I do not even wish to give this event 1 star! Shambles from start to finish! 20 mins que to get into the car park no AMPI or checking of parking tickets (prepaid £7 in advance) so could have parked for free.
Directed to park in a muddy field where the majority of cars were getting stuck in the mud and having to be rescued to park.
ViP tickets purchased for que jump and food tokens..no que jumps or vip areas anywhere no information given on food stalls taking "vip tokens"
Each and every food stall not taking tokens. £10 each for a hot dog! £3 per can of drink.
No santa grotto or xmas market anywhere in the event. Fair ground rides £5per child per turn!
Drone light display delayed by 25mins and lasted 10 mins out of the stated 25 mins.
1.5 hours back to the car to fight your way out of the car park. More stuck vehicles and no one directing traffic.
Apologetic response as to technical faults but not actually acknowledged at the event people were left guessing the story as half the drones not in flight black out at the end of the show.
Avoid this company like the plague as NO Refunds being processed even after acknowledgement of their own errors.
Awful
Awful, the worst thing we have seen and a complete waste of well earned money!!
We had spent a significant amount of money on tickets as a special 6th birthday present for my daughter, yet the entire experience left us extremely dissatisfied.
The show itself was so underwhelming that my daughter asked to leave just 10 minutes after it began. This was heartbreaking given it was meant to be her birthday treat.
On top of this, we were charged an additional £10 for parking upon arrival, which felt unreasonable considering the already high ticket price. To make matters worse, we were then left waiting in a queue for two hours, which only added to the frustration and disappointment of the day.
Overall, the experience fell far below expectations, and certainly below what we believed we were paying for. I would appreciate a response addressing these issues, along with information on how you intend to resolve this.Everyone needs a REFUND!!!
If I could give zero I would
If I could give zero I would. Awful awful awful
Watching Their drones is like trying to identify a 2 year olds drawing.
Dreadful show - so bad it’s made the national news. The company have the opportunity to do the right thing and issue refunds to those that want it. I for one will happily take them to court over this. Don’t ever book an event of theirs!
Absolute scam No Santa's grotto The…
Absolute scam No Santa's grotto The drones didn't work couldn't make out any pictures. The entertainment wasn't entertainment. My children could have done better in their 2 years old. Absolute joke The company takes your money and there is nothing for it. The parking was diabolical dangerous. This company shouldn't be allowed. You literally got nothing for your money. I paid a 120 pounds for my family to go. And I've got nothing from it. We ended up leaving the drone show because there was no point staying because you couldn't see any of the pictures and it will stop working after 11 minutes. One hundred and twenty pound, taken for nothing.Absolutely disgusting company. No refunds offered just told a pathetic. Sorry advertisement, even though they've acknowledged their mess up. I hope this company goes under and people should not go to these people and book events with them.Absolute waste of time waste of money disgusting. Nothing felt christmas about it it was purely a money making scheme.
Absolute waste of money!
Absolute waste of money from start to finish overpriced parking (even for disabled parking you still had to walk miles) and don’t even get me started on how long it took to get out of the place! Not a single stall in sight except a ridiculously over priced gift shop tent which was selling the same cheap crap you can get from pound land! The only things there were food trucks (which every queue was ginormous and about £12-£15 for a small portion of chips and a burger that tasted like cardboard, even just to get a hot drink (two sips and it’s gone) was about £5/6!) Fun fair rides which was mediocre, had seen better days and again stupidly expensive at £5 a go, as I said before no stalls at all selling Christmas crafts and homemade goods and there was no Santas grotto which was all advertised over there posters adverts and page…… you even got a time schedule sent in an email saying stalls opened at 2pm Christmas carols at 4pm and drones at 5pm with a fire show at 5:30 There was no carol singing at all either! We were waiting around for hours doing nothing but trying to keep warm and the kids entertained and then to top it off when the drones finally came on (half an hour later than scheduled) half weren’t even working so you couldn’t even make out the shapes or follow the story properly and for the ‘grand finale’ we were just looking at a completely black sky because the drones had stopped working altogether, show lasted approximately 10-15 mins at best when we were promised at least 25! unfortunately we even stayed for the fire show hoping it might of been abit better even though people were already annoyed and leaving by this point but no they didn’t miss much as it was just the same people from the opening of the show prancing around again out of time to the music but this time with fire on the end of a stick! a few times they even dropped them and had to stop to pick them up or they kept going out and they had to keep relighting them! An absolute disgrace and a waste of a day and money we deffo won’t be returning or recommending this event to anyone!
