A Cautionary Experience with Lightspeed: Issues with Accuracy and Reliability
I have been a Lightspeed user for over two years, and unfortunately, my experience with this system has been far from satisfactory. Despite the time they've had to refine their service, it seems the platform is not yet ready for seamless, reliable operations.
Incorrect Reporting: The system struggles to generate accurate daily live reports. The figures often fail to align with actual business reports, leading to incorrect takings. This is a critical flaw for any business relying on accurate financial tracking.
Service Charge Discrepancies: The service charge is not always applied correctly, which causes additional headaches when reviewing transactions.
Unreliable Payment Machines: Payment machines occasionally fail, leading to delays and an overall poor customer experience.
When these problems were reported, Lightspeed acknowledged they were aware of the issues but could only offer a promise to resolve them “as soon as possible.” Unfortunately, no substantial progress has been made, and the same issues persist.
Given my experience, I would strongly advise businesses to exercise caution before adopting Lightspeed. While the platform has potential, its current flaws outweigh its benefits. For now, it may be better to consider other systems that offer more reliable reporting and payment solutions.

From the moment we started, Emilie was attentive, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. Lightspeed Retail has an intuitive and straightforward interface that makes it easy to use. It connects all of our point-of-sale systems, which makes stock control and reporting accurate and easy to analyze. Monica, my point of contact was incredibly helpful. She broke down the whole system for me so that I could fully understand all the features which was great while getting set up.

Ozana and Monica were both very helpful and explained the process clearly. We were set up within a few days and working like we had been on the system for years. Its a really intuitive system but everyone at Lightspeed we have spoken to have been very helpful, detailed and taken their time to show us how to do things properly. Great team and cracking system!

Like many businesses, we need to lower costs from time to time.
Our POS system was becoming expensive, so a less expensive option was very much needed; suspecting that a cheaper platform would have fewer features/benefits was a worry.
There are many systems out there that are tailored to the hospitality clan and food retailer. Although segments can be added, it would be at a considerable cost.
A fellow retailer in our town has been using LightSpeed for some time and recommended that I try it out.
BLINKING HECK!
Lightspeed is sophisticated without being complicated. It's easy to use, has a beautifully clear interface, and I now have so many features that are included in the monthly cost.
Adding stock is a breeze; there's no need to abbreviate Skus because of the maximum number of characters! You can create as many colours as you want. Reports Galore that you can make to cover every aspect of the business.
As a family business, we have spent thousands on Electronic Tills and Software over the last thirty years. Wow, it's refreshing how some things have changed for the better.
Thanks to Josephine, I greatly appreciated your patience, kindness, and humour during the few weeks of training.

We have yet to sign up for Lightspeed, but I'm writing this review about a lovely young man named Mo who was making door-to-door visits this evening in Skegness. He was incredibly friendly and answered each question I had. He was patient, kind, and a top salesperson. Thanks again Mo, we need more people like you around :)

We have just finished the onboarding process, after moving from a different system. Quality of service and responsiveness has been great. In particular, the person taking care of our account (Maddy) has been incredibly supportive and she went above and beyond to make sure our onboarding process went as smoothly as possible... if we had any issues, she was even replying to emails during the weekends and evenings!

Changing to Lightspeed, I had to re connect to our printer/scanner. I need this urgently for business every day. I could not succeed. I called Vinnie, our local Lightspeed rep. He very willingly came the next morning. After several failed attempts due to a technical fault witrh my printer, he still persisted, even when we could see it could not possibly work. He would not give up, and then succeeded. I cannot
praise him enough for spending so much time and effort. I would have been in real trouble without his help.

The onboarding team are second to none. I have done some investigation before settling on lightspeed as an all in one site and pos, so I have experienced a number of onboarding in a short space of time!
Since taking on Rawr&More I have been looking for something with outstanding customer services ( it's what I aim for too) and stock control over the website and Pos from one repository, so now we are done!

Well after a year of trawling, trialing , being stung and just simply frustrated. I found light speed! If your reading by this your probably thinking like I did about reviews it’s made up, well I can sssure you this is not. Did it come straight forward and hassle free …well frankly no. Nothing in life does. It here is the difference they worked very hard to ensure I was completely satisfied and made sure everything was right for me. And if you’re lucky enough to get Maddie doing your onboarding, well you will get what I mean. I highly recommend this business. The software and hardware is so easy to use.
