A.V Smiths are an independent, wholly owned family funeral service. 7 generations of the Lodge family have been helping local families in their time of need. For 240 years we have provided funerals, both modern & traditional, with reverence and compassion, for all faiths and the non-religious. We bring our Lodge difference to every service offered including our own legal team (providing wills, probate and lasting POAs) and our highly skilled masons providing unique memorials, inscriptions and design work. Our own inclusive funeral plan is managed by our team of specialists in the pre-planning/payment of funerals. Their ‘My Funeral Wishes’ service helps capture all key details. We also supply floral tributes, cremation urns, keepsake jewellery

Excellent guidance and care from all staff
Kim and Kerry were both so lovely , understanding and patient . They listened and guided us through all the planning and made a very difficult time easier to bear. Also the men on the day of the funeral were smart ,professional and very respectful. We loved how traditional the whole process was and we're very grateful to all the stall at A V Smiths.

Support provided in what is a very difficult and emotional period.
The availability to support with questions relating to the whole process of collection of the deceased.
All staff were respectful, understating, demonstrating empathy.
If you are looking tor a funeral directors, I can’t fault any of the process or qualities provided by Lodge Brothers.

We as a family have used AV for my grandparents snd parents and now my daughter’s funerals . I would highly recommend they took all the stress out of the arrangements. Kim was brilliant anything we wasn't sure of Kim would get back to us and guided us through the whole process . The day went beautifully without hitch thank you do much.

Every one at av smith was so nice
Every one at av smith was so nice , from Kim in the office to the pallbearers at the funeral. They sorted out a lovely celebrant to talk at the funeral and she popped to my house which is miles away to talk about mum, thank you again

Very efficient and respectful on the day of the funeral - appreciated the discreet timing prompts between exiting the church and moving onto the crematorium. We were also well supported by Kim in the office who provided guidance throughout the whole process. Would recommend Lodge Bros.

Kim was fantastic, ensuring everything went smoothly from start to finish with meticulous attention to detail. Keith, the conductor and his team, were excellent—professional, compassionate, and supportive throughout. Everyone made a very difficult time much easier, and we couldn’t fault them.
