Untrustworthy and unprofessional
Unprofessional, after I made a first booking (Banda Sea - Raja Ampat) and then subsequent bookings, Brett Robertson, the sole director of this NZ limited company began messaging me on a personal level from a WhatsApp business account (between March - mid October 2025). Messages about guests, alleged business and personal relationships, lies, and sob stories including complaints about debts, and lack of money to afford things including medical treatment. Messages complaining about Teagan his team member at Infinite Blue Dive Travel. A real victim mentality.
Ultimately because of the lack of integrity, I transferred bookings into my own name so I could cease contact with Brett, block him, and take control of my own bookings.
When I did this I identified that payments I had made to Brett at Infinite Blue Dive Travel (a limited company) as deposits for my bookings had not been sent to the operators in full, with Brett sending a lesser amount and retaining the rest of the funds I had paid as a deposit presumably as early commission, or for his use/cash flow until the final payment was due. In one case I had paid the booking in full, which Brett receipted and he asserted the booking had been paid in full to the operator. However, behind the scenes, Brett had only submitted a deposit to the operator, and without my knowledge or agreement he had kept hold of the remainder of my payment for six months and had not made the full or final payment to the operator.
When looking at Brett’s google reviews for Infinite Blue Dive Travel there are 5 star reviews from his non-diving family (mother, brother, sister-in-law), friends and some acquaintances on there, same for Facebook.
When I transferred my bookings over from Infinite Blue Dive Travel into my name it became very obvious that Infinite Blue Dive Travel does not have the industry links and connections as asserted in its marketing material (some of which is outdated) and when offering trips. In the case of some of my bookings Brett had cold called the operators to make the bookings. Stock photos and photos and videos taken by others are routinely used to market and promote Brett and Infinite Blue Dive Travel online and despite what Brett might have people believe, Brett rarely dives, does not go on the liveaboards he sells, and when he does dive, it is short, and shallow. I also found that the majority of diving experiences being offered had not been tried and tested as alleged. PADI teaching credentials lapsed, and not taught PADI or run an IDC for many years now.
Not a bonded travel agency and no financial protection in the case of failure.
Even the other reviews here on Trustpilot are so obviously fake and were written after I posted my negative review.
