Under the ECO4 scheme it would appear that the Solar Panels can be fitted without the heating being fitted, so I am asking you why this was withdrawn. I have sent the details of this to my local MSP, and ask for clarification as to how I stand now, and to find out if you have been paid for the equipment. I have done this to see whether my house is recorded as having anything fitted, and to make sure that I will not be precluded from future schemes
The whole experience has been shambolic from the start. There has been very little meaningful communication from yourselves, and the man hours your company has wasted through lack of communication is abysmal, (I hope you are not charging the Scottish Government).
What I want from you now is a simple answer, do I get Solar Panels, yes or no
One more thing I must point out is that an extractor fan was fitted in our bathroom, which vents into a crawl space, a roofer was supposed to come and fit a vent, that never happened. As a result any steam is now vented into that space and not to the outside, i have not had any damp in this house in the 30 odd years I have lived here lets hope this is not a cause of it, or we will be discussing that next.
My advice to you is that in future when assessing a property, you take into consideration the end users and what they want.
To re-iterate my question do you intend to fulfill the contract and fit Solar Panels YES or No.
I will wait a day or two before I forward this to David Mundel MSP.
My trust in your company though is minimal and I will most likely have to speak to him.

Andy was clear and explained all the questions I had surrounding the install. When fitting the engineers Jakub and I can’t remember the other engineers name, were very respectful and made the install nice and clean not leaving wires and conduit all over my house. They also knew the system inside out and were able to explain it all in an understandable way.

I got underfloor insulation put in and the job got done without any hassle

Bought a PV and battery system from Green Home Systems privately funded at considerable expense. Bird guards blew off roof in first gale and have failed again on further 2 occasions.

Battery case is also corroding severely after less than six months in service.

After care response is amateur at best and all their manager does is try to fob you off.

I’d highly recommend going to other companies for your PV or other environmental systems

A positive update to report although the battery is yet to be replaced and I have yet to see if the design has been improved ie by the use of stainless steel or other robust non-corroding material that is fit for purpose in outside locations.

I’ll update my review further once the battery has been replaced. In the meantime I’m happy that GH have taken action although it took a trust pilot review to get things moving.

Now several weeks since Greenhomes inspected the battery but no action or updates. Buyers beware!

After escalating my issues to Director level, I’m pleased to report that Gordon McDill was able to arrange supply and installation of a brand new battery to a modified design. The installation had a few hitches all down to the manufacturer GivEnergy but these got resolved with Gordon’s input. Time will tell if the new battery is more corrosion resistant.

From start to finish this company have Been amazing. Graeme Logan was my first point of contact and he was polite and friendly throughout. The works were completed within 6 weeks of the initial contact. While I never spoke much to the men the put the panels on, they were very competent and tidy workers. John the electrician worked tirelessly as it wasn't an easy installation due to the thick walls etc in my house. He was very polite, with a good eye for detail. Ensuring the cables were all neat. He displayed a very high standard of work and asked us if we had any questions once he was finished. I also got loft insulation and these guys were very professional too as they even insulated my hatch, putting a seal around it too, 'it had just been a bit of ply board covering the hole'. The company put an extractor fan in my kitchen and bathroom and put a vent going outside to address a moisture problem i have had in the house for years. All workers were so clean and tidy I wouldn't know they had been here now. Could not recommend a company more.

The company was very prompt to provide an estimate for the work requested. After placing the order the team communicated each step of the work to be carried out and did so on schedule.

Green Home Systems supplied an excellent system - fourteen solar panels, two batteries etc., and it all works very well. The May weather has been superb, and the income from exported power well exceeds the total cost of electricity and gas. It won't be so good in the winter, of course, but the payback on the significant investment will be quick.

Be prepared to keep an eye on everything - is the system performing as it should? You can check using the excellent App.

Is the energy supplier applying the right tariff? Login and look at your account regularly. It took a while to get the export side of things working correctly.

Overall - delighted!

This installation was first class. I was shocked at the quick turn around of the installation, team turned up just before 0900 and everything was up and running (and generating power) by 1530 without a trace of mess. Very accommodating and very professional from start to finish. Extremely happy customer.

Good site visit and knowledgeable pitch at outset. Best value for money quote (out of three sought). Early date agreed for installation. 2 day job that was completed on time. Electrical team (x2) were knowledgeable, efficient and good communicators. Scaffolding team (sub contractors?) efficient with scaffold up and down quickly and solar panel installation (x12 panels) was completed in 3-4 hours by team of 3. Good equipment inverter and batteries x2 - Growatt with warranty/ guarantees etc. The system is working very efficiently already. Thanks Green Home Systems.

Disappointing installation after high expectations after survey visit.
Issues from day 1 with scaffold only at front of house and unclear plan as scaffolders asked us where panels were to be installed. Electrician then informed us cables couldn’t be run internally, this wasn’t explained at survey and resulted in small run of cable on external wall.
The EV charger was meant to be in the garage but installed on exterior wall, too costly to change so left as is. Rubbish left after install then sat for 4 weeks waiting to be picked up with endless promises of it being collected.
Then finally the set up was incorrect resulting in batteries not charging, not great during recent sunny weather but now sorted after electrician finally fixed it.
Actual installs of equipment looks great but with the issues I’ve had I hope it was a one off.

They tidied up quite well afterwards and took time to keep us informed.

Installation of the underfloor insulation was very efficient with staff at every level helpful and friendly.

Easy to contact and talk too work carried out as said good price and service all around would use again

Failed to turn up two times for assessment of property for solar panels.

The team came out to visit prior to undertaking the work to assess what was possible. I was impressed by both the experience and expertise of the staff, and their willingness to understand my current position - one of renovation. The 2 man team who arrived to undertake the work were excellent - punctual and pleasant, and their work was clean and tidy. The finished job was excellent. I would be happy to use them again

Did a really good job. Very responsive and everything done according to schedule. Would highly recommend