Terrible experience.
I paid £178 for 5 VIP tickets to Ardingly 30/11 which was supposed to include food tokens. None of the vendors we went to accepted them so ended up paying an additional £44 for 3 cold burgers and chips. The light show was a total washout which started late, half of the drones didn't work and the "grand finale" end was complete darkness. The parking was expensive and badly monitored at £10. The event was badly run, aweful substandard performers trying desperately to cheer up an already fed up and cold crowd with one guy making inappropriate comments to a child. No Christmas themes, grotto or festive cheer at all. Total waste of money.
Absolutely awful experience from start…
Absolutely awful experience from start to finish. A total scam out to rinse as much money as possible from everyone. We paid for “VIP” tickets at an extra cost and there was nothing VIP about it. Images the drones showed were so terrible you had no idea what you were looking at, then they stopped working completely. Parking was an extortionate joke, ‘pre and post event entertainment’ was abysmal and the rides and food disgustingly overpriced. I will never be booking anything like this again and will be pursuing a full refund. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
Avoid total scam artists
We had to wait outside in the cold for hours due to the late start of the show.
The drone display was confusing, and towards the end, the drones stopped working entirely.
The advertised fire show did not take place.
The singing and dancing before the main event were of very poor quality.
Food and ride prices were extremely high.
Exiting the car park took over an hour, adding further frustration.
A total scam event
A total scam event. Nothing was as it was promised. I get that technical issues happen, but the rest of the event was also way, way below par.
The company ought to have taken it on the chin and refunded even part of the cost to appease people. Their silence and reluctance to do so, is just winding people up more than they already were.
Christmas and peoples’ kids.
Two things you don’t mess with. This messed with both.
To quote Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman… “big mistake… HUGE!”
First impressions count.
I was always taught that first impressions count, I can positively say last night was the first and last time I will put myself and my family through a Lumina drones run show. Firstly and this really wasn't their fault but the day had to change because if the weather, obviously you can't fly drones in torrential wind and rain.
We decided to still attend the next day and the issues with the running became apparent before we made it through Ardingly. Die to the extremely poorly run stewarding it took over half an hour to travel just 1.2 miles to park.
We had to pay £7 for parking which Itself is ridiculous, we didn't have our parking ticket scanned and although there were claims of ANPR I didn't see any such devices so although £7 isn't a great amount, in the grand scheme of things with over 1000 cars that's a large amount to make.
There was no sign of the Christmas market stalls or Santa's grotto, if they were there they were hidden very well.
The Drone show itself was farcical, it was around 15/20 minutes later than scheduled with at least half of the drones either not operational or just failing to light up in the air. The only thing that could be made out really was a giant tooth.
I understand technical difficulties but when you've paid £94 for tickets and the main attraction doesn't even run properly and just abruptly finished before the end of the story.
Trying to exit was then frankly quite dangerous, there were no stewards anywhere controlling the egress with what seemed the whole audience squeezing out in one go.
Not only were there literally hundreds of people trying to leave at once the cars were not being controlled and being allowed to continue driving through the crowds of people forcing people onto the grass and mud areas.
I will be pursuing a charge back through my bank because this company will avoid a willing refund at all costs and as I said first impressions count so I would whole heartedly refuse tickets to another show .
I'm sure not everyone has had a bad experience with this company and their shows but we did so just really would not recommend.
Very poor experience and hugely disappointed
We attended the Rudolph show and it was a total shambles. There were numerous issues with the drones themselves with many (if not the majority) failing to take off and join the display. The music and narrative soundtrack didn't start with the display. The display had so many missing drones that it was impossible to work out what the drones were meant to be showing. The finale was totally dark as the drones landed prematurely.
The rest of the show was an exercise in price gouging a captive audience, with extremely high prices for food, drink and the fair rides. No seats, no shelter, and no real atmosphere.
The parking was a horrendous mess, with zero coordination from the event team. It took well over an hour to get out of the site.
Sadly, this was a total let down. I would not give this company another penny.
What a waste of money
What a waste of money, the show was a shambles, food was enormously over priced, no Christmas stalls or Santas grotto as advertised! Most of the drones weren’t working properly, couldn’t make out the what they were!! I wasted £200 and fuming, no refunds, I would never go to their show again or recommend people go!! The whole thing including over priced parking, fairground rides was a disappointment & disgrace!!!
Shame there isn’t a zero.
Shame there isn’t a zero.
These are con artists who charged us high ticket prices for an event where nothing was delivered.
