers beware, I did get my money back via PayPal. It amounts to being fraudulent. This company need to be closed down

Selling crap. Do not order or fall for any reviews on their site as I did. Order was awful and not as described.

gear tech are a scam company ,what ever you do dont pay any thing from them . i purchase ear aids and they sent me some ear pads
asked for my money back but was told that they where a new type of earing aids
10 weeks i have waited for my money back and they have offerd me 30% discount they are not base in uk

Came here to write a lengthy negative review but after reading others I won't waste my time, as my complaint is all covered in the existing reviews! Avoid Gear Tech like the plague. All the info you need has already been posted here.

Item arrived after a few weeks, but didn’t work. I contacted them straight away and got a quick reply. They asked for proof it didn’t work, so I sent photos and videos. Did not get a reply, have been trying to get a refund for weeks now. I wonder if the products come directly from China because it took a while to arrive, and the instructions were all in Chinese. If I wanted to buy junk I would have ordered direct from a Chinese app.
