I have had a very straightforward experience using Helpling. It was easy to request a cleaner, and I have had an excellent experience with the cleaner Helpling found for me. I had a query for customer service and they replied promptly. Not all cleaners are reliable, however, the company does its best to support the customer.

Thorough cleaner who did a great job and an easy to use platform

We booked a fortnightly recurring cleaning job through Helpling, with a starting afternoon of 7th January. An hour prior to the cleaner’s visit we received a message from the cleaner to state that she won’t be able to make it. She was willing to reschedule, and I was fine with that. Then a couple of hours later, I first got an email stating that payment for the job had been processed. A couple of minutes later the cleaner messaged again to say she has taken the payment for the job.

In spite of the fact that we lost a full day by staying home since this was the first cleaning job, I was OK until I was charged without first being informed. You don’t process s payment if a job has not been done. It’s as simple as that. Even if you do, you first inform your customer that you are charging them and wait for this to be approved. I raised this with Helpling through the official channels. Received a response that if I can share screenshots of messages exchanged with the cleaner they will refund without any delays. Did that. Sent them screenshots of the messages exchanged as well as the email for payment before I was informed that I was being charged. Since then, there is absolute radio silence from the Helpling team. It’s been 10 days and no response, no refund, nothing. This is bordering on thievery and it’s clear they don’t care.

Do yourself a favour and stay away from this service. According to them you cancel at thd last minute, you pay. Understandable.. the cleaner loses money and can’t find a last minute replacement job. Apparently, though, in this case, even if the cleaner cancels at the last minute, you still pay and then run around chasing Helpling for your money. And .. what kind of a business does not list a phone number to call on? Thoroughly disgusted and will never use the services of Helpling again.
