Hampson Auctions Avis 87

Was interested in a few cars at Auction. Had to pay a £500 deposit to bid. I was unsuccessful which is fine, but 6 weeks later I am still battling them to get my deposit back. I have called them 4 times and been promised it multiple times
I would never buy from them now
Very poor customer service

Seller be ware - do not use them they only communicate when taking money - my car was sold with out reserve back in October I never got paid - I agreed for the car to go back into the next auction at bolesworth but Louie put it on some online auction without my knowledge and then it was sold again at bolesworth - to this date I have had no payment Louie is an outright liar and beware this is not a trustworthy company - I reached out to the owner Zach by email but was ignored I am now going through trading standards and legal approach - please please do not consign your car to them absolutely atrocious you have been warned !!!!!! There are some fake positive reviews showing it looks like every time a bad review is posted Hampsons try and upload a five star shameful !!!!

Avoid using this company at all costs they are scammers! They take money and try to undersell peoples cars! They add extra charges and promise to send back keys and V5 forms when cars are not sold with absolutely no intention of doing so! Avoid Avoid Avoid! I don’t know how they sleep at night!

Hampsons have a consistent pattern of scamming people! I myself was massively misled when I sold my car at their Bolesworth auction leading to a significant financial loss for myself. I was constantly phoning them and asking them to put a reserve on my car and was talked out of it everytime. My car eventually sold for less than half of what they assured me it would make! I was devastated!!

This is a consistent pattern and some people have been mislead out of £25k+

They try to hide negative reviews and pay people to put good reviews. Avoid!!!!!

Fraud calling for law firms to issue notices to innocent people posting videos about your scams Big boo hoo

Dont trust this business

After reading the reviews I was lucky I waited 3mnths to receive my deposit back,I was lied to many times,after threatening them with legal action they finally paid up,I have never sued anyone before and didn't realise the court required the forms in duplicate,so they returned them,I would have preferred to see them in court,I think they are running a ponzi scheme,I only got paid when new suckers pay them a deposit can't see them being in business for much longer,other auction houses have described them as a bunch of cowboysn

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

After calling me from my Autotrader ad to convince me enter my car into their auction (with a £300 cataloguing fee), they then called me 2 days before the auction to take it out as they'd sold it (though they'd never listed it).

Week after week, no money came my way despite constant chasing and false assurances. Over a month after the auction, they then decided that the "buyer" no longer wanted it and I needed to come and collect it!

Absolute joke. They are a bunch of amateurs masquerading as a big company.

DO NOT ENTER YOUR CAR INTO A HAMPSONS AUCTION!

There are other companies that do the same thing that you can trust and won’t fill you full of lies like this one.

After attending the Nov auction, I decided to sell a car at their most recent auction at Bolesworth Castle and couldn’t be happier with the experience. All staff were friendly and I was kept up to date throughout. Everything was explained and I was given all the documents to read and sign which clearly stated all the information about the process. I attended the auction on the day and it was very well run and staff were friendly and on hand to answer any queries anyone had. I would definitely use them again to either buy or sell a car in the future.

Zac and all staff are amazing the 458 Ferrari he had when I viewed a lovely Evo tme was amazing.
It’s a shame all the bad reviews he would be better off sticking to supercars and classics.
Dealing with customers that are worried about paying there shopping bills and there negative disappointing opinions.Why bother with the lower end stuff trying to help people with no reserves etc.
To be bitten by them after shame.

I bid on a car and “won it”.

I received no communication at all.

I had to chase them up to see if it even won the car.

Absolutely dreadful service.

If you bid they take ages to get back to you.

Very slow and inefficient team

Zak Hamilton needs to take some leadership lessons and train his team in getting back to customers.

This is a seriously poorly run business.

We listed our Jeep Wrangler for sale on Auto Trader for £53,000.

One of the employees from the auction company contacted my husband after obtaining his phone number and contact details from the Auto Trader listing. A person named Louise called my husband and assured him that they could sell our Jeep for the same price, or possibly even more, through their auction without any hassle.

Based on this assurance, my husband agreed and dropped the Jeep at their premises. After that, Louise sent my husband an entry form to sign. She repeatedly called and texted him, asking him to sign it quickly and did not give him enough time to properly read or understand the document.

Yesterday, the auction took place. However, the starting price was set at £25,000, which is far below the value of our vehicle. The highest bid reached only £29,500, which is completely unacceptable to us and far below the price we agreed to sell the vehicle for.

Now when we contact them, they are saying that the vehicle has already been sold, even though we never agreed to sell it for such a low amount.

We believe we have been misled and possibly subjected to fraud or misrepresentation. We request an urgent investigation into this matter and clarification regarding how the vehicle was sold without our consent at such a low price.
