On the positive side the engineer arrived on time and was polite. Unfortunately he was unable to find the part required and passed the problem to their tech department. After not hearing back from them I chased it the following day and was told that the part had been traced and would cost £409 which included the labour for an extra engineer as it was a '2 man job' on top of the £95 call out fee already paid, this for a 3 year old appliance which only cost £300 to begin with. This was to replace part of my drum. Alarm bells rang when the original engineer told me he had a friend who sells discount appliances if I chose to replace rather than repair. Very disappointed and suspicious about the whole encounter.

We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience, and we understand why the cost of the proposed repair would have been frustrating, particularly given the original purchase price of the appliance.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to locate your repair on our system from the information provided in your review. If you could contact our office directly with your booking or reference details, we’d be more than happy to review the records in full and look into the concerns you’ve raised, including the comments made by the engineer.
In terms of the repair cost, some faults can unfortunately involve significantly more expensive components than others. Larger, more integral parts such as motors, compressors and drum assemblies naturally carry a higher cost, and replacing a drum can also require additional engineering time or two engineers due to the size and weight of the component. This can understandably make this type of repair uneconomical, particularly on a relatively inexpensive appliance.
We always try to keep our repair and parts pricing as competitive as possible, but we do have to work with the costs of the genuine parts and engineering work required. Where a repair is no longer considered economical, we can also look at offering a discount towards a replacement appliance through our sales team, where appropriate.
We’re sorry that the outcome left you feeling disappointed and concerned, and we’d welcome the opportunity to review your particular case properly so we can address any concerns you may have.

Fast and friendly fix, highly recommend!
I’ve just received fast and professional service from William, a very knowledgeable, professional and polite engineer who has fixed my leaking dishwasher. I live in Farnham. He first visited me a few days ago and diagnosed a faulty inlet valve and today returned to fit it. Job done very quickly. Dishwasher back up and running and no leaks.
