HSL Chairs - Exeter Avis 

We had a very good experience on our visit. Our sales assistant Rachel was very knowledgeable, helpful and answered all our questions. We were able to take our time and the whole process of choosing our chair and ordering it was very straightforward. A nice cup of tea was also much appreciated. A very happy and successful visit.

I rated three stars, because my only issue with the chair on arrival, was that it was a completely different colour to the one I ordered. I rang the retail shop that I purchased it from and also the customer care team, to explain my issue. I had checked both the sample fabric and the colour of the chair I before ordering it, to be told that the sample fabric was the one ordered, but even customer care said that there was a very noticeable difference between the sample fabric and the chair that was made for me, as they had taken photos of it before delivery. Their excuse was that the sample fabric could vary from the colour of the chair I ended up receiving. After having spent nearly £3,500 on the chair I ordered, I wasn't even offered a discount on the chair that was delivered to me in the wrong colour ! The chair itself is as I expected, but being flogged off with the colour being completely different from the one I ordered, isn't acceptable and it's not good customer service. I still feel that a discount for their error should have been offered to me. Regards, Audrey Ashworth

Sice my disappointment about the different colour of my chair, the Manager of HSL, has at least kindly given me a little financial good will gesture. I appreciate her acknowledgement about my upset.

The person who served us was very knowledgeable and spent a long time with us trying out different riser options for my elderly mother.
Excellent service all round.

We phoned the day before to check if we could bring our dog.
Kelly promptly phoned us back and we arranged to come in.
We were met at the door by Kelly who showed us the range available and comprehensively explained the sizes and additional options, prices and delivery lead times.
We were able to make our decision to go ahead without any sales pressure.
Kelly was both very friendly and knowledgeable, all in all a very pleasant experience.

This most definitely was NOT a high pressure sales experience. the 2 staff members seated us in various chairs and carefully explained why they were or were not a good fit. this demonstrated to my wife and i the foolishness of perhaps buying cheaper and inferior quality products. It was very reassuring to know that the sales staff were NOT paid on commission

Rachel was great. Really knew about each product and was super efficient when I called the shop to confirm something. A great asset to HSL.

Linda was very knowledgeable, helpful, showing and letting us try the different types and sizes of chairs to make sure we got what was right for us. We enjoyed our experience with HSL and it was a nice cup of coffee too.

We went to the Exeter store to look and try out chairs. Linda, the specialist consultant, was friendly, knowledgeable and gave us all the time needed to test chairs. I sat in one for an hour and was kindly given coffee and biscuits. We didn't feel rushed and so had confidence in the chair we purchased. Thank you Linda.

The excellent service in the showroom in Exeter provided by Linda, the quality of the furniture, the comfort it provides.
This is the 3rd chair I have bought from this HSL. The first for me, the second for a family member and the third for me in another room.
The reason - comfort for a painful back- plus excellent quality and good looks.
It has been a major investment in my comfort and well being. Now I need a portable one for trips away (if only)

Personal attention from Kelly from the minute we parked the car until we made the final decision to buy. Very thorough attention to help us choose finishes and colours on both chairs and bed. Kelly was absolutely brilliant while we dillied and dallied. Patience and a high degree of professionalism from start to finish.

The staff at the Exeter store are so helpful & not pushy, just want to help you as best they can.
Rachel has listened to our needs & kept in touch, as we weren't initially in a position to go ahead, advising us of new products & discounts.
It makes such a pleasant change for true customer service to take the forefront of a retail business.

Today I purchased a recliner chair at the HSL department store in Exeter, Marsh Barton and I was assisted by Linda. I found Linda was very professional, friendly and welcoming. She took time to explain about all the recliner chairs and their features, let me try them and I particularly liked that Linda wasn't a pushy sales person. I therefore felt relaxed and eventually I found a recliner chair that I was so comfortable in, after having previously looked around many mobility furniture shops, selling recliner chairs. Linda kindly offered to make me a cup of tea, whilst we discussed all the features the chair had to offer and she demonstrated how the remote worked and gave me plenty of time to test the remote for myself. There was no pressure put on me to buy the chair, but I knew it was the chair I really wanted after a long search. Linda told me about the company, went through the fabric choices, warranties, payment options etc with me. I felt that the service and experience was very good and I would highly recommend HSL. Everything about this company so far has been friendly efficiency.
When we went to the Exeter store, we were met by Linda who was so helpful, she really knew the products but was not pushy at all. She and Kelly made the whole experience of buying a new settee so easy and painless, unlike other companies I have used in the past.
Just waiting now for our settee to arrive!!
