Hello Divorce streamlined the divorce with excellent project management and deep knowledge of the divorce process. They were always kind, responsive, and professional with our questions, moved everything forward promptly, followed up with the courts, and kept us on track and informed every step of the way. It was great being able to talk to a lawyer without a retainer in small increments to get help or advice along the way and to have a lawyer look over our Marital Settlement Agreement to make sure everything was correct and to advise on the pros and cons of different provisions we'd included. The two lawyers I spoke to (in Hello Divorce's network) were high caliber. Getting all the forms finalized, served, and submitted to the court took only four months (granted, we were amicable). Hello Divorce turned what could have been an expensive, stressful, confusing process full of pitfalls into a smooth experience -- so grateful for that because divorce is hard enough without having to figure out all the logistics and administrative/legal forms and details. We saved tens of thousands of dollars without going through separate lawyers to complete the divorce. Highly recommend.

Hello Divorce, and Hannah in particular, made what was a very stressful and challenging situation feel a little less daunting. They made every step of the process clear and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

Our provider was generally very slow to respond and filings were often delayed. The process was often unclear and confusing. The end result of the process was my husband abandoning it and getting an aggressive lawyer to litigate. Waste of money.

Overall it was easy good job done staff was attentive but was expensive

Hello Divorce was the perfect solution for my amicable non-contested divorce. What immediately set them apart was an email I sent the founder - other companies were offshore and weren't available. Heather, founder and co-owner, not only responded by email quickly but scheduled a call. I had a real conversation, not with a lawyer, but someone who was empathetic to my situation and listened. I was sold and gave it a try. Glad I did. We ended up only spending about $2K on the divorce and was in front of the judge for 10 minutes - Done! (We had no kids). Why did it work:
1. I knew what they were and what they were not. They are a service that has legal, real estate and other experts available to keep costs down. They help file the documents needed by the court.
2. Hannah our account person was amazing - she was compassionate, on detail with what is needed to navigate the environment.
3. I owned my divorce. Crucial to know. My divorce was business only - I didn't convey emotional need to anyone other than my friends as a support. Don't bring your drama to this service. They are not counselors or there to take sides. They are a professional business who do care. Treat them nicely.
4. My divorce was truly amicable. There was no craziness and was uncontested between the two of us. My ex and I simply wanted to split things equally and move on. If you enter into the relationship with Hello Divorce and this is true it will work well. If it changes and either side is not amicable or contests some line item - yes, they have mediators, which is great. But its not their fault so don't blame them. Own your responsibility as a good client fit.
5. My ex and I were left with dignity, respect and money. Lawyers bill on disagreement if two people can't agree. Hello divorce starts without lawyers but people who know the process of filing and what's required. In my situation, my ex and I created our own terms of what we wanted to do, then hired a lawyer/mediator to go over the document so it would likely be accepted by the courts in our state. This was most important. The judge will not hear an unfair agreement, so we were in the right settlement zone that was fair for both of us.

I had no clue where to start when it came to my divorce. Court paperwork was always a reason for me to put if off, but I am so happy that HelloDivorce made it simple. I love that they doublechecked my paperwork. I felt like I did not have to worry about a thing.

It was succesfully handled, however the transparency was minimal. The communication with the company was very difficult. On a server reset we had to re-login and rebuild credentials. Another time we were given login credentials for another family's proceedings. I let them know but that wasn't a database issue but a human handled one that was corrected. Glad to be through it after nearly 2 years.

I haven’t gone through Hellodivorce yet, but I had lots of questions, cause my divorce is going to be tricky. By messaging with Jazmyne she gave me sooo much info that could have taken me hours to find online. They aren’t available in my state yet, but will be next month.

Just finalized my divorce. Although, my ex and I had a verbal agreement on custody and financial items, using Hello Divorce do the filing and paperwork was incredibly valuable and much appreciated. Worth getting the Pro version for peace of mind.

it was the best choice I could make for my divorce. I’m so glad I didn’t automatically hire a lawyer and pay thousands of dollars for a retainer fee. Not everyone needs to go that route. Hannah was so helpful all the time with all of my questions and concerns.

