Modern installed 3x roller shutters for me, the staff are great and helpful with any questions you may have. Nothing was an issue. The quality is fantastic. Will definitely use them for future installations

Everyone i dealt with during the whole process was very professional.
Also George was a great installer super friendly and helpfull.

The consultant was very knowledgeable about the product and provided great advice to fulfil our needs. The product is high quality and absolutely delivers meaning we can use our outdoor alfresco throughout the year.

The Modern group took only 7 days to install the shutters and they were 13 large windows which George took 2 days to install on his own

We recently had roller shutters installed and couldn’t be happier with the result. The quality of the product is excellent, and the installation team was professional, efficient, and left everything clean and tidy when they finished.

I only wish we had done it sooner. With the colder weather, we’ve already noticed a significant difference as the shutters are insulated. The shutters have also made a massive difference in blocking out the sun and helping regulate the temperature inside our home.

Agreed to a quote after a web enquiry. Your salesperson was told over 10 times that we weren’t in a position to make a decision today. Wouldn’t take no for an answer. The high pressure sales techniques were employed, “calling his boss” the price dropped by over 25%. Eventually I had to step in on behalf of my partner (after an hour) and reinforce that we couldn’t make a decision. Salesperson was not going to leave, wasted so much of our time with their buy now pay later, non refundable deposit, price reduction etc.

Please be careful, worn your elderly relatives. Warn your cousins, your friends, your family, your neighbours. Don’t warn your worst enemies

great job in installation
My advice please don’t go for cheap jobs. Modern shutters may be a little more expensive but you get a great job. I installed 14 shutters more than 8 years ago and never had any issues till date. April month I installed the outdoor blinds professional job done.

Office/Accounts staff were very professional and efficient in resolving any issues or queries. Eugene provided excellent service when undergoing installation of roller blinds. Friendly and pleasant to deal with. Thank you to The Modern Group.

Great communication, awesome products

Dealing with Modern was a very easy and smooth process. The communication throughout the process was excellent and Mitch who came to install the blinds was fantastic. He was proficient at his job , very considerate of the family with noise etc and did an amazing job and the communication was very good , notifying me exactly what time he would be here. The blinds are wonderful and it has given us an outdoor living space to use all year round . Would definitely recommend Modern . Very satisfied customer

I have to take Modern to the small claims tribunal to receive the deposit I paid. They did not follow up on any of the promised steps and have become not complaint in following Australian Trade Practices laws. I have signed another company and received service and better quality for less than their quoted price.

I signed up for plantation shutters and blinds with Modern Group after a “free quote” at my apartment.

Later that same day, after reviewing the cost more carefully, I realised it wasn’t financially manageable and emailed to cancel immediately — before any measure, manufacturing, or installation had started.

Despite cancelling on the same day, I’ve had no response and no clarity about my deposit or refund.

I made it clear in my email that I understood reasonable costs may apply and simply asked:

* whether any costs had actually been incurred
* for confirmation of cancellation

The lack of communication has been really disappointing and stressful. I also felt there was pressure to make a decision on the spot during the quote, which in hindsight didn’t allow enough time to properly consider the cost.

At a minimum, I would expect prompt acknowledgement and transparency about any refund.

Happy to update this review if this is resolved, but at this stage I’ve heard nothing. This has been an extremely stressful and unwelcome experience.
