Great service well worth the money for peace of mind when purchasing a used vehicle

Gave one star originally as I couldn't give lower. AA give out this website and I thought it was an AA site as they initially have their sign up.
Confusing to use, if you are not a regular to it and you could get lost as I did. BUT I DID RECEIVE A REFUND AND I AM HAPPY NOW. THANK YOU.

Would always recommend a HPI check as No One can be trusted when buying a used vehicle. I made that mistake once, the guy seemed so genuine and honest, wasn't short of a few quid, lived in a very respectable area but the bike he sold me was a category B. This was further impacted by the total lack of help and consideration of DVLA who quite simply don't care and will be quick to wash their hands of any involvement. However this maybe just my bad luck as my bike purchase has now led to a Police investigation for insurance fraud with the previous owner, Allianz Insurance, the MOT testing station and DVLA. Thinking some heads are gonna roll, whoop whoop.

This company is currently completely useless not taking calls locked out of account 3 months ago now sending payment demands, but haven’t provided a service. Tried several times to call them 50 minute hold then message says unable to take calls. Suspect all staff on furlough taking fees without offering the services! Is this legal?

 I paid for a HPI check & assumed form there advertising material they would also check for Finance outstanding, I paid for a HPI check £9:99 and then on the same page your information comes, they ask you for a further £4:99 to check furher any outstanding finance (Unbelievable) I paid the £4:99 & awaited the alleged response within secounds (Nothing I contacted the company stright away & they denied I contacted them) they took the futher £4:99 but failed to supply data paid for.

I didnt buy the Vehicle due to not been able to check it, my seller also got distressed waiting for me tk recive a check that never came. Eventually got through hours later to be told " we all make mistakes" wasn't botherd, so I asked for the full £14:98 I had paid they refused. They also denied I had contacted them hours before.

I then got a lecture by email from them telling me how highly experienced Sarah was I spoke to, yes a lecture, Not signed by any person so for all I know it was Sarah, after reading poor reviews I wish i had never paid them for a service I didnt receive, Stay away folks stay away...Warning as well pay for a HPI & then they want further money to check any finance owed, stay away.
I asked for the name of the Director & received No reply.
Again stay away

I have used hpi check for many years and I have found that they give me all the information that I need to be confident in going ahead to purchase a motor that i am interested in.

At this moment in time HPI are a waste of space ! They are not answering telephone calls, the live chat option is not working and puts you through to the leave message service, three days later and the message I left is still unanswered ?! If you charge for a premium service then give it !!
At the moment avoid this company and use someone else.

Don't even think of buying a secondhand car till you've checked it with theses,I've just saved my son £4000, dodger car dealer on ebay say cars mint m8,it was a right off.please please use these first

Went to buy a car recently and decided to pay for an HPI check prior to going. All seemed OK when I viewed the car, but as I'd purchased the HPI check I thought I'd just fill in the final details, VIN Number and V5c document date. Well first of all there isn't a date on the V5c that states 'the following date is the document date' secondly the app wouldn't accept what we all agreed was the document date, it wouldn't take any of the dates on the V5c either. I went ahead with the purchase anyway as everything else tied up and the seller was in my opinion, trustworthy. When I got home, I tried again but with no luck, so I tried phoning first the DVLA, who because of Covid-19 had closed that phone line. I then tried to call HPI Check but no answer, just nothing, tried again three more times that day and the same. HPI Check refuse to acknowledge that there is something wrong with their software or links to the DVLA and refuse to refund the money. Poor customer relations.

I have received a letter this morning from hpicheck requesting information on a car they state I previously owned from 2012-2016. I have actually only owned the car since 2018.
The letter also states someone is interested in buying the car but as I'm not selling it I don't see how this is possible!
They had 2 wrong addresses on the letter against my name so how I got the letter is surprising in itself.
They also state the car has previously had a different registration when it has not.
I would avoid this company at all costs.

More expensive than other sites but a trusted brand . The brand the trade uses ! .
