Superb customer care from Jessica and…

Superb customer care from Jessica and Cathy. I had registration difficulties for a forthcoming graduation event. Cathy helped in the earlier part of this week and Jessica completely resolved the issue today. Very professional, effective and efficient. Thank you!

Photographs underwhelming

The photographs are not the quality that I expect from a professional photography business. The one of me receiving my degree during the ceremony is appalling, my eyes are closed in the photo and it's taken from an odd angle. I couldn't see over the watermark during the ordering process that my eyes were actually closed in the photo. Unfortunately I now have the photo and it's not one I will be putting on display.

We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the on stage picture you have received. Unfortunately whilst all care is taken on the day to capture the moment graduates are walking across the stage, sadly this photograph cannot be guaranteed as this is taken during a moving ceremony.

Therefore, we are sorry to hear we have not managed to capture this for you and that you were unable to see this clearly online.

My photos were not centred correctly in the frame

I used Marston Events for my recent legal admission ceremony. The photographer was really nice and took some good photos, I stood where he directed me to and did as he asked.

Unfortunately, I received my photos in the post a few weeks later and both the family photo and individual photo of me are not centred at all? Particularly in the individual photo, I’m way off to the left side of the frame? Really unsure how this has happened, as I stood where he directed me to. I’ve had two previous graduations and not had this issue.

I have contacted Marston Events to raise a complaint about my photos and still await a response. I paid good money for these photos and it’s a shame that they didn’t turn out great.

Disappointing quality and you will still pay for it

Based on my recent experience with their photography service for my graduation, I strongly advise caution before committing to any photography purchases, especially before your event.

The option to wait until after your event is the safer choice!

The preview you get to view before confirming your purchase is unclear and lacks the necessary clarity to assess crucial details (closed eyes for example).

Once you download the high-quality version, there is no provision for a full refund, as clearly stated during the download process. This policy is particularly unfortunate because even if the photo is beyond repair through editing, customers are still bound by these terms.

Customer service response time can often take up to 5 days, even when dealing with time sensitive communications such as order cancellations.

It's concerning that there are no exceptions or special circumstances addressed regarding the quality of the photo or the level of service provided, as its not a guarantee of the quality of your image or their effort to provide multiple photo choices.

With an outcome of a refund provided, you will still be charged an admin fee on top of the admin fee you have already been charged in your original order.

I would not rely on this service to capture a special or important event.

The Photographer was brilliant!

The Graduation was easy to apply for and to buy additional tickets for.
The event went off very smoothly and your on-stage photographer did a marvellous task of capturing this student’s joy on the day. The photos were purchasable at the reception and gave much pleasure. I have offered it to the college in case they wish to advertise for new ‘oldies’ students. Many thanks.

WORSE customer service ever

Wish I saw the other bad reviews before getting a family graduation photo package from this company, then I would’ve stayed well away from them.
The first photographer couldn’t work his computer, which wasn’t promising. We had to go to next photographer who just rushed through and gave us direction. Took a single photo of me then one with my partner then one with my dad and that was it.
He never once said if we wanted any other variations like a group photo etc. Then once you go to order pictures I was made to choose between my partners or dad’s image.
The customer service manager isn’t very good and didn’t care. Just told us we should’ve asked the photographer what photos we wanted so it’s our fault. But this isn’t told to you at the time and just expect cause you pre paid for family photos that is what they will give you. But no they just look to up sell, feels all like a con.
Worse customer service I’ve ever dealt with. They just blamed us and said we shouldve told photographer what to do. Sorry but It’s the professional photographers role to lead the shoot and ensure people know their options, Not the client.
Stay well away from this company.

Bad communication, bad experience, bad customer service and extortionate pricing.

Yeah, not a good company. Customer service is awful and they will blame you for a mistake they made. Had to wait months to receive a notification of my pictures being ready and only then did they send them. No apology or anything. They told me they'd tried to contact me before (they hadn't, I'd exhausted all search terms in the months leading up and checked my Junk). Even then, none of my solo pictures were included in the selection and I had to prompt them to fix htis again. Not to mention the insanely high prices for what is below average service and products. Would not recommend. And Marston, please don't respond to this with some empty lip service, I've had enough of that. I'm not looking for compensation or anything moving forward. I'm good.