No Christmas magic, no festivities, no santas grotto. An overpriced fairground with mediocre warm-up act, and drones that didn’t even work.
Totally shambolic.
Unsafe venue not suitable for this type of event, customer service shocking. They delete posts on their social media if you dare type the truth.
Do not buy from this company and do not attend an event. It’s daylight robbery
Was nothing like advertised
Was nothing like advertised. Extremely poor.
Avoid at all costs!!!
Wish I could give zero stars!!!
Only gave 1 star because you can't give none!! Advertised a festive event! Nothing about it was festive, badly organised parking that was billed as 'free' but was not!! No Christmas stalls, grotto, just expensive food stalls and rides. 'Entertainment' was appallingly amateurish and the delayed drones were clearly not working right from the start. Awaiting a refund which they are current refusing to give!!
Wouldn’t even give this 1 star
Wouldn’t even give this 1 star. Utter disaster! Do not go to this event! They should be offering everyone a refund! Firstly, £10 parking charge which we all found a shock as nothing mentioned before!
Only positive was a great selection of food stools but EXTREMELY costly! I paid £20 for some churros, tea and latte… £10 for 1 hot dog
I was under the impression rides were included but nope £4/£5 a go on each ride.
No Christmas market, no carol singing.
And then we get to the part we actually paid for, started late, it was cold kids had had enough! Couldn’t work out what anything was and the story telling was horrendous! Nothing like the AD shows. Half the lights clearly were not flying and half way through most of the lights shut off and to no surprise (myself included) nearly all were leaving and then just a complete black out.. glad we left.
Then the exit, no traffic management, cars, kids, wheelchairs, dogs all over the place no direction.
Our friends we went with left 5 minutes after we did and were stuck in a standstill for an hour.
Santas Grotto - non existent
Neurodiverse area - non existent
Food stalls changing prices when it got busy or making prices up as they went along
Parking charges made up as they went along
Avoid this at all cost. Not worth the money and I will expect a full refund.
Absolutel shambles
Absolutely shambles. Nearly 90 minutes sat in a queue to get in .. once there, drones didn't work, music was awful and we left early
Absolute criminals
Absolute criminals. Selling "early bird" tickets at more expensive rates then moving the event and refusing refunds. Not to mention delivering what sounds like an abysmal show... Avoid at all costs.
Drone show with no drones
Postponed the drone show at short notice and then refused to refund people who could not attend the new date instead offering tickets for another show miles away.
Arrived to the showground and had to pay £7 to park despite all other events we have ever attended at the showground and parking has been free , the parking was on a boggy field and cars were already struggling and getting stuck, some of the parking stewards helped others just stood around talking to each other .
Trying to get into the actual venue was chaos no direction no organisation just pure chaos, bags checked briefly no real security and then to be stoppped again further along by someone asking for your name to find your tickets instead of actually scanning the QR code on the app so could of given anyone’s name and got in for free providing someone with that name matched the system.
Once in the Venue you was met by a dozen or so catering company’s offering differnt foods and drinks the ques for these was about 45minutes each with the odd gazebo/tent which I think had the St John’s ambulance there was also a half inflated Rudolph and a handful of fun fair rides.
The rides themselves were ok and the price for them was expected at an event like that ques weren’t as long as they looked.
Now for the entertainment…… the host / presenter was absolutely rubbish and made some very odd comments to children regarding his lady friend who lives in Kent (not suitable for kids entertainment at all) didn’t really seem to know what was going on half the time, the girls who were singing along if you can call it that to background music we really felt sorry for, they looked like they had been plucked from the crowd and told to make it up as you go along.
The drone display itself was an absolute waste of everyone’s time delayed for 25 minutes and then after 15 minutes it began did not look like anything that was advertised half the drones didn’t light up the other 250 didn’t even take off, spent the first 5 minutes we watched trying to work out what the drones were trying to show, the music and story line was non existent for the first part as nothing was working at which point we and hundreds of other had had enough and began to leave.
Trying to leave was chaos aswell the cars were getting stuck again and no one new were the exit was as the stewards just stood about talking with each other, the traffic lights on the exit made it 10 times worse should of had 2 lanes 1 to go right 1 to go left but who am I to tell these company’s how to run things.
All in all complete waste of time, money and effort. Would not recommend anyone going to see any of the other shows because they are probably just as bad, the company has been reported to the relevant authorities for committing fraud and breach of health and safety and gdpr breaches, save your money and go somewhere else 👍
