Title: A deeply disappointing experience – £7.6 million dispute handled unfairly

I have been a customer of Lottoland and my experience has been extremely disappointing.

In June 2026, I placed bets on the Brazil Quina de São João lottery through Lottoland. The website continued to display a countdown timer and accept bets and payments even though the draw had already taken place. Lottoland later admitted that it had failed to apply the correct cut-off time because it had not realised that this special annual draw was taking place earlier than usual.

Two of my bets matched all five winning numbers, with potential winnings of £7.6 million. However, Lottoland voided the bets, arguing that the result was already known when I placed them.

I took my complaint to IBAS, hoping for an independent and fair assessment. Unfortunately, the decision went in Lottoland’s favour, despite the adjudication explicitly acknowledging that the operator had made a mistake by failing to apply the correct cut-off time.

What I find particularly frustrating is that Lottoland’s own error meant its website continued accepting bets after the actual draw, while customers had no clear indication that betting had already closed in reality.

I also questioned why another bet placed at the same time was paid out, while the two bets associated with the disputed winnings were voided.

I understand that lottery bets are subject to terms and conditions. However, customers should be able to rely on accurate information, clear deadlines and a properly functioning betting platform.

This experience has seriously damaged my trust in Lottoland. I spent months pursuing this complaint and gathering evidence, only to be left deeply disappointed by the outcome.

I would urge anyone considering using this platform to read the terms and conditions carefully and keep screenshots and payment confirmations for every transaction.

Based on my personal experience, I would not feel comfortable recommending Lottoland.

I made a withdrawal of over £1000 and was asked for documents to verify my identity. I had no problem sending the documents and received an email afterwards that it could take 2 days to complete verification. 2 days later I am being told via chat I need to wait another day then the next day im told the same. They just tell you lies and say anything to make you go away. It will be 5 days of waiting tomorrow and I have no faith in seeing my money.

Update - my account has been verified, just waiting for winnings to be deposited into my bank. Will if funds are received.
