As another review has said, they charge you a good price for a HPI check but a week later I was charged £39.90 but them for no reason? Apparently it’s a subscription service, absolute CON. Companies like this shouldn’t be allowed. Disgusting don’t bother

Absolutely disappointed!
They added wrong information in my car history. Information that can be easily fixed by searching my car on DVLA. And yet, they refuse to help me or fix it unless I paid £19 for a check online.
Their error was stopping all 3 agencies that used it from buying the car. So now, I can't sell my car and need to pay them for a fix. That's ridiculous.
When I called them today, they wouldn't let me speak with anyone else, because apparently they had only one person in the office and said that i should ask the companies that run the checks to put in a claim.
So now, I need to go through a third party company, depend on them to do it in order for HPI to fix.a mistake that THEY DID and IT'S COSTING ME.
I ended up with no solution and just the hopes that this will somehow get sorted by other company that is helping me.

Fraudulent website - got charged £39 the day after, although this wasn't what I signed up for. Ridiculos that they can charge that after a one time payment. DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE!

Update: despite them claiming their company is not associated with this charge, I can confirm that they are the ones who attempted this charge, they just did so under a different name, which made it initially hard to track down and cancel this recurring payment from my account. The confusion is intentional from their part, and the hundreds of reviews that also experiecned the same scam confirm this.

I checked hpi for 1 car. Never said it is a subscription. Next day collected £39 as subscription. Fraudulent

Scam, paid for hpi check next day company britishdrive.com tried to charge me £39 for some kind of subscription. Luckily my bank stopped it. AVOID.

Yes of course if you buy the cheap £9.99 hpi report it looks like you are getting all of the info that you need. But for instance, they tell you that the car was written off but they don't tell you what category. A,B S or N, which is probably the information you are trying to buy. For that you need to buy the £20 report. I think its not quite honest and it misleading so I won't be using them for an HPI report in future.

Absolute Con!
Purchased 3 checks, carried out 2 then found out for some obscure reason, that being to rip people off, the final one had expired!! Why do they need to expire!!!! At no point was I made aware of this when I purchased them but I, sure they will say it’s hidden somewhere in the small print!!!!

Contacted the customer service today, i must say this is the worst company i dealt with for a long time, customer services staff sitting in Leeds was very unprofessional, i hope all the dealership boycott using this company service

I used Gumtree to advertise my motorcycle and it was removed saying HPI had shown it as stolen,scrapped etc etc, however none of these are correct, the phone number I was given to talk about this does not work, it is virually impossible to speak to them about this, I assume their AI bott needs looking at?

The HPI report is a joke, i've tried numerous times to contact them to tell them that their report is not right and that they can verify the anomalies on their report with the government website. 4 months later still nothing - they reply and tell me it can take up to 10 days for a reply, explain 4 months then!!??

AVOID - GO FOR A BASIC REPORT WITH SOMEONE ELSE AS THIS SHOWER IS USELESS. JUST MONEY MAKING - DISGUSTING.

The report was instant and clear. Helped me feel confident about the cars history before buying!

Very poor customer service, old records that are out of date, numerous emails sent with no action or reply, clearly wanting me to pay for their services…avoid avoid avoid, they advertise a phone number on the website but it’s out of date so they can’t even get that right lol total amateurs

Paid 30 for the 3 check service. Did not get report. Tried to contact via website but no response. Will be forced to claw back money via credit card company.

You have my car recorded as stolen from information from an insurance company. I purchased the car in 2015. It was stolen in 2015 and returnd to me a few weeks later. I have had it since then. Your records are not up to date. I recently tried to part exchange the vehicle but the car dealer wont accept my car as you still have recorded it as stolen. I have spoken you your offices to try and resolve the situation on 3 occassions but it has not been resolved.

So many errors in their HPi check reports. Selling my van, their records show a total write off. Checked it out and as I believed total rubbish from them. I couldn’t leave 0 stars otherwise I would. Read all the negative reviews on them. Also read their £30k terms and conditions full of get out clauses. happy for them to have my details but they won’t get in touch and they know why.

I asked them to discuss removal of inaccurate mileage records, they told me they can't talk to me unless I pay them first to talk (e.g. do a search), I then asked who regulates them, told by them they are not regulated in the UK - I wouldn't use this service if that is the case