When I filed for divorce I was a little discouraged because of how long the cooling period is in California. Hello Divorce helped me
File accurately and constantly communicated with me in the process. They ensured I filled out everything correctly the 1st time and we were able to get my divorce final a few days before the cooling period ended. I’m grateful and thankful for their team and the resources they provide post divorce !

TL;DR
Hello Divorce is an accessible, streamlined platform that makes filling out divorce forms and getting answer to your questions simple (usually) and affordable. Chris and Neil were invaluable to me during this time and gave high-quality, low-cost advice and guidance. At times, I did ask my case managers for advice, but was told to talk to an attorney. (A little too much of that.) And the final judgement got mixed up a bit. But overall 8/10.

This is my second review for HelloDivorce. Now that the divorce is final, I wanted to give some feedback on the process as a whole.

What I said about the people with whom I worked still stands. Overall, I had a very good experience with everyone. I chose the Pro Plan, then upgraded to the Plus Plan with my ex so he could be gently guided along the process.

For reference, we divorced in California and the process took about 18 months. Because we took so long to get the steps done (our fault), we bounced around between a few case managers, which was kind of a bummer. However, they seemed to be able to transition us smoothly. And I was able to get good quality and consistent care and information from Chris (real estate) and Neil (attorney), regardless of the status of the divorce.

Both my ex and I did use HD's attorneys and I felt like there was a little discrepancy with the information regarding child support/marital support that had to be figured out in the end, but it's possible my ex did not retain and relay the information properly. We figured it out and thankfully it only took a few visits with the attorneys.

One unfortunate issue I did have was at the end of divorce proceedings. I was told that my case manager would "monitor the final judgement's status through the family court clerk's office." I took that to mean that I would be notified by the case manager when the divorce was final. Instead, my ex received paperwork in the mail just a couple of days before Christmas. I had no idea it was coming, and he got his papers before I did, so I could not prepare for it. It was just a bit shocking. When I asked about it later, I was informed that my case manager "would have to look at the forms that were received to let you know what is and is not final. *** County does not allow anyone to look up cases so I can only base the information on the forms." That was not made clear to me and I was very confused and somewhat saddened that the final judgement had been received like that.

In the end, net positive experience. I am glad I asked for help and got it when I needed it. The pricing model is fair and appreciated. Come prepared to meetings with attorneys and coaches so you can get the biggest bang for your buck.

If you don't have a contested divorce, and just need to paperwork going and have deadlines for accountability -- this is the service for you. Helpful account managers, good instructions, extra help when you need it. I'm so glad I did this cost effective method, and not a highly paid lawyer, eyeroll!

Had a great experience using Hello Divorce. Courtney was my case manager and was wonderful to work with, made things easy for me smh checking in to see how I was doing asking the way. She was very patient and understanding when filling out forms took longer than expected, and overall made the process so much smoother than if I’d done it alone.

Worst decision to use this service ever. They can't meet my needs, want to upsell me on more legal services, and won't refund my money after doing nothing but send me an email and one 5 minute phone conversation. No refunds after 24 hours should tell you everything you need to know about the quality of their service. Go somewhere else save yourself the headache and money.

Charlene was the case manager for my divorce. Despite my ex-spouse and I being in agreement on terms, direct communication with my ex was challenging. Charlene coordinated a plan to move the process forward which avoided the need to get attorneys involved by building trust with both parties. She also kept my spirits up during a time I was totally exhausted. I can't express enough gratitude for her support which felt genuine, kind and personal. The service I received from HelloDivorce exceeded my expectations, to the point where I felt almost guilty for how little (relatively speaking) I'd paid versus going through a law firm.

Use of codes and acronyms that are not clear to me. I was not supplied with a copy of the paper work submitted in the online portal, so was not sure what case manager was referencing.
