Avoid this bank to spare yourself from being insulted.

I would absolutely not recommend anyone to open an account with this bank. The reason is simple — I felt like I was being treated as a criminal.

From the moment I started the application through their app, until I received their email reply five days on 31st Oct 2025, they asked me to provide the following excessively detailed documents:

Previous Employment History

A brief summary of your previous employment, including:

1. Job titles

2. Employer names

3. Dates of employment (approximate is acceptable)

4. Please confirm your expected initial deposit amount and advise where these funds will come from.

5. Provide supporting documentation, such as a bank statement, to evidence your current savings.

6. Please also confirm how these savings were accumulated (e.g., from previous employment, family support, or other sources).

If I were buying a property, and the solicitor firm required me to provide such documents to verify the source of my funds, I would completely understand, because a property purchase easily exceeds £200,000, which is a very large sum.

However, if I merely want to deposit £1,000 and still have to go through this almost insulting process, then that is absolutely unacceptable.

Perhaps this bank could also operate as a solicitor firm — I’m sure that would suit them perfectly and help their business thrive even more.

Excellent Current Account, cool card, decent app

Easy to use current account (with interest!!) with cool debit card and virtual card, app pretty simple to use, design basic but it works. Since adopting LHV applepay has been added which is a must these days if used as an everyday card, has worked flawlessly in europe as well with no additional foreign transaction charges. Excellent so far...

Unimpressed

App process was more interested in my ID than offering me my savings choice which was a fixed bond. I eventually find out I have to put money into a current account first. This should have been explained in the first place as I’m not willing to do that it’s difficult enough as it is so this isn’t the bank for me. For all I know I might be funding serious crime in Estonia!

The app is really easy to use

The app is really easy to use- quick, clear and simple to set up :)
I've now added my LHV card to my Apple Wallet which is great for day to day transactions!

The banking app that is more dead than alive

The app keeps dying on me and LHV seem blissfully unaware that my debit card arrived almost a week ago and I am still unable to actually activate it. Main issue is the very very unreliable app.

Payment Transfer Limits

The Payment Transfer limits on the current account are not readily shown on the website. The withdrawal amounts are very low. However LHV have confirmed that if you ever need to withdraw more — for example, when your bond matures — just get in touch with their team and they will help arrange it. A very helpful and positive response from LHV

To help protect your money and prevent financial crime, we apply limits to the amount that can be transferred or withdrawn from your current account. These are currently set at £10,000 per day and £20,000 per month.

If you ever need to withdraw more — for example, when your bond matures — just get in touch with our team at help@lhv.com and we’ll help arrange it.

We also appreciate your point about the limits not being easy to find on the website, and we’ll take that feedback on board as we continue improving how we share important information.

Great interest rate

I like the interest rate and speed and ease to set up the account

Dislike the fact you have to fund your current account and then transfer across to fixed rate bond - by which time the interest rate may have changed