I am newly qualified and this company…

I am newly qualified and this company have ruined the memory of my Graduation. I ordered 1 individual of myself, and the family portrait pack with my mother and husband. I wanted to give my mother a memory and send one of us to my daughter in New Zealand. This company sent me the reverse of my order and refuses to correct it unless I pay for postage to send them back. They are also blaming this mistake of me. I offered to send them photos of their mistake but they will only rectify this if I now pay for the cost of postage. I would recommend to graduates to go with another more professional company. I will be posting on all student hubs to warn them of this company.

This company is a SCAM

This company is a SCAM, plain and simple. They charge you at the event, telling you that you will be able to download the pictures from their webpage. Once you access their site, you find that you need to pay 25 gbp to **DOWNLOAD** EVERY SINGLE PICTURE. This is the minimum amount that you are able to pay to access the pictures, as alternative options are even more expensive.

After the event you would receive a link to preview the images online and we do then offer digital only copies which are priced at £25 per image and this would provide you the original unedited files with the copyrights. We do also offer printed images which start at £25 for a single picture.

Excellent customer service

I recently contacted Marston Events and spoke to George who couldn’t have been more helpful. I had an old graduation photo which needed to be altered. He managed to retrieve it from the archives and send it to another department to be photoshopped. They did an amazing job by removing someone from the picture and forming a new family group.
I thought that this was some of the best customer service I had ever experienced. George was personable, polite and took a lot of trouble to ensure a good result in what was a very small order.
I am very grateful to him and his colleagues.

Complete Rip-off

They want you to pay £25 per image taken, £45 for a gown to hire (£200 to buy), £35 per guest ticket, £25 for a physical copy, all that for what is supposed to be a special day for students. I was promised on the day that I could download the images when they were released and now they're telling me I need to pay £25 per downloaded image (we took 7). I thought downloaded images would be free but no, I need to pay more to receive those. The way they word their messages makes it seem like you will receive a photo of you walking across the stage and other images free of charge until their website adds a fee to every single image you select. This is a horrible business and completely ruined what was supposed to be a special day of achievement but all they want is money for a blurry photo. I should have known better and would recommend others to just take photos themselves, this company is useless and a complete scam.

Furthermore with the photography we can confirm our starting price is £25 for either a single 10x8 print or a digital only copy of one image which then provides you the full copyright. We apologise if there was any miscommunication on the day but unfortunately if you wish to purchase any further images, our prices do start at £25.

Your photographs will remain available for you to view and order online via your account for one year.

Do not recommend

Overpriced, poor service, terrible website experience that cannot process card payments even at insanely high prices. I do not recommend it. Moreover, no one replies to my emails when I contact customer service or responds to my calls when asking for assistance on my issue. I cannot come up with a better idea for ruining people's graduation experience than relying on your company for photography services. From a student who cannot purchase his only graduation photos.

Terrible Experience - Overpriced and Poor Service

I had an incredibly disappointing experience with this service, which I strongly advise people to avoid at all costs. Not only was it unreasonably expensive, but the quality of their work was abysmal. They charged an exorbitant amount of money, and to add insult to injury, they demanded extra fees for basic features like downloading digital pictures and using good paper for printing. With the outrageous prices they charged for just two pictures, I could have easily hired a full-day photographer. Moreover, they didn't even allow me to choose different pictures to print. Save yourself the trouble and look for a better alternative that respects its customers and provides quality service, because this one falls far short of expectations.

We can confirm that our digital downloads are available for purchase as an additional extra as this provides the full copyrights of the image, so you are able to print this yourself. With regards to the paper, we do use high quality photographic lustre paper however we give our customers the opportunity to upgrade to a Gloss finish if they wish.

No alternative family pictures despite 2/3 people not even smiling or ready.

The photographer’s literally have one job… there was no queue, and I looked at the computer before I left and thought the family photo was really nice. However, I’ve received the pictures online to choose from (only 3 family pictures) all of which both of my parents are very clearly not ready or smiling, and actually in 2 images one family member has an identical face as if it’s been altered. After contacting the company, there is allegedly no other pictures, which I just think is absurd. You’d expect some sort of discount on the other pictures at least considering the prices, but no nothing. Just to clarify, it’s not that the pictures were simply not liked, the people in the pictures are visibly not ready. It’s a one off day which I will never do again and the disappointment is honestly unbelievable. Like I said, the photographers have one job…

Attentive and Efficient Customer Care

Marston has a fantastically helpful and speedy-responding customer care team. I was thoroughly impressed with Marston’s response after an issue arose with my graduation photos.
The customer care was efficient and well-managed, Marston fully resolved my issue with - what I felt was - their upmost attention, whilst they were most likely tackling hundreds of similar enquiries.
